  9:03am annie:

  9:04am texas scott:

I second that annie.
Cheers!
  9:05am Parq:

Yo Doug, and howdy Miss Linc! All your fans are psyched for your return.
  9:06am annie:

there are some mornings when coffee is such a great sense. good morning lincoln..
  9:07am PMD:

Hi Lincoln!!!
  9:09am annie:

PMD, did you get all your work done yesterday? and i loved that sentence structure thing. imagine what dubya's would look like!
  9:12am monica:

hola lincoln! i hear you can dj your dad under the table.
  9:12am texas scott:

Good morning,Doug and Lincoln.
Nice music for a Friday!
  9:15am Parq:

Lincoln, if there's anything you don't understand today, be sure to ask Dad. That's the only way to learn, is to ask questions. Don't worry if he's on mike, just ask away!
  9:15am fishmonkeystew:

Howdy, Doug, Lincoln, and all! Hey Doug, I just watched Calle 54 the other night. There are some amazing performances in that film. Ever see it? There's a piece by Chucho Valdes that is phenomenal!
  9:17am trev:

Though if he is on Mike, you might want to check that Mike's given his consent.
  9:18am PMD:

I did indeed slash and burn my budget. Eyes were crossed by the end of the day from staring at Excel. I'd much rather diagram sentences all day.
What's Lincoln's favorite music/band?
  9:20am annie:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19eixSFcBjg

i came across this last night seeking bonjour tristesse. two parts. very sweet. save and watch later.
  9:22am Doug and Lincolon:

Good morning everyfunkybody!
  9:23am paul from Sheffield UK:

Hi there. Great music. Cheers !!
  9:25am Parq:

Fish, isn't C.54 killer? I love the look of it, with a wash of color distinguishing each sequence. The interview with Puente on City Island, the lush black-and-white O'Farrell piece, it's truly a marvel.
  9:26am sebastian:

ha! you can't come in, the party is not for ugly people...
  9:28am Paul Sherratt UK:

Hey Sheffield Paul, does that community radio station in your city still have that latin music programme ?
  9:30am fishmonkeystew:

Parq, you're absolutely right. I thought it blew away the Bueno Vista Social Club (though I enjoyed that one, too). I have to say, the expressions on Tito Puente's face while he played were hilarious. Like a living cartoon. Great film!
  9:32am annie:

if she is bold enough, and i know she is, my friend aiko from san diego is here.. aiko.. ? welcome to the sandbox..
  9:33am Bob:

Is one of the Schulkinds stapling something?
  9:34am PMD:

yay Alvin!!!
how about Spongebob? does he sing?
  9:35am jk:

I just tuned in and wouldn't have known.
  9:35am paul from Sheffield UK:

Hi Paul Sherratt. I'm pretty sure we still have that. FM reception is pretty dire where I am. It's all the hills. This WFMU station is terrific.
  9:37am dc pat:

GO LINCOLN!
  9:40am dc pat:

love Snooks!
  9:40am sirapniffej:

Lincoln, make sure your dad tells you that the current broadcast is being heard by millions around the world, including here in paris, france. bonjour bonjour
  9:41am PMD:

If I had a son, I think I might just name him Snooks.
  9:41am dc pat:

knew nickname for my son = Snooks.
  9:45am jk:

wake up in a pastry reality?
  9:48am still b/p:

When I wake up in a pastry reality, I just...turnover.
  9:49am trev:

Can't wait to hear Alvin & the Chipmunks later. Bring it on Lincoln!
  9:49am postmanpaul:

  9:52am paul from Sheffield UK:

The redcoats are coming !! And they're all called Paul !
  9:53am Paul Sherratt:

  9:53am postmanpaul:

CAREFUL, I THINK WE'RE OUTNUMBERED GENERAL!
  9:53am Drummersome:

What is it Pauls in the UK? Glad to have all y'all Pauls!
  9:58am PMD:

I'm surprised Lincoln didn't mention anything related to High School Musical. Not that I want to hear that...but still
  9:59am trev:

I'm a uk resident not called paul, is that allowed in here? I feel a bit left out...
  10:01am Paul Sherratt:

trev,
It might get a bit confusing - why not simply have a name change for a couple of hours ?
  10:09am postmanpaul:

Paul Sherratt - i'm afraid your postcode does not appear on our files but welcome to the coven. and all pauls named trev.
doug and charming daughter - you are a formidable combination; i congratulate you dad!
  10:16am Paulcile:

Hi, Linc! Hi, Doug! Hi, Pauls!
  10:17am postmanpaul:

cecile, you are a funny girl!
  10:21am Hatch:

I love this. Is this what every morning is like in the Schulkind household? Pancakes and prosecution of Bushies.
  10:22am Cecile:

I would say funny lady but that movie sucked.
thanks!
HATCH!!!!!!!!!!1
  10:27am Paul Sherratt:

postmanpaul, I'm just wondering how why in this postcode-less state I'm in, I still get a tax demand ?

