  7:15pm
Jeff M:

Gracious, good to have the diva back.

Hey, apropos of nothing (except perhaps some Texas swing earlier, putting me in mind of cowboy music) I just heard that the Woodstock organizers had originally hoped the last act could be Roy Rogers singing "Happy Trails"! Wouldn't that have been a trip?
  7:17pm
texas scott:

the cherry on top,JeffM
  7:21pm
CB2:

Since Woodstock seems a theme tonight - seemed sad as CB1 drove by last night and the Bethel Woods Art Center (aka orignal site) had a huge electronic flashing sign that read "SOLD OUT".

Great show as always, Monica, but allow me to fact-check you: Mike Curb was never the governor of California. He was lieutenant governor, although not until the late 1970s, long after Nixon was out of the White House. For what it's worth...

Jeff M:

Just wondering... do you or the station have the recent CD from the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble? (Actually, just checked -- looks like it appears on about 12 DJs' playlists! -- there's no getting anything by that crew.)

Anyway, I commend it to your attention. A sort of big jazz band kind of collective thing, and one cool characteristic is that when they all get to going there can be a big, little-bit-loose brass sound that's strongly reminiscent of, while not exactly like, some of that marching-band stuff you're fond of.
