Listener comments!

  6:02am
DBinNYC:

good morning.
  6:03am
Meghan:

Morning DB! You beat Chuck in comments!
  6:03am
Chuck:

Morning all! What's up Doc?
  6:04am
Meghan:

Morning Chuck!
  6:05am
Chuck:

"Beat" me? Didn't know it was a contest...
  6:06am
Meghan:

hehe.... you are usually the first one up with me.... hence the "beat".
  6:08am
Chuck:

Oh. I've been up since 4:30, too much to do today got the wheels in my head turning...
  6:08am
DBinNYC:

up since 5:30 or so...
:-/
  6:09am
Meghan:

I had a dream that shot me awake at 3:50... I thought I slept through the show!
  6:11am
Chuck:

Hope that's not an omen! How many shows are left before the fall change up?
  6:12am
Meghan:

The dream wasn't about me sleeping through.... but it triggered the freak out button in me... hehe. Ummm I have 4 more.....
  6:15am
Chuck:

Has the fall line up been settled? Is it possible you'll be able to continue? UWTP has become part of my weekly ritual... hehe...
  6:16am
Meghan:

The applications came out last week and I have mine with me today to hand in... so we shall see! I find out at the end of the month
  6:17am
Chuck:

All fingers and toes are crossed for ya!
  6:17am
Meghan:

Thanks! I can only ask for so much!
  6:20am
Chuck:

Well, there's always the podcast to fall back on...
  6:22am
Joshua K:

It was me, over here. Dr whoooo
  6:23am
Chuck:

Lots of songs with blue in the title... Much material to choose from there. I still like a bug theme too...
  6:24am
Meghan:

Yay! Thanks Joshua! What was the other theme we suggested it all on?
  6:25am
Joshua K:

That whole song was created pre-electronic synths by splicing tape and adjusting speeds etc. by Delia Derbyshire.

I think it was the time one, because I automatically was thinking time travel cause I am a nerd.
  6:27am
Meghan:

That's right! I was having a total brain fart on that....
  6:29am
Joshua K:

I had to think for a minute, almost forgot how it came about myself.
  6:32am
Meghan:

IF i get my show renewed, I can do the insect theme after the Blue theme.... If not, I gotta find a good last show.....
  6:34am
Joshua K:

I guess songs with goodbye/farewell theme would be too obvious.
  6:35am
Chuck:

Blue would be a good last show... Again lots of songs to choose from...
  6:35am
Meghan:

Well, I won't be fully gone... just back into fill in status... where I could be on at random times.....
  6:36am
Joshua K:

When I was doing a podcast I would always end with the Pizzicato Five song "Thank You"
  6:37am
DBinNYC:

a coda themed show... nothing but codas

"the concluding passage of a piece or movement, typically forming an addition to the basic structure."
  6:39am
Meghan:

Well.... I do have in my brain file of upcoming shows a show that are instrumentals..... I'll have you Guest DJ for a coda show... how about that.... hehe

And I love Pizzicato Five.... great way to end a show!
  6:40am
DBinNYC:

bring it on!
  6:41am
Meghan:

Woohoo!
  6:41am
Chuck:

PG should be tuned in! Didn't get to speak to him last night... VKR is having there pledge drive this week...
  6:42am
Meghan:

Yeah.... pledge drives are draining.... I am already trying to think of a premium for this show if it continues....
  6:44am
Chuck:

Ever consider coming up with an UWTP logo? You could have buttons, tee shirts and stuff made...
  6:45am
Joshua K:

Need a theme show with all theme songs.
  6:51am
Meghan:

That was one idea for a premium... a theme based premium.... As for a logo, that was going to be the first thing i was going to work on, as a contest, if I get extended.... Buttons might be cheap to do.... but stuff like t-shirts get paid for out of dj's pockets....
  6:54am
Chuck:

I understand. My friend Stuart, leader of the Greyhounds, has a t-shirt printing shop. He may be able to cut you a deal, if that's what you want to do...
  6:56am
Joshua K:

I think shut up weirdo had buttons made by a fan
  6:56am
Meghan:

Ohhhh, I will keep that in mind! Did Shut Up Weirdo have buttons? I only saw their calendars....
  6:58am
Chuck:

Reggae is such good medicine!
  6:59am
Meghan:

It is..... I love when i get to play it on the show..... it makes me happy. Jeff and I would listen to Reggae Schoolroom on Sunday mornings all the time in the winter to cheer us up
  7:03am
Joshua K:

The shut up weirdo buttons were just a present sent that they give away as show prizes i think. Wasn't premium related but maybe that guy could make some.
  7:07am
Chuck:

I can smell da cheez already!!!
  7:08am
DBinNYC:

Glad you liked the FFF!

:-)
  7:09am
Chuck:

Jeez! I think we had this on a 72RPM record when I was a kid!
  7:10am
Meghan:

Ha! Awesome!
  7:13am
Meghan:

hmmmm making me think Joshua.... it kinda hurts... but making me think....
  7:20am
Parq:

Hellooooo nurse!
  7:20am
Chuck:

Ha! Bananarama, one of the cheeziest bands of the fab '80s! Gotta love it!
  7:20am
Meghan:

hehe.... all I can think of is Animaniacs when I see that.....

