Normally the word "quaalude" has two "A"s. But in this case, it's a proper name, so who knows? And can anybody think it through very clearly after all that? I'm woozy.
  3:20pm
yo yo yo:

BillyJam:

to those tuning in to hear the intended "Live from Belfast" show, my apologies - due to several factors that broadcast had to cancelled at last minute. A make up show of sorts will come down the line.....This prerecorded show is a melange of mixes by my alter ego (DJ Quaalude) and stuff I recorded on the streets of New York City over past month with the cool as fuck WFMU Wav file recorder - a SONY PCM 50....There will also be some ol skool NYC hip hop radio and music and some classic NY/NJ/CHhi-town house circa 88 + a special 4:19 break coming up....Thanks for listening..>>WFMU RULEZ
  3:22pm

BillyJam:

what up Spidey in the UK! Hey Jeff Mullan thanks for board-oping and always been the man. Hey GP - yeah that machine comes with two lovely inbulit mics that can be moved to various directions. What is great about it is the clean sounding directional accuracy that it offers. IE you can point it across the street at two people talking and turn up the record level and it will pick it up perfectly
  3:34pm
dc pat:

gads, that sounds like heaven! Gotta git one of those...DOH! $600!!
  3:35pm

  3:40pm
Cranky Ole Jam:

actually Benj.Walker told me of a place up on 34th Street where they have these machines on sale for $450 and that comes with the wind muffler (the furry looking cap that usually sells for $50) that is (as Scott Williams first told me) a necessity for outdoor recording.....There are also two other simialr (cheaper) other brands (avail at J&R and online) for about $270 and $370.....To Cranky Ol Lady - there will be music later in show.....But this is music to my ears......and only a special place like WFMU would allow me to air it...
  3:43pm

I like the field recordings a lot as well. And mixed in with the ambient sounds and effects gives the whole thing a surreal quality, like there are some kind of digital angels singing on the street corners in NYC.
