  12:16am
Meghan:

Erika you missed it... I used the Breeders version of it.... Sorry! There is always the archives!
  12:17am
texas scott:

from here to there,
and washington square
i'll pull you're hair....
  12:20am
dave:

ooh, 'roland' is a much better choice than the somewhat more predictable 'lawyers guns and money'. very nice.

not that THAT'S not a great song, too.
  12:20am
erika:

dang! i must have just missed it. i'll have to check out the archive tomorrow - i haven't heard that version!
  12:21am
el jefe:

Nice! I love it all, but the last two selections just gave me a second wind... 2 a.m. here I come. How about the Dead Milkmen for volume 2... violence rules and we've got guns in our schools!
  12:23am
Meghan:

There you go Dave... I figured we could still have both.... hehe

And Yes Jefe... Dead Milkmen in Part 2...
  12:24am
Listener Colin in Toronto:

Great line-up. Keeping me awake as I pack for a trip to HK tomorrow! Music about gunpowder is keeping my mind on tasks like ironing and folding clothes!
  12:25am
Meghan:

Colin.. have a great trip! My brother i think is currently on a plane back from there!
  12:26am
Mattman-YPP:

Hey Meg,

We missed you. Glad to see you are back.
  12:26am
dave:

ok, i've never heard the hank jr. version of 'lawyers guns and money'. i pretty much just spent that entire song going 'whaaaaaAAA?'

awesome.
  12:27am
Listener Colin in Toronto:

Thanks! I'll be following WFMU on the podcasts while I am there!
  12:28am
Meghan:

Glad it threw you for a loop Dave! hehe

matttttttttttttttttt hello!!!!
  12:30am
Chuck:

And it's pretty simple song to play in the key of F! Make your own assertions about that.
  12:30am
Meghan:

Yes, thank god for the podcasts! Have fun while you are there!
  12:32am
Doctor B.:

A request perhaps? It's a long shot, I know: It's a fairly obscure one:

Diana Darrin - "Little Gun, Little Me"
  12:34am
Meghan:

This playlist is pretty full.... but I will look for it for Guns Part 2.... gives me a little time to look it up...
  12:37am
Doctor B.:

No problem. I'm looking forward to it. In the meantime, keep up the great work!
  12:38am
Chuck:

Ouch! Song transition was a little rough from Hank to Gene. Rest is working well. I've got a maternal uncle named afer Faron Young, so gotta love him!
  12:38am
joshua K:

Theres some kind of theme with this playlist... hmmm.
  12:43am
Meghan:

You think Joshua? What do you think that theme would be?
  12:45am
Mattman-YPP:

Hmm, great playlist for loading the guns nonstop
  12:50am
Meghan:

Thanks Matt... now put down that gun... step away....
  12:54am
Chuck:

Wish I could have this to listen to when I'm out skeet shooting on Sundays. Beats just having ear plugs in to protect from muzzle blast!
  12:54am
dave:

"junior's got a gun" could justify the existence of the entire catalog of 'mats reissues all by itself.
  12:56am
Meghan:

I was just have a conversation about all the reissues lately... where they make you rebuy the album you already own... with the lure of OTHER songs.... but it's true, they are worth while..
  1:01am
dave:

i am a sucker for good packaging and drunken outtakes. i am the reissue target market.
  1:05am
Meghan:

WORST DRUNKEN OUTTAKE AWARD- that goes to Van Morrison doing his obligitory album where you hear the slurs getting worse and worse...
  1:08am
Chuck:

When were the Repalcements ever totally sober? It was one of the things that made them great. I've got an album of early REM stuff where they're largely "stiff". Some cool songs in it though.
  1:14am
dave:

i dunno. do the murray wilson recordings count as outtakes? 'cause you can actually smell the alcohol coming out of the speakers on those ones.

not likely to appear as part of a deluxe reissue package any time soon, though, i suppose.
  1:15am
Meghan:

Now if only liquor companies where smart, they would either sponsor those albums or give a free sample with each record...
  1:18am
dave:

that was the problem with the st. ides ads: they didn't sound drunk enough.
  1:21am
Chuck:

In a complete turn of subject, what was good in terms of food in Istanbul? I'm looking for new culinary ideas.
  1:22am
Meghan:

Don't think i really have come across St Ides ads... but i barely remember a drunken experience from it in college...
  1:24am
dave:

istanbul? try the turkey, chuck.

nyuk nyuk nyuk.

THANKS FOLKS, WE'LL BE HERE ALL WEEK.
  1:24am
Meghan:

Hmmm Kebabs... lots and lots of kebabs.... And lamb dishes, which i am not a fan of. Never really liked lamb, that taste always bothered me. Anatolian food was good though. Cooking stuff in pots and you have to break it with a sword... that kinda rocked...
  1:28am
jon:

Long live WFMU. I am listening more and more - I can't not say something
  1:29am
Meghan:

Glad you are listening Jon! That is what counts!
  1:32am
Chuck:

Dave, if that "joke" was a horse I'd have to take it out and shoot it! Lame! Turkeys are indiginous to North America, ya twit!
Actually, I think what you may have experieced is "mutton", Meg. An old sheep, and the meat does get kinda funky. I don't like that myself.
  1:38am
listener mark:

Good Morning Meghan.
Really enjoying the tunes.
Thank you.
  1:40am
roger:

I HAD BAD CASE OF FOOT IN EAR DISEASE-ONCE--WFMU CLEARED IT UP --WITH A TUBE OF FOOT REMOVER-- I SIT AND LISTEN OFTEN NOW
  1:43am
Mattman-YPP:

NOOOO!!!, You can't leave us yet!
  1:44am
listener mark:

we love you meghan with an 'H'. please add me to your e-mail list.
  1:44am
stingy d:

meghan i am back now, the lies seem to have stopped. but we shall see meghan. ok meghan
  1:45am
Meghan:

Hmm I need to find where they are hiding that foot remover... Glad you are all enjoying... wish i didn't have to go so soon either... but damn Jet lag hitting in too... hopefully this will cure it!
  1:51am
Chuck:

I felt the same way about the Datsons as you do about Val Papadins. One CD and they disappeared. I wanted so much more from them. Check my library for them.
  1:57am
roger lee nester:

EVIDENTLY YOU ARE FROM ENGLAND --I DIDN'T KNOW THAT BEFORE--THANKS MEGHAN--LOVED IT
  1:59am
Meghan:

I am? That is news to me.... Nope, American... but I was always a sucker for English bands....
