Listener comments!

  12:07pm
Pearlÿ Sweets:

Nice strong open!
  12:11pm
Rob W:

New Extra Golden - very cool - this is the most fluid combination of their benga (Kenyan) and rock sides that I've heard. (They're playing Le Poisson Rouge, Bleecker St NY April 11.)
  12:11pm
ǾĤ Ŋ☼!:

quite right. that extra golden track was outstanding!
  12:11pm
1mckers:

Hell yar. This is bringing up my day's outlook.
  12:12pm
Lupica:

Awesome, Rob -- thanks for the particulars!
  12:14pm
Rob W:

Sure thing Mike! I should mention for non-NY listeners - (according to their myspace page) they're touring East Coast and Midwest US in April.
  12:15pm
JCityJensen:

HELLS YEAH - ITS LUPICA TIME BABY!

LET HEAR SOME DEATH!
  12:17pm
frenchee:

Hiya Mike, great to hear you--and Roxy Music--today.
  12:18pm
Sean Daily:

Eighth comment! Woo hoo!
  12:21pm
sugarwolf:

oh, I love Uptown Top Ranking.
  12:22pm
Glenn L:

What Sugarwolf said.
  12:24pm
sugarwolf:

I heard an Italian cover of it by... Cicciolina!!
  12:25pm
frenchee:

is that the former Mrs. Jeff Koons Cicciolina?
  12:29pm
sugarwolf:

the very one...
  12:30pm
1mckers:

Hey, I gotta go out. Don't break anything while I am out, okay?
  12:34pm
frenchee:

TOTAL Pavlovian response to your bed music/Vicki wakees!!
  12:44pm
Jeff M:

Howdy, neighbor. I need to get to brewing this "morning's" coffee, because I expect listening to this show in that groggy pre-coffee state will lead to some sort of dangerous energy-level dissonance.
  12:45pm
Glenn L:

Love the Janis sample.
  12:47pm
JCityJensen:

great set!
  12:48pm
Pearlÿ Sweets:

I was watching the video for window licker just the other day. I don't think I can seperate the two in my head now.
  12:52pm
-max-:

So let me get this straight Mike, is it pronounced "Lu-pi-ca" or "Lu-peek-a"?
  12:55pm
Lupica:

Chris T. is most qualified to answer that question, I think.
  1:01pm
JCityJensen:

SWEET MOTHER LOAD OF DEATH!

!!!¡¡¡YES¡¡¡!!!

THANK YOU LUPICA!
  1:08pm
Lupica:

FINALLY, I AM THE BRINGER OF DEATH.
  1:16pm
dave in vermont:

dude!
Your plea on the Anti-Static podcast totally swayed me into donating. I already wanted to but kept finding excuses. Thanks. I don't normall get to hear your on -air show.
  1:20pm
frenchee:

I love the WFMU fill-in season.
  1:20pm
fishmonkeystew:

My dog is a window licker. It's actually rather comical if you are on the other side of the window. Obnoxious, but comical.
  1:22pm
Jeff M:

I saw Johnny T'unders play a few months before he died -- dragged to the show by a friend who's a giant Dolls fan. He actually seemed pretty coherent -- if bored -- at the time, reputedly cleaned up some by someone he was dating. But then he died, of *something*.
  1:24pm
Sean Daily:

We like jangle-jangle guitars, Mike.
  1:25pm
Ike:

Yeah, Frenchee, it's like WFM2, or the FMU in a parallel universe.

Who dug that Death thing out of a landfill and reissued it? And why? Bleh, moldering cock rock should stay in the landfills. Here's one vote against Woody playing that. Also, WOODY! Yay. Also, "Kerosene"! Yay!
  1:36pm
The Answer Man:

Answer: Drag City.
Answer: To Make Ike Angry.
  1:40pm
Lupica:

Don't make Ike angry. The last time he got angry, he smashed up a very nice restaurant!
  1:44pm
Ike:

Lu-PEEK-a, I don't remember that. Was I on another bender? It must've been a fast food restaurant or an Olive Garden. I would never smash up a nice mom-and-pop joint.

Nothing to do in this town but set Death records on fire! The vinyl makes a nice sound when it melts.
  1:45pm
1mckers:

I'm back. What did I miss?
  1:50pm
still b/p:

You missed Marine Girls lying about having havin' the fever.
  1:51pm
Vernon:

meh <--- indifference
  1:54pm
megan:

ah, love
  1:54pm
Jess:

That's so sweet... I think.
  1:56pm
Ike:

I like this background music, and I'm not just being contrarian. I think. What is it, anyway?
  1:57pm
still p/s:

The units made Jandek change his name to Jandek. Thanks?
  2:02pm
JCityJensen:

ENDLESS BOOGIE too! Incredible set!
  2:05pm
Budgie:

Geeeezzzzzzzzzzz how much longer is this song geeeeeeeeeez
  2:07pm
Endless Budgie:

Yep. I just went there.
  2:12pm
Eternal Budgie:

Hail Satan!
  2:13pm
Parqkeet:

Help, this crazy bitch has turned me into a budgie!
  2:14pm
Budgie from Blectum:

Who want's to make some interspecies love with my hot bod?
  2:14pm
still b/p:

There are things that have got me RIGHT on the edge, Pearly-Squirrelly, and if parasitic nomenclature persists...I swear I...AM...GONNA...LOSE....IT...in a frantic, whirling spitting, meltdown. After lunch.
  2:16pm
Pearlÿ Sweets:

Does this mean we aren't friends anymore?
  2:25pm
still b/p:

Anagram of atonement: Pale Sewer Sty.
Use that for the week.
  2:27pm
Still Pale Sewer Stÿ:

I think this is going to take too long to write on a regular basis.
  2:28pm
Golden Sours:

How about I meet you half way?
  2:57pm
Sean Daily:

Last comment! Woo hoo!
  2:57pm
Greg from Detroit:

The Passions! I feel so lucky that I got to hear Barbara from the Passions sing this song last summer at Union Hall!
  2:57pm
Bäd R☺nald:

He\\o!
  3:01pm
Jon Solomon:

Sadly, the Disturbed and Warzone graffiti have been painted over.

I loved it when the hippies blacked out the word WAR in Warzone.

JS
  3:18pm
kramer:

Look what I just missed!
Interesting set list.
Niilson and Big Blak in the same show. Wow!!!
  1:56pm
