Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

Cigar Men in Madison Square Park
I errantly lost two interviews in Columbus Circle due to technical malfunctions. I was distraught, as the interviews were with two Republicans, one of which bordered on Town Hall-ish in intensity. So ... I went out in search of suits and cigars and all things conservative ... not always easy in Manhattan.

Throwin' The Clip
Another show in the can. I enjoyed getting out and pushing further uptown in Manhattan as I generally hang out below Times Square. I guess I was hoping for an Election Night kind of vibe. In all honesty it was more sedate than I'd hoped. While there were certainly compelling people and stories to be found, the overall tenor of the event was a bit subdued. The magic does seem to have faded and people are obviously worried that Obama is dropping the ball. Time will tell.

I was also hoping for a bit more "Town Hall" type dissent to "spice things up," but that boiled down to one guy racing by on foot yelling, "You're runing this country!" I taped him, and lost it on a technical error. THAT was frustrating.

I did conclude one thing from all of this. I think I have fallen prey to the journalistic tendency to seek out the loud and the crazy and the sensational. Perhaps I even feel compelled to find that "someone" each week. It makes me understand the appeal of the FAR right and the FAR Left. It makes for more interesting TV and Radio. But, it is surely not representative of the better part of Americans. I think underneath it all I fear boring the crap out of you, which I'm probably doing with all this political content lately. Let me know. I am always interested in your opinions and thoughts. E-Mail me. I love hearing from the listeners.

Until next time, have a great week and ... always remember.
