Listener comments!

  6:03am
Vicki:

mornig!
  6:04am
mike:

'Allo!
  6:12am
Vicki:

are you doing a Ballet Special?
  6:18am
Tom [G] in Dub:

Top o' the mornin' to ya!
  6:19am
mike:

Smart Tom! The day just got a whole lot better.
  6:22am
marion:

new to this show. was plastering the hole in the wall. came back to the computer to see what was that sudden change of atmosphere in the house all about.
fun stuff you're playing here.
good morning.
  6:25am
mike:

Thanks, Marion. Good morning to you too. I will try to think of something plaster-appropriate to play shortly!
  6:29am
Vicki:

How about the White Stripes. Probably not Whitehouse though, eh Mike?
  6:31am
marion:

yeah, or something perseverance-enhancing.
plaster got hard too fast, got to start all over again.
glad my tidbits give you a DJ challenge.
  6:32am
mike:

NEVER CHALLENGE THE DJ, VICKI
  6:34am
mike:

Nobody here wants to hear "Plaster Caster", I'm going to assume. I know I don't!
  6:34am
Vicki:

The Green Door then :)
  6:38am
Tom [G] in Dub:

I've done a lot of plastering, I'll handle this. Marion, can you see the red button that says "Balance Underride"? Good. Now don't press that whatever else happens. Now you're going to need some duct tape to close the alligator's mouth and some 10WD40 for the carburator. Got it? Good. Now slowly tilt your head back making sure you don't spill any grenadine on your shirt. Then just turn the wheel towards justice and sit back and wait for a strong westerly wind.
  6:42am
marion:

@Tom [G] in Dub
it worked !
  6:42am
paul:

john cale! thanks a bunch that was great. got to head to bed now. thnx for making work a little more bearable here in nz
P
  6:48am
marion:

Brenda Khan! now you sold me!
guess i'll be tuning in on monday mornings now
;)
  6:50am
mike:

So the lesson here: The dual powers of plastering tips and obscure 80s anti-folk artists = proven audience building technique. ONWARD.
  6:56am
Joshua K:

I thought for a second this boss hog song was a devo cover before the vocals started.
  6:58am
Tom [G] in Dub:

@ Marion: What a relief! I haven't plastered since OJ was big.
  8:01am
marion:

plastering done, room clean, hello painter's tape!
loving this monday morning soundtrack !
  8:34am
Tom [G] in Dub:

Dude, you are on fire! And in spite of that, the pain, the screaming, you manage to consistently, even relentlessly, raise the bar. I'm not kidding, that Deano made me move in my swivel chair. I usually go the whole week without moving. They don't really encourage us to move.
  8:36am
Irwin:

Woooo-wooooooo!!!! First comment after 8:36!
  8:40am
mike:

Thanks, Tom. Would you believe that this is the first radio show I've ever done which I am NOT prepared for with my massive arsenal of swivelchair songs?

Also, Irwin: I played that record you gave me five years ago at the top of the show. Why did you give me that again?
  8:47am
Irwin:

Girl Hunt Ballet -- because of it's noir aura. Score for terrific Astaire & Cyd Charisse choreography in the film Band Wagon.
  8:49am
mike:

Ahh, yes. Now I remember. Speaking of noir auras, did you ever read that Pelecanos book I gave you?
  8:51am
Irwin:

Actually the occasion I gave it to you was the FMU rec fair. We each decided to buy the other a recommended album. I gave you that MGM collection, and five years later you gave me the BellRays' Grand Fury.
  8:55am
Irwin:

The Pelecanos book is on my nightstand, as yet unread. Got out of the habit of reading before bedtime. Now I just collapse with exhaustion and put the brain to sleep.
