  12:03pm
dc pat:

  12:04pm
dc pat:

shit! stingy and I are on the same UFO!!
  12:06pm
dc pat:

Svenonius is pretty freakin influential. He doesn't get a lot of credit though. This sounds like him too.
  12:09pm
stingy d:

ha! nice call pat! and i agree wholeheartedly. he da bes.
  12:13pm
Pearly Sweets:

Hand jive wit' me!
  12:20pm
g g:

i was once in a band called pterodactyl rose...sure people think the t rex or the brontosaurus...but they tend to ignore the flying dinasaurs when naming a band
  12:21pm
Pearly Sweets:

I could drive to this Real Estate song.
  12:21pm
dc pat:

by the way, just saw chain and the gang here in dc and S was a the top of his game. Great show.
  12:22pm
Pearly Sweets:

Aw... that is a bummer that they didn't record it that way. I really liked the sound of it.
  12:22pm
Chris:

Man I was wondering about that Chain and the Gang thing, Couldn't make it. Comet must have been packed.
  12:25pm
dc pat:

  12:25pm
Pearly Sweets:

Aw... it is still adorable at regular speed!
  12:26pm
ta da:

the 45 ver was better
  12:27pm
Joe Steele:

Me thinks I shoulda been paying more attention.
  12:28pm
Pearly Sweets:

That I'll agree too, if just that it was more spacy with the chipmunk vocals.
  12:28pm
Pearly Sweets:

But regular speed was also a treat. So I'll be keeping an ear out for other real estate songs.
  12:28pm
Andrew:

Oh man King Khan was so good Saturday! I was dancin my tush off!
  12:29pm
ta da:

  12:30pm

  12:40pm

  12:40pm
stingy d:

  12:44pm
Jamed Malad:

Hello Ms. Berg!

Wanted to tell you i received your email! Thanks for taking the time to find that band for me. I have since contacted them myself. The when Mcgruff was king apparently has had their fair share of troubles as we all do. They assured me they would contact you to get some recordings heading your way, as well as send me copies!

Many thanks,

Jamed Malad Esq.
  12:45pm
mark:

  1:00pm
GP:

If anyone here remembers that movie "Spinal Tap". I saw those guys this weekend on their "Unwigged and Unplugged" tour. They were pretty funny and played a bunch of stuff from all of their movies...anyway
  1:06pm
ta da:

remember spinal tap!?!?! i dont know how many times i watched that movie in high school.
  1:07pm
ta da:

well not actually in the school
  1:09pm
owen:

quite. i dont just remember spinal tap; could probably recite the entire film...
  1:12pm
phillip2167:

hey that was a rockin good song, but i dont know if it was druid perfume or king kahn and the shrines:(
  1:13pm
GP:

I was pleasantly surprised that they are all actually pretty good musicians. Christopher Guest was playing a Mandolin for a few songs. Harry Shearer also was playing upright bass and electric bass ( I guess not entirely "unplugged").
  1:17pm
Parq:

Mark, I have family by marriage in Santander, some in the city and some in the Entrambasaguas area. What part are you in? And I, too, am genetically imprinted with the dialog from "Spinal Tap".
  1:17pm
ta da:

not as funny but good was their satire of folk music - but cant remember the title
  1:18pm
GP:

"A Mighty Wind" was their folk song documentary
  1:23pm
Marshall Stacks:

Harry Shearer had some amusing pre-tour anecdotes on his show, Le Show. Le Show is worth a listen; I subscribe to the podcast.
  1:24pm
ta da:

ST much more funny than any ben stiller or judd (judge?) appatow(?)
  1:25pm
ta da:

uh oh, im becoming nostalgic....thank god liz's music keeps me rooted in the present
  1:31pm
detroitdave:

What is this?????? Sounds like "expletive used here". is the record skipping??
  1:32pm

  1:32pm
GP:

Marshall Stacks, Thanks, I'll have to check it out.

