A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

Hey, 55fps, the guys on the Mclean Track are (apart from Mclean) Grachan Moncur, Lamont Johnson, Scott Holt and Billy Higgins, usual fellows in late Blue Note recordings during 60s.
What bunch of records they did...

Hi gang. Dug the "directives" SOTD pic on the homepage. That's pretty much the way the whole world looks to me nowadays -- I know that a lot of you can 10-4 that.

Listen, if you're going to confuse Lady O'Day with another Anita, at least make it Ekberg.

GP:

That Susan Christy track was nicely engineered..great sound there even form my dime store cans.

Hi Shana
  10:54am
Parq:

Miss T, if you go for Spanish rumba, you should check out an album called "Rey de la Rumba" from a Gypsy dude known as Peret. He hosts a different guest artist on each track, and it's the cream of Spanish rock -- Amparanoia, Manu Chau, Dusmiguet, Estopa, etc. -- plus, inevitably, David Byrne. Great album.
  10:55am
Carmichael:

Morning from California.
  10:56am

  11:14am

DonĀ“t be embarrased for your spanish pronounciation! You should hear my english one...
But the point is anyone can enjoy las grecas or any music by the way, without having to understand it...
  11:15am
Big Brother:

My CIA contacts tell me that Trouble and Sarah Palin are twins separated at birth. Trouble was raised on a moister farm in RI while Sarah was raised as a princess in Wasilla. One was seduced by the dark side.

Tonight will be interesting, both for what she says, and for what she's being coached to not say.
  11:16am
Sean Daily:

Not even close to first comment! Woo hoo!
  11:17am

I'm not gonna watch, Dale. Either way, it's gonna be a train wreck, either for the Republicans or the Democrats.

It may just be a totally scripted bore....

  11:32am
Parq:

I'm with Sean. The debate is going to be a staged event comprising competing infomercials, and watching it can only end in tears. Also, 10-4 to Charmicheal on Colbert as news source. Stingy, the answer to your question is, what the IRS is going to demand from you the minute they find out you've got the grand.
  11:33am
GP:

Glad I'm not th eonly Clarissa fan round here...that show was an excellent model for how to do things right on a sitcom. My wife and I would watch it all the time even before we had kids who could enjoy it. I'm sure it is on DVD like everything else these days.

  11:57am

The old songs are still the best, Brian. And doesn't poor Ike have enough on his mind without people saying "you're playlist"?
  11:58am
Brian:

Standing on my head was my first instinct. But the screen reloads to the top. I can't see the bottom, and the bottom is where I want to be.
