Danne D:

Awesome start, Marty. I love this song :)
  2:04am
Danne D:

Or Kurt, or Brother Lucy as it were. I'm now befuddled :)
  2:05am
Joshua K:

All these DJs getting fill ins this past month. I don't know who to expect anymore.
  2:07am
Joe:

Mr. Gottschalk, I very much miss your show being broadcast over the airwaves, and Podcasts confuse me. So glad to hear you again.

To yous mugs: Fill-in's are the best because the fill-in always brings their A-game
  2:07am
Danne D:

I generally expect to discover cool new DJs :)
  2:08am
Joshua K:

Its WFMU, so even the fill-ins are top notch.
  2:10am
Joe:

It's especially best when they get somebody who used to be on the air before I started listening regularly, and then they rock, so then there's a whole new archive to explore*

*waste massive amounts of time in.

Danne D:

Anyone Keili thinks highly of is good by me, Kurt :)

Voof - I have it from a ska compilation called Ska Wars (which I bought for a friend as a housewarming gift and actually was testing to make sure it didn't suck and ended up keeping it and buying him a 2nd copy).

Even AllMusic doesn't have a helluva lot about them.

Okay I managed to dig up the Ska Wars CDs themselves - and THEY don't really have anything.

Seems to say mid-90s English 3rd Wave Ska.

Their myspace only has 1 friend as hasn't been logged in since '05 (with one song there) Though there's a nice song on there.

Anyhow, that's a fun insomniac diversion but I must sleep.

This is a beautiful rendition of Love Train. I will be digging through the 'chive for sure, Kurt. Have a great morning :)

Joshua K:

I was listening to this 3 CD compilation I bought in the 90s called "Don't Call Me Ska-Face" the other day. Its a weird mix of traditional and newer ska with live tracks mixed in... possibly bootleg,
  2:39am
Kurt:

Thanks for the research, Danne. I think Arthur K must have 2 myspace pages. I put a link on the playlist for one with more songs (and more friends!).
  2:40am
Danne D:

OOPS! I stayed up to hear this song too!
  2:42am

Kurt is Greater Than or Equal to Marty:

Post what book you're reading! Or what book you're writing! I just started "Manual of Painting and Calligraphy" by Jose Saramago. It's a novel, despite the title. I <3 Saramago.

The songs're gonna start getting long now...
  3:29am
Joshua K:

I'm browsing amazon for free Kindle titles. Theres a NASCAR romance novel called "Speed Dating"
  4:25am
Joshua K:

Have you ever seen Jim O'Rourke live? I saw him with Stereolab, that was the most amazing show ever.
