  11:01am
annie:

i didn't see it til i was in my 20s. i have seen it about ten times now. still freaky...
  11:03am
cecile:

My friend.
It was banned for years.
I saw it as an adult, and found it horrifying, not because of the freaks, though. The humans were the monsters.
A really straight "mom" type borrowed it from my friend, and she thought it was a great movie, if strange. She said "I couldn't stop watching it, and it was really moving."
  11:05am
annie:

funny, i can't recall if i let my son see it. i'll have to ask him. we saw so much, pretty liberal with media in our house, so maybe we did.
  11:07am
bw:

one of my first memories of hangin with neer do wells watching this movie in someones basement - the guy is now a born again christian with a giant tattoo of bloody jesus on his back.. if Iever see him again I will chant.. one.. of.. heh
  11:07am
marquan:

  11:08am
bw:

it was FLYING HIGH!!
  11:08am
annie:

my favorite scene is near the end as they are crawling under the trailer.. like the monster under your bed
  11:10am
John Today:

Not Even Close to Making the First Remark on the page! Whoop Whoop!
  11:13am
Parq:

Yeah, more bandie nostalgia.
  11:16am
Parq:

"Freaks" is one of those movies that have managed to evade me my whole life. First heard of it when I first got to college in Boston, where it was standard midnight fare. "Man, that sounds cool, I gotta see that!" said I. That was 35 years ago.
  11:16am
Jilly Yams:

hey BenW - good seeing U last week. Thanks for offer to loan me one of those Flip cameras. Wot up BadRonald!
  11:24am
Cecile:

hola Bill.E.Jam
  11:25am
232:

You know that movie "Freaks" is being remade
  11:26am
bw:

staring Nic Cage I hope!
  11:29am
BSI:

ah! Just got back from a session with a mad centipede's bed-wetting psychodrama... what did I miss?
  11:31am
still b/p:

mad centipede's bed-wetting psychodrama = good name for a boat.
  11:33am
Ting Tings:

mad centipede's bed-wetting psychodrama, that's not my name! That's not my name
  11:36am
dc pat:

I like movies and all but I don't like being cooped up in a theater either.
  11:36am
cecile:

want to see star trek movie
so bad
  11:37am
jneil:

STAR TREK 90210?

Feh.
  11:38am
Ike:

I saw it. It was a fun summer action movie. "Fake Spock" does a good job. It could've used some social commentary like the real old ST but what are ya gonna do?
  11:40am
dc pat:

man I gotta say, I think the original Star Trek show was excellent but other than that, forget it. I just can't get into sequels and remakes, etc. Come up with some new ideas, filmmakers!
  11:40am
Cecile:

Yes. Yes. I know

IKE. Now I have to see it. We have free passes from a f'ed up showing of Coraline this spring.
  11:40am
BSI:

He's gonna be back with entrails? What?
  11:41am
cecile:

hollies cover!
  11:42am
Cecile:

dcp, Deep Space Nine is my favorite Trek, actually.
Dark, really textured, actually talks about racism and theocracy.
  11:44am
bebopgun:

i prefer to smoke and watch cartoons
  11:45am
annie:

i stopped watching the space series when they got stupid with alien costumes.. like the bar scene in star wars..
  11:45am
bw:

im a clown suit kind of guy annie
  11:46am
frenchee:

Hi BW!

I love this song, any and all versions. This one's nifty.
  11:46am
dc pat:

yeah, what happened to klingons? I liked them when they were just swarthy.
  11:47am
annie:

see, aliens in clown suits would be fun.. right pat... once they became members of the federation, they tamed and became weak.
  11:49am
Ike:

CECILE! I love DS9 too. Real character conflict, and characters who seemed like real people.

But did you get to see Coraline properly? That was a brilliant movie, best thing I've seen in a while. New ST is fun but sure isn't THAT great.
  11:49am
cecile:

they had to ret-con the fiction and movies so much when the bumpy heads showed up I tell you
  11:49am
dc pat:

...and their foreheads got big and bumpy
  11:50am
bw:

Im gonna see Coraline the STephen Merrit musical this week!
  11:51am
Cecile:

Yes. In 3-D. Nice. Would have been nicer if stupid theater didn't foul up the showing and the lights and the screen.

Yes Ike, at the end, you even felt empathy for super baddie Gul Dukat
  11:54am
cecile:

Great. I just dowloaded like $10 of remixes of "that's not my name."

help me
  11:57am
Cecile:

they call me Tuvok, they call me Phlox, they call me Sulu, that's not my name.
  11:57am
GP:

BW thanks for the informative comic...always wondered what REALLY happened to the dinosaurs...Morning one and all.
  11:57am
dc pat:

why do Movie Star Junkies sound so familiar?
  11:57am
annie:

wow, where did the morning go??
  11:58am
Ike:

Actually I thought they screwed up the ending by making it too black-and-white, but Dukat was always fascinating up until then. He was really deluded enough to think he was helping people during the Occupation.

I got sick of "That's Not My Name" after hearing it about four times.
  11:58am
dc pat:

I dunno annie, but I'm hungry...later.
  11:58am
bw:

bye yall!!!
  10:31am
eunji:

Hola benjamen!!! I thought today was monday there...
I'll listen to your show tomorrow- xx