Ta Da, 10-4 on that.
  1:36pm
Marshall Stacks:

See, nothing wrong with a little Steely Dan every now and then.
  1:41pm
Bad Ronald:

Somber Reptiles?
  1:45pm
Parq:

Sorry I just had a pizza, I'm from northern england and getting the ferry to Santander, I prefer cycling to flying, shame its expensive, my friends flying london to barca for £40 return...
  1:53pm
Ike:

Parq isn't from northern England and doesn't say "return" for "round-trip." Is that the mirror-universe bearded evil British Parq?
  1:56pm
mb:

Thanks for the OY Liz B.! I was pulling through the drive thru, cracking up. Grassy ass.
  2:04pm
HotRod:

Hey Liz! Did you go see King Khan this past weekend? They killed it at Maxwells this past Saturday night! :D
  2:07pm
Parq:

Ike, no, it's Mark, putting my name in the "name" space intead of making it the first word of the message. Like, if I had non-thinkingly put "Ike" in the name line. Mark, knowing how mountainous Cantabria is, I'm impressed by your biking through it.
  2:17pm
Ike:

Hey, anybody else been to the awesome Mexican/Latin food trucks at the Red Hook Ballfields on Saturdays and Sundays? They're amazing. I tried some great carne asada tacos, goat tacos, huarache, papas rellenos, loroco flower pupusas, tamarind drink, etc. etc. etc. We need food trucks like that in Newark.

This show keeps getting better and better, Liz! Wow.
  2:18pm
Liz B.:

Didn't make it out to see King Khan on Sat unfortunately... seen 'em before though, fun fun band to see live!
  2:20pm
GP:

Ike...shhhhhhhhh...hungry here.
  2:21pm
Liz B.:

Love the food at the Red Hook ballpark... Went there a few summers ago and bought something yummy from each cart! Ceviche for $5!
  2:24pm
dc pat:

Ike: eat the pig!

Man I love U.S. Girls
  2:26pm
Parq:

Second US Girls play today. Prompted me to go back and read Scott W''s blog post on them, or actually, on her. Pretty cool person.
  2:27pm
Ike:

This time, the ceviche was the only disappointing thing. Very cool chef Adeena Sussman figured that the easternmost truck added the lime juice beforehand, too early, instead of adding it at the time of purchase. But the second-from-easternmost truck was squeezing in lime when purchased, so it's probably better there. It's up to $7 now.

DC Punk, oh yeah, I had pork in my loroco flower and jalapeno pupusas.
  2:32pm
GP:

Parq, is that on Beware of the Blog? I heard US Girls (Megan) live on FMU but I don't remember which show.
  2:36pm
Parq:

GP, for the Girl that goes "boom" and Scott's adventure with same, see this and ye shall see all.

http://tinyurl.com/boomsw
  2:38pm
GP:

Thanks Parq..IT police have me lock out of that site..I'll check it out at home.
  2:43pm
dc pünk:

I said eat the PIG! not pork..
  2:46pm
E.L.:

I freak out every time I hear this S.M. Dorsey HS track.
  2:47pm
What!:

GO TEAM GO! "What did you play in high school band"?
"Wha-wah pedal".
  2:51pm
Woody:

Hey Liz-

Great upbeat show for a gray day! I like this African calypso track in particular.
  2:51pm
mark:

yeah soz that was me, hmm, I've cycling over the pennines but there pretty pathetic to european hills, I'll probably get the train a bit of the way, if you buy a good bike (only £300) it ain't too bad

btw dunno when ur flying out but its the European Champions League final on the 27th, Barcalona will probably be in it, should be an interesting night if you like (proper) football, think I might sit in a spanish bar with a Man Utd shirt
  2:53pm
What!:

Anyone: please defeat any Spanish team, ever, at anything. Please.
  2:55pm
mark:

man utd will win for sure and england will win the 2010 world cup!
  2:57pm
mic:

  2:59pm