I promised cheese through the ages!
  7:24am
Chuck:

If only there was a Culture Club song to fit the theme... LOL!!!
  7:25am
Meghan:

or Duran Duran.... or Cyndi Lauper.... maybe I will have an 80's day here on the show one day.....
  7:26am
Dum Dum Guy at the Gates:

mornin'
  7:26am
Chuck:

That works for me!
  7:27am
of Dawn:

too early
  7:29am
Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

Think only positive thoughts. We were sending you props on the listener comments during Ken's show. He'll play ball if he knows what's good for him and us.
  7:31am
Meghan:

Go Dum Dum!!!! And Good Morning!
  7:33am
Chuck:

Is Humble Pie in this set?
  7:34am
Meghan:

it WAS! But I had to dump some songs last minute..... to fit in time....
  7:35am
Meghan:

*giggles* I was just thinking, watch Dum Dum get me a better time slot!
  7:35am
Chuck:

That's okay, I have the song anyway...
  7:37am
Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

Let's not go overboard. Yesterday Ken claimed to be beating himself over the head with a metal bat. Who knows what mental state he is in know.
  7:38am
Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

now
  7:40am
Meghan:

hmmmm it does make you wonder....
  7:41am
Chuck:

I could put together a mega version of Veronica to shut 'em down if they don't continue you show, you know! HA!
  7:43am
Meghan:

You know... part of me would LOVE to see that..... Oh Veronica... you have a special place in my heart....
  7:46am
Joshua K:

I'm feeling so mod
  7:47am
Meghan:

I want to ride around on my Vespa.... wait, I need to get one first......
  7:48am
Chuck:

Funny Joshua K, I was feeling so rocker...
  7:53am
Parq:

Actually, Megs, "Mod" would be a pretty good theme if you get renewed.
  7:54am
Chuck:

Another funny thing. The bass player of my band Dave Rice has been given the nickname "The Doctor" by me! His initials are DR after all!
  7:54am
Meghan:

it would be a fun theme.... really good songs....
  8:06am
Chuck:

Yay! DC5 has so many great songs in their catalogue that no one plays anymore.. Thanks for putting them on!
  8:07am
Meghan:

I think i played them in a past show as well.... I can't remember... I forget what I play since I edit so much out of the show.... They are really good!
  8:09am
jeff p:

finally here!
  8:10am
Meghan:

Yay Jeff! You missed the Rawk..... so sad
  8:13am
jeff p:

i see that. nugent and sabbath... from technical ecstacy none the less!
  8:13am
Michael:

Hey Meghan--I just got to work and tuned in; I love your inventive playlists...planning to do any Dr. John today?
  8:15am
Meghan:

Morning Michael! No Dr John.... going into a contemporary set next! Glad you are enjoying it!
  8:17am
Chuck:

I think I'd call this a "rockin' blues" set, Meg. For lack of a better term...
  8:19am
jeff p:

fuck yeah!
  8:21am
Chuck:

Of course, everyone know what TARDIS stands for don't they?
  8:28am
jeff p:

gah. pesky work getting in the way of my listening to your show again. gg ttyl!
  8:28am
Meghan:

Bye Jeff!
  8:30am
Chuck:

Tah, jeff p... These guys sound a bit like Interpol, or visa versa...
  8:31am
Meghan:

Yeah the Editors do have an Interpol sound to them.... I have grown to love them a lot...
  8:33am
Chuck:

How long have they been around? This is my first listen to them and liked that song a lot as well...
  8:35am
Meghan:

hmmmm since 2006 for their first record.
  8:36am
Chuck:

Looks like I've found my next CD purchase... Got any other recommendations?
  8:38am
Meghan:

Have you checked out the Organ? or Metric? You'd like both of them....
  8:40am
Parq:

B/t/w, I was down to dig Sideshows By the Seashore this past weekend. Got to see them go through their eyebrow-raising paces, and then stuck around 'til the evening to see the original silent Jekyl & Hyde with live piano accompaniment.
  8:42am
Chuck:

I'll make it a point to check them out. YOU were generally my "go to" person for what's good in new music. Tom and Scott also. I'm sort of out of the loop living here in the stix...
  8:42am
Meghan:

oh wow! I didn't know they did that! cool! Did you see Donny Vomit, who does the opening for my show? He's the one with the amazing moustache.....
  8:48am
bosco meow:

Morning... Glad to see you on the air again.. bow wow
  8:48am
Meghan:

Morning Timmeow
  8:52am
rick:

Impressive working of the theme. How about Dr. Wu? I would prefer the Minutemen cover, but there is the Steely Dan original.
  8:53am
Parq:

OMG, I can't believe I didn't think of Dr. Worm! Meg, we saw Donny do unspeakable things with a power drill, and also juggle. Also saw Chrissie Cocktail, Heather Holiday, Serpentina and the Black Scorpion.
  8:56am
Chuck:

I have a song with Meghan in the title! I'll send it...
  8:57am
Meghan:

Send me it!!!! I need to play one song with my own damn name!
  11:59pm
Ben:

Hearing on archive a couple of days later. Great show!
  4:40am
Scraps:

Omigod, no “Doctor Wu” by Steely Dan?? Or even the cover by the Minutemen....
