good movie for post marathon comedown blues:

Manufactured Landscapes....
  9:28am
Hatch:

Who said I have the blues? I thought that film was a little "eh." Nice photographs, though
  9:34am
Hatch:

No blues, no marathon hangover.
  9:36am
Mason:

Liking the heavy sounds first thing in the morning. Better than coffee.
  9:38am
Hatch:

Nothing is better than coffee.
  9:41am
Mason:

I got to get my hands on some Boris. I've been an avid follower of J-rock for years, but hadn't heard of them until WFMU started putting them into the rotation.
  9:44am
Mere:

Oh, man. Thin Lizzy! You're really making me wish I were on a road trip in Summer, and not at a desk at the end of Winter.
  9:47am
Reed:

For a song about oral sex, this is a surprisingly somber jam.
  10:02am
jonathan:

is this paul williams song from a flick?
  10:02am
Cubicle Carl:

Ah, an excursion into Collector's Choice la la land. I love it.
  10:03am
Hatch:

Nope, not from Phantom Of The Paradise or any other movie.
  10:14am
maggie:

what is this talk over music again?
  10:17am
Chance From That Third World Country, Maine:

*listens*
  10:19am
kwhitehead:

This sounds like that Blind Melon song. Not that that's bad thing..I'm just sayin'.
  10:20am
Hatch:

It reminds me of something else too, the vocals at least... can't quite put my finger on it. Not CSNY but something in that vein. Maybe Ian Matthews?
  10:25am
kwhitehead:

It was kind of good.
  10:29am
Hatch:

Kinda good/kinda bad too. Can't win 'em all.
  10:30am
Bryce Benton:

Yes, Hillary is a monster. Obama '08!
  10:32am
Hatch:

That said, I could probably live with Obama/Monster '08.
  10:34am
Bryce Benton:

Fair enough
  10:40am
Luciano from Genoa, Italy:

I'd vote Obama/Monster '08, if I could ... but does Obama play anything (French horn, marimba, theremin, a Vox continental ...) as Monster's husband? It would be great!
  10:44am
Hatch:

I believe Obama plays the bagpipes.
  10:46am
Dickdong (UK):

Bet he plays the ukulele. (Not that he'd want anyone to know.)
  10:46am
Gregory:

O'Bama, isn't that Irish? Maybe he plays the harp.
  10:50am
Luciano from Genoa, Italy:

Uillean pipes for O'Bama, it must be ... by the way, my desk mate is practicing bagpipes (luckily enough, not in office...). New ticket 08': O'Bama / Gianluca!
  10:56am
Carmichael:

*scans playlist*

Damn! I missed Thin Lizzy!! Grrr!!! I gotta start waking up earlier!!!
  11:01am
Cecile:

Me too!

Darn old life getting in the way of what's important.
  11:03am
Parq:

"Dot is cute, and Yakko yaks/ Wakko packs away the snacks/ while Obama plays the pipes . . ."

Nah, it just doesn't scan.
  11:05am
Cecile:

There's baloney in your pants. ;D
  11:05am
Carmichael:

OK, this more than makes up for missing Phil
  11:05am
Cecile:

Hey, play something by Molly Hatchet, I mean No Doctors...
  11:14am
lonnie:

this sounds like leaf house
  11:14am
Todd 76%:

Wow, the Saucers! Some old CT s**t. Hatch, you probably know this already, but this features former Rocket From The Tombser Craig Bell and then future Miracle Legionaire Mark Mulcahy.
  11:20am
Matt:

Hey Hatch, I love your show. Could you tell me what your intro/outro music is? I love it. Actually, I tend to live the intro/outro tunes that a lot of the WFMU DJ's play. Maybe you list this somewhere on your site. . .
Maybe you can't say what it is. . .

I can't even remember if you only use that one tune, but I'm specifically talking about the one that just played - with the organs.
  11:22am
Cecile:

Yeah! Quo!!!!!
  11:23am
Hatch:

That track is "Piromano" by Los Blops. The first talkover track is always "Mama Get Yourself Together" by Baby Huey and the last one is always "Avslutning" by Bjorn Olsson.
  11:28am
Luciano from Genoa, Italy:

Great Chilean group, Los Blops! And Locomotora's my fave, though I like as well the previous "folkish" efforts a lot!
  11:30am
Carmichael:

Quo! I turned my computer speakers up to 11.
  11:32am
Matt:

Excellent, thank!
  11:33am
Parq:

Matt and others interested: note that Rich Hazelton's marathon premium for this year is a disc of intros, outros and similar material from various FMU deejays. Far from too late to make a pledge!
  11:33am
Luciano from Genoa, Italy:

Up to 11 with International Harvester, here! Thanks Hatch!
  11:38am
?:

Ah, thank you Parq, I hadn't noticed that one.
  11:38am
The voice of Cheese:

Dang! I missed the Inner City Unit track!! next week can you play "Watching the Grass Grow"? Nik Turner is a space lord!!!
  11:39am
hector:

You always discover me something worth to investigate.
Until now, there are Big Dipper and Gary Higgins.
Thanks Hatch!
  11:41am
Cecile:

Jarvonen? She had to have come from Finland, cause that's the more Finnish last name I ever heard.
  11:53am
boston:

this last set has made my day
  11:56am
Parq:

I think Cecile's point here is that the name Jarvonen crosses the Finnish line.
