Listener comments!

  10:56am
SmokinJ:

Good morning music lovers!
  11:08am
paul:

Howdy.
  11:13am
Joe:

Killin' it today Mike. Between "Cold Slaw" and "Arson Carson" you've made my morning twice.
  12:00pm
SmokinJ:

Great interview...
  12:10pm
paul:

Is Shatner serious when he does this? Or is he trying to be funny?
I never know.
  12:18pm
Parq:

Paul, I've watched him do interview about why he does what he does, and if it's possible to imagine, I think it's both. I think he knows that he's over the top, and he knows where it's got him, and he sincerely digs doing it. He's not consciously trying to be funny or serious. He's just being himself.
  12:25pm
paul:

I thought it was a little of both. But I think when he did those songs in the 60's, he was serious about it. Which, of course, makes them even funnier. Or sadder.
  12:47pm
JOE:

Hi Mike- That "Get Out of Denver" is originally a Bob Seger song from his early pre-fame days.
  12:48pm
paul:

Did Ike and Tina also do this song?
  2:58pm
Joe #2:

Hey joe - Mike is not an idiot, I'm sure he knows "Get Out of Denver" is originally a Bob Seger song. And paul - yes they did.
  4:01pm
Greg:

Hey that T Bones song 'Kicks' was great -- however, I can't seem to locate any info on them. Any help is certainly appreciated! Love the show! Greg
  10:54am
Peter:

Any chance to edit the playlist to include "I Stand Accused" immediately after the interview at about 1:59:00?
  11:26am
Peter:

'Kicks" struck me, too, as possibly being better than the Raiders' version. Dave Marsh's "The Heart of Rock & Soul" hints at the Raiders writing it (p. 320), without saying for sure.....
  11:51pm
Luigi:

T-Bones had a hit with the Alka-Seltzer jingle. "Kicks" is from the LP "Everyone's Gone to the Moon."
  9:07am
Howling Rabbit:

I really like the Shatner piece. No kidding.
