re: that first comment
i meant that as a compliment

i'll go away

you know your show is a cross between Bryce and Dj Trouble
  9:34pm
and sometimes:

a little wm. berger thrown in for good measure
  9:35pm
dave:

REALLY like this Taxonomy piece. the opening drony bit was so subtle i had trouble separating it from street/airplane noise. i love when that happens.
  9:35pm
edzepp@yahoo.com:

Hello Bethany,
welcome back,. great show!
Anthony Braxton has written some string quartets..
.peace
  9:44pm
Ike:

More like a cross between Bryce (and 1990s Wm. Berger) in a dress, with just some ethereal traces of DJ Trouble. No wait, that's not right. Damn it.

Seriously though, there is no comparing Bethany to anything else. The incidence of Bethany is stochastic. And aurally eternal.

texas scott:

as it should be,ike.

as it should be.
  9:56pm
Andrei:

Hey, love the station. Could you play some of the earlier Dirty Projectors? This song reminds me of them.
Thanks! -Andrei in Rochester, NY

David P.:

Hi Bethany. These are all beautiful musics! What songs have you been playing for your talk over? 1st one and 2nd? Both excellent!
  10:05pm
David P.:

Whoa! That's so funny. Helen Mirra is my cousin. It's true. Crazy!

  10:33pm
David Pistash:

god, i'm thankful i am sober enough to listen to Rpbert Ashley (whoa, i think i just heard him say tw*t). Aren't loops fun? keep it going Bethany, you are kicking ass up and down the set list.
Once again, thanks for grizzly bear's "dory."

Harvest moon was really beautiful!

David P:

Crazy coincidence that Helen Mirra is your cousin! Please mention to her that I'm interested in knowing what she's up to these days.

To answer your question: first talk-over piece was Radiohead, a bonus track from the OK Computer sessions. Was around a long time ago as a 'B-side' on a CD single, but is one of the bonus cuts on the deluxe editions recently released.
  10:57pm
bethany:

...and to answer the second part of your question (sorry!), the secondmic break was supported by Brian Eno's "Deep Blue Day." And...why not?....the third break was Andrew Bird's "Skin" from the Album Weather Systems.
  11:10pm
David P.:

Helen's teaching at Harvard - last time I saw her was in Berlin two years ago - she was showing art and teaching at one of the universities. I'll let her know you played Field Geometries. I know she's a fan of the 'MU.
  11:28pm
David Pistash:

"Meeting In the Aisle" by Radiohead off of "Karma Police - EP" if anyone wants the song that was mentioned 3 posts up
  11:51pm
Tony:

CYou remembered the Berrio and read my mind on the Crumb
ur awesome Bethany....
  6:44pm
petey:

Pat Barrett:

Best radio program I've heard, that features new and unusual music, since the 1970's on KPFA, Berkeley where the music hosts were Charles Amirkanian, Henry Kaiser, Barry Scott and others. I look forward to your show every week. I'm a painter in the Portland (OR) metro area and the kinds of music you play are the same or similar to what I've been listening to since I was a student. It's the kind of music that works the best with how I work in my studio. Thank you for your interests and sensibilities.
  11:38am
Jon:

I'm hoping to catch up on all the shows I missed while Bethany is out during 2010. This is the third so far.