I just sent Darling* a large Paycheck ..

* US people.Mr Darling is in charge of money matters in the UK
  10:31am owen:

whenever anyone refers to "Darling" i always imagine him as a WW2 pilot...

anyway, great show!
  10:33am Carmichael:

Nothing like waking to some AM rockabilly. Hi Doug and Lincoln (? I missed that part) and everyone. Some Gene Vincent would rock the joint 'bout now.
  10:34am Carmichael:

Is he duetting with Yma Sumac?!?
  10:42am Paul Sherratt:

Carmichael,

I believe Gene Vincent may be recording some new sides with John Peel ..
  10:43am postmanpaul:

cecile, yeah didn't it. however; 'paulcine' gender/segue tickled me.
  10:45am Cecile:

awww. thanks!

Paul S., what a nice thought.
  10:50am annie:

cecile, check out that link i posted earlier. sweet litle film two-parter.
  10:50am Cecile:

Linc, you have very sophisticated taste for a young lady of your years.

Love everything!
  10:51am Cecile:

I will, annie!
  10:54am Parq:

There was a little spanish flea
A record star he thought he'd be
He heard of singers like Beatles
and Chipmunks he'd seen on TV
Why not a little spanish flea?
And so he hid
Inside a dog
  10:54am PMD:

Thank goodness for archives. I just had a conference call and missed the first part of Lincoln's set! arg!
  10:55am Steve from London:

What a great set! Making a boring afternoon at work more bearable. Great work Lincoln!
  10:56am annie:

lincoln, you have to tell us the movie this is from...
  10:58am annie:

ok, ok.... i just read the list.. love that song.
  10:59am Carmichael:

Parq,

The only reason I know those lyrics is because Homer Simpson sang them while waiting for Bart to get out of the Spinal Tap concert.
  11:01am Sean Daily:

Not even close to first comment! Woo hoo!
  11:02am PMD:

Parq and Carmichael... where is it from?
  11:03am Bob:

Just yesterday I stumbled across a YouTube video of Getz and Coltrane doing Monk's "Hackensack" with Paul Chambers, Oscar Peterson, and Jimmy Cobb: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-2uBeMgV4I
  11:03am ?:

ok, this is kind of off topic, but has anyone else had a bad experience with www.anthologyrecordings.com, trying to download China Shop - 21 puffs on the cassette... annie im looking your way
  11:08am postmanpaul:

LINCOLN, I'VE TYPED YOUR NAME BIG to attract your attention!!! Well Done!!! And if i was Keili Hamilton i'd be getting really nervous right now!
  11:09am annie:

?- wow that is a new site for me.. i'll register and check it out. does it cost money to download?
  11:11am Parq:

PMD, the original song was a hit for Herb Alpert as an instrumental in the 60s. Like all hit instrumentals, it had lyrics grafted onto it so that singers could cover it. As my colleague points out, Homer Simpson redefined it.
  11:13am Carmichael:

Parq, wasn't the Herb Alpert version used on The Dating Game?
  11:14am ?:

Hey Annie, yes it does. Problem is I've paid but still no MP3... was just checking with you WFMU folk if u had any experience with that site. Cause I want China shop so bad but so far no dice...
  11:16am Duncan:

Hey, the Command All Stars! I saw this on the label's web site. Keith Tippett et al.
  11:16am annie:

? - it will be a mystery to me, then as i do not use a checking account or credit card. i'll copy and paste and see if i can find it somewhere else.
  11:25am ?:

Thanks Annie, its ok I'll just look thru Ebay or something. Its the same ? that you helped with finding that Tom Waits song! Have a great day! Lovin the sounds Doug!
  11:30am Sean Daily:

"Perihelion" means the point in a celestial body's orbit that is nearest to the sun.
  11:30am Parq:

On Perihelion and Aphelion, allow me:

http://tinyurl.com/peraph
  11:32am annie:

i really am listening and enjoying, just not up to par today... allergic reaction seems to be hitting me hard and i'm not up to snuff.
  11:33am Leon Trotsky:

Lincoln deserves her own time slot.
  11:35am annie:

lincoln, you will be all prepped for the college station where you go to school... maybe it's time to get a small broadcast at your school now? great training!!
  11:36am PMD:

oh that would be so great - elementary school radio.
  11:37am annie:

why not, they already have PA systems, right?
  11:40am annie:

and if memory serves, there were some student-run presentations at our school in the late 60s.
  5:17am Richard D:

Thanks for playing the Snooks Eaglin tracks. New Orleans greatest street singer!!!!
  12:54pm Michael:

Hmmm...is Doug in fact Dave from the Chipmonks? I noticed an uncanny similarity between their voices. Thanks for the great music Doug and Lincoln!
  12:55pm Michael:

Oops, Chipmunks!
  7:47am Richard D:
