Happy Weekend!
Ypsilanti Doug:

Good morning all. Happy Friday.

Ypsi Doug:

Great idea. Got any mento?
Bad Ronald:

You've certainly set the mood...

Give the Monica some!!!
Irwin not Kenny:

A fine wake-up tonic, Monic! Welcome back to the 'waves.

Good times!

my volume keeps creeping up, up, and away!

i need to be sedated!

Ah thanks as always Monica for a great show so far

"I wanna Be Sedated" by a brass band -- What a great song to assuage my corporate-inflicted soul. Monica, you're great.
fitejcity style:

see you on lake owassa!

if you're upstate this Saturday, right across the river in Hudson (a few miles from Cairo) there's a free concert put on by the Wave Farm.

hola irwin, bad ronald, fitejcity, ira, nh dave spaniel, dedalus, jack ~~~ thanks for tuning in! any fun in your future?
Bad Ronald:

Always a pleasure Monica - Great Show.
No plans, just bummin around the city.
May play a gig or two...
fitejcity style:

taking the boy to the pirate exhibit in philly this weekend - anybody recommend good record stores / music happenings or things definetly to check out in philly -

and the ramones jingle was AWESOME - thanks!

Sri Lanka for a couple of weeks - workin' holiday kinda ... should be awesome though.

backpacking the Appalachian trail, leaving next weekend. my apartment looks like an outdoor supply store after a tornado.

going to the southeast's largest free music festival in asheville nc ...BELECHERE!!!!!! Love You Monica
Bad Ronald:

Feelin the East Coast Groove!!!
kent goldings:

to fitejcity style:
I grew up in South Jersey, not far from Philly. I'm not too familiar with the record stores there anymore, though if you're passing through Princeton, you MUST stop at Princeton Record Exchange.
When I'm back in Jersey during the summer, I always make a point of stopping by Italiano's for water ice - on 12th St in Phila. The best water ice ever!

to Monica - luvvs the show today, you are helping me stay chill at work. I'm seeing Batman this weekend, yeah!
Listener Dave from NH:

Take that, west coast!
Bad Ronald:

I'm dancing on my desk!!!
fitejcity style:

thanks kent!

if ur in downtown jc hit toricos on 1st and erie for some great mango sherbet or mamey ice cream batidos!

Ya Mon....Steelpan Ramones! Now I am dancing on my desk....
kent goldings:

aw man, fitejcity - you're making me hungry! thanks for the tip!

Digging the mutant Ramones, Miss M. Next week, I'll be at a sidewalk cafe in Quebec City, and the week after, I'll be back at the damn desk. But this week, I'm enjoying vacation at home. I saw the Abba movie and the Batman movie, one after the other.

Headed to Charlottesville, VA for a week....wish the actual highway had the information highway so that I could stream WFMU the whole way...have to settle for the archives.

This station is great (trouble is fantastic!). I started listening here at work a few months ago and have been addicted ever since. Thanks for caring!

GP, streaming WFMU to my phone and plugging the headphone output into my car stereo works great!
kent goldings:

I'll be in San Francisco next month, officially to attend a conference - unofficially to buy lots of records. Can anyone recommend some good Japanese food there? Ideally with something for vegetarians - my partner's a nonfisheating veg.

Thanks Doug for the idea...(SIGH) yet another reminder that I need to update my technology...My mobile still has a cord and a dial!
Bad Ronald:

You are cracking me up Monica - Thanks!!

Well this song just doesn't get old. I could listen to it all day.

Kent..try Minako..I think it is on Mission Street, mu Japanese cousin swears by it and took us there last time we were in SF.
kent goldings:

GP, you rule! Thanks for the recommendation!

and if you're down in the Mission and aren't already planning on it, get over to Aquarius Records on Valencia.
north guinea hills:

no fucking shit monica! an ACTUAL mingering mike song. you must be putting one o'er on us listeners!
north guinea hills:

i would love to see his artwork displayed!
north guinea hills:

sort of a harry darger type of genius... i dig this song!

We need a Daniel Johnston, Mingering Mike, Bronson showdown.
kent goldings:

sure thing, barney! i'm looking way forward to aquarius.

Kent, let me endorse Barney's endorsement of Aquarius. Amoeba gets all the attention, but Aquarius has the non-mainstream bona fides, with many titles augmented by their own thoughtful notes, affixed right on the discs.

hi gp~ we'll try to arrange that! north guinea hills, there's lots about mingering mike online....
thanks all !!

I would also recommend checking out (or signing up for) Aquarius's new release list in preparation:
They're friendly folks, too.

Monica, follow up with some Francoise Hardy please!
What a great show today...
north guinea hills:

thanks for yet another great show monica!
Sean Daily:

Love this Magnetic Fields song.

THANKS EVERYONE FOR CHECKING IN!! Have a wonderful week - i'll be back next friday. mwah!!

Hi Monica,
I loved your show! I get to listen to it on my way to work where I edit documentary films. I actually heard the Delta Rhythm Boys song Alouette and thought it would be great for a film I am working on. I've tried to find a copy online, but I can't find it anywhere. Do you think there is anyway I could get a digital copy from you (or be able to download it on the site)?
Thanks again for the amazing show. AR
