A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

Tapeworm! Hey, Trouble.

  9:20am
Bad Ronald:

Can we talk about bedknobs?
  9:23am

  9:40am
annie:

any meredith monk ,trouble?? she and yoko worked together long ago. not to say i don't appreciate yoko, but meredith deserves attention as well.
  9:42am
Laurie:

There's some really great Yoko Ono art at MOMA, too. They have this music-inspired gallery. I think it's the same area with Nan Goldin's "Ballad of Sexual Dependency," which is just fabulous.

I really enjoyed watching that Nan Goldin slideshow thingy. It was nice sitting in a room with about twenty other people who didn't feel self-conscious about laughing.
  9:44am
Negator:

Yoko is a supertalent. I feel she really got the shaft by getting thrust in the pop spotlight. She became medium during that time, I guess. More sexy than ever!
  9:44am
Bad Ronald:

Love this Phil Napolean but I fail to pick up on the spooky element. It kinda makes me want to jitterbug...
  9:46am
Bad Ronald:

My favorite Yoko Ono performance is "Cut".
  9:47am
dc pat:

Don't Worry is my fave.
  9:51am
Cecile:

Santana - Evil Ways or Black Magic Woman....

I like Walking on Thin Ice.

They also ripped off Angus Podgorny.
  10:05am
Cecile:

WOW is it a requirement that all 'FMU AM DJs have a root canal this week?
  10:05am
Swami:

Root Canal! Tuesday? You, me and Ken. Anyone else?
  10:06am
Cecile:

Swami, have you taken Ken's suggestion about getting good pain meds yet? ;)
  10:06am

Weird Festival of Mouth Upheaval.

Clocks went back in the Uk at the weekend, I'm an hour late! Curses!
  10:10am
paulthepostman (formerly 'pm'):

...just back from walking the streets for money! Trouble, condolences, so nothing for the tooth fairies then?! Do you do that thing of putting a tooth under the pillow for the fairies over there?
  10:11am
Cecile:

Adrian, you missed out WFMU handing out money, candy, donuts and rare 45s to all listeners. Maybe next time. ;D
  10:13am
paulthepostman:

Adrian, aren't you an hour early?
  10:14am
Laurie:

I love this cat: http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/asiapcf/10/29/japan.station.cat/index.html?eref=rss_topstories#cnnSTCVideo
  10:14am
trouble:

yes we do the tooth fairy thing, but the tooth is still in my mouth. It's the soul of the tooth that has become one with the universe
  10:17am
paulthepostman:

Wow, your getting there by installments
  10:18am
kat:

Trouble, you, Ken, and Kenny G. have all had root canal issues this week. Could there be something in the water over there?
  10:21am
Laurie:

Or something NOT in the water? No fluoride in Jersey City water??
  10:21am
annie:

i think they had to cash in on thier dental plan...
  10:24am
Bad Ronald:

Well as far as Ken is concerned it seems it was just for the meds...
  10:27am
Cecile:

and now he's cruising dog parks rolling dog walkers for pet meds. Sad....
  10:28am
bzul:

It's a syndrome...like people with phantom college degrees or bogus claims of valorous combat experience. Gonzoliers poling along the root canal singing for attention. Tsk.
  10:29am
Bad Ronald:

He'll be licking toads soon...
  10:32am
paulthepostman:

bzul, sounds like you've got to the root of the problem

bzul:

...Acci-dentally?
  10:37am
paulthepostman:

Un-orthodontically?
  10:38am
Swami:

Cecile
Oh indeed. He disrespected my Darvocet, He'd rather bark twice for Tramadol.
  10:39am
Swami:

Great show Trouble, and that isn't just the Darvocet talking. I think.
  10:39am
bzul:

Well, you know the drill...

(Novocaine required by now for other comment watchers.)
  10:39am
Bad Ronald:

these puns are infant-tine!
  10:40am
Raolo:

do the WFMU dj's get payola to play stuff like Notwist and Panda Bear? That Panda Bear and Animal Collective stuff is okay but it seems like they have been stuck on the same "Pet Sounds" sound for the last 10 years. I saw Panda Bear live back in 2007, the only thing he played live were some vocals over his own vocal track. The rest was all samples, a very typical modern concert...these new bands just pose on stage with the samplers playing the background.
  10:41am
?:

i was just going to say, raolo, that panda bear is really starting to seem like a one-trick, brian-wilson-y pony
  10:42am
bzul:

You tellin' me to get forked, Ronald...?
  10:42am
kent:

hey that troll-ertanz song ruled earlier
  10:44am
Bad Ronald:

Yeah or I'll have you put in dentation!
  10:46am
bzul:

I'll arrange me thoughts for better fang-shui.

So what's the molar of the story?
  10:49am
bzul:

Reality bites.
  10:50am
Bad Ronald:

I think we ground it down.
  10:51am
bzul:

Chew unto others...?
  10:53am
Bad Ronald:

Cuspid pie!

(I panicked)
  10:54am

uh thanks for your concern, but i think we're done with that thread people...
  10:56am

not even close to first not even close. woo hoo.
  11:00am
paulthepostman:

  11:03am
Bad Ronald:

  11:03am
annie:

  11:05am

  11:05am
Sean Daily:

Not even close to first comment! Woo hoo!
  11:06am
PMD:

  11:07am

  11:24am
dc pat:

stingy appears to have been expunged from comment history. There are references to him/her but none of his comments that I can find....strange....has he been banned? Really, do a search for him on this site. And if you never hear from me again, you'll know what happened....
  11:25am
dc pat:

oh, Bad Ron beat me to it.
  11:27am
annie:

call me a newbie, but how do i find this elusive refernence (of my reference to princess bride)??
  11:27am
trouble:

stingy wrote me last week and said he had been suspended, i don't know why. But i do know that the individual dj can delete remarks from her or his playlist that are unsavory or just plain unhealthy.
  11:27am
GP:

OK, now that is really scary...how bad do you have to be to get banned. AND expunged?
  11:28am
Bad Ronald:

Quite an eerie development for the Halloween holiday.

*plays the theremin*
  11:29am
GP:

Oh..thanks Trouble ..I was typing as you were posting, so that explains it...I guess?
  11:30am
Edgar Allen Post:

  11:31am
GP:

Shout out to Stingy if you are still watching....
p.s.: I got my 3rd VCS catalog this week...stingy, tell those dudes that they could really lower thier prices if they would send out WAY fewer catalogs.
  11:31am
dc pat:

  11:32am

  11:43am

GP:

Freaking oot is Scottish for freaking out
  11:44am
dc pat:

he pulled his pants down once.
  11:45am
R. P.:

I think you're all losing it. There was never any poster named Stingy D. This is obviously just a case of false memories induced by crowd panic.
