NPR has like ... long division questions
  7:35pm
irene:

but no way would i argue with someones mom!
  7:36pm
Vicki:

  7:37pm
DJ Empirical:

you don't do the maths on the mic do you? :)
  7:37pm
Doug:

Hey, where did this thirwell come from ...
  7:37pm

  7:41pm
keith:

Vicki- your specific brand of madness has been missed. Glad you're back on the airwaves.
  7:41pm
Seamus:

Vedalia onion farmer's mix no doubt.
  7:42pm
Ike:

Wait, shouldn't "yous here" be spelled "youse here"? Or should it? Well, it definitely doesn't have an apostrophe anyway. Why do I always imagine it being said in a cheesy fake Italian-American mobster accent whenever anybody types it, even though people of many accents say "yous"? Ah, New Jersey.
  7:43pm
Phil:

Welcome back - this is GREAT!
  7:43pm
Vicki:

oh but I wrote it in England, so it's OK, plus it's tomorrow here.
  7:43pm
Vicki:

thanks Phil!
  7:44pm
Dave B in NYC:

me likeee - welcome back, and thanks for the mayhem! (my neighbors LOVE "Do or DIY" - and if they don't, phuggem!)
  7:44pm
Jordan:

what's better--the mixing or the actually-finding-the-sounds?
  7:45pm
DJ Empirical:

Ike, here in the greater Cincinnati area i've heard people say "youse" (or however it's spelled) quite a few times. it's always weird.
  7:45pm
Vicki:

wow, so many people coming in and saying hi - thanks :)
  7:45pm
Vicki:

oh definitely finding them.
  7:49pm
Seamus:

Nurse With Wound downloads are impossible to find!
  7:49pm
Vicki:

try blogspot
  7:49pm
G:

Cincinnati and other areas just north of the Ohio River are considered midlands (half southern) in american dialect terms. the region was settled by virginians and kentickians of virginia in the early 19th century. you know cincinnati was called Porkopolis for its pig slaughtering industry along the river in the early 1800s...
  7:51pm
Seamus:

Danka Vicki
  7:51pm
Ike:

No apostrophe impunity for any country, no matter how sexy their accents are!
http://apostropheabuse.com

Seamus, mmm, Vidalia onions are awesome.
  7:52pm
Vicki:

sorry, apostrophe :)
  7:52pm
irene:

you know there are more pigs than people in north carolina
  7:53pm
skip:

probably turkeys too...
  7:53pm
DJ Empirical:

G, the Porkopolis thing is unmissable around here, the city (and the denizens) slap pig drawings and imagery on every-g.d.-thing.
  7:54pm
Vicki:

Irene, I just don't know what to say. Except I'm very sorry.
  7:56pm
DJ Empirical:

Spencer (Yeh) is a friend of mine. good one!
  7:56pm
Vicki:

my premium prize would be an entrance carpet with the year's comments to my show printed on it
  7:57pm
Vicki:

ask Spencer to send me some stuff, like
  7:57pm
irene:

well i dont see them much
  7:57pm
Ironing:

bland & happy! WOOOOOOO!
  7:58pm
Vicki:

two of you in here know Spencer
  7:59pm
Ironing:

lovely song, ram on
  7:59pm
irene:

yes guessing there are a few of us
  8:00pm
Vicki:

hey how many of you are actually ON that RRR REcord?
  8:00pm
Vicki:

everyone I ask is on it - byeeee!!
  8:01pm
G:

Cincy was the only city in the midwest (west of Pennsylvania) when it was still called the "northwest" of the country, Chicago was a twinkle in the eye, and no anglos lived west of the Mississippi. Mrs Trollope (the Victorian novelist's mom, and the original writer) slated it something awful when she toured through it back in the day. Glad to hear it's not changed much :-P

Great show, Vicki -- welcome back...
  8:02pm
Vicki:

thanks all - see you next week
  8:02pm
DJ Empirical:

irene are you the irene i know? :)
  8:02pm
DJ Empirical:

yes ta very much, Vicki!
