Hiya Scott. Great spacey start to my Thursday.
  12:09pm

"I can't tell when NJ Transit trains are finally going to show up in NWK."
- They're not.
"How do I know I'll ever to get to work on time...?"
- You won't.
  12:12pm
BSI:

whew! ... had to make it to the end of the Incapacitants' piece on Berger's last show in the archives before I could skip over here to real-time. dang. Slightly different vibe in here.
  12:13pm
BSI:

that wasn't a negative "dang", just re-adjusting my skull. Very nice space in here, sir Williams.
  12:17pm
Carmichael:

For a minute, I thought this woman's voice belonged to that crazy dame Dagmar Krause. I panicked ...
  12:20pm
Cecile:

Good afternoon, Scott.
And thanks to Duane for the great show.
  12:21pm
bennett4senate:

  12:29pm

@april stevens:
Bring me a fresh carcass and I'll teach you how to stalk gazelle. But no meat = no teach.
  12:43pm
Cecile:

  1:15pm

  1:36pm

  1:42pm
Santa:

I use to live at that research base. the snow is good there.
  1:44pm
Cheri Pi:

Those Ganglians really have my attention this year, great new stuff.
  1:49pm
Santa:

I'm with you Cheri Pi. Too bad they don't do any fuckin' Xmas music...
  1:50pm
Cecile:

no lie, Cheri.
Where are they from? They sound very New Zealandy.
  1:51pm
D.S. Saluja:

I'm bored out of my mind in Toronto, moved from NJ recently. Thanks for keeping me company with a little slice of home.
  1:52pm
Mark Williams:

i believe the Ganglians are from around the Sacramento area. two of the guys work in the same pizza place together. a few people i know keep comparing them to Real Estate who i've not heard yet. any comments on that?
  1:55pm
Cheri Pi:

Real Estate and Ganglians both share the Woodsist label, maybe that sound is particular to it?
  1:55pm
Santa:

hmm. not sure this new OOIOO is on the same extraordinary level as Taiga...
  1:56pm
Cecile:

DSJ, is it because Toronto is a little sleepier than the NYC region?
I had a lovely time the few days I was there. Seemed like a ton to do.
  2:00pm
brock:

fuck yeah, jason forrest!
  2:03pm
D.S. Saluja:

It was when I came here during the early fall, but now my skin's so beat up from the weather I feel like a fisherman out in the seas. I miss New York. Whereabouts are you from Cecile?
  2:05pm
Cecile:

Originally from Upper Michigan, now in Minneapolis.

DSS, I highly recommend Aveeno Skin relief lotion, Weleda Skin Food for your face, and loads and loads of water.
  2:08pm
Ike:

I use a lot of aloe vera in the winter, which is just as good as lotion for moisturizing.

Jason Forrest, woooooo!
  2:10pm
D.S. Saluja:

Haha, I've never been to your neck of the woods. But you seem to know what you're talking about. As it's very cold there right now too? I think I'm going to go with my fail-safe plan for hunting for used books. I'll start collecting more than I've read, all over again. Any favorite books you're reading right now?
  2:14pm
Cecile:

Yes, it's -5 here.

Hrm, I'm working my way through The Night Gardern, by George Pelecanos. It's a pretty dark police procedural. I like it, but just haven't been reading much lately. Been busy.
  2:15pm
Cecile:

The 99% aloe vera gel is awesome, Ike.
  2:15pm
fishmonkeystew:

Musicophilia by Oliver Sacks. Neato book about the effects of music on the brain.
  2:16pm
D.S. Saluja:

Musicophilia by Oliver Sacks? Will try to pick it up. Someone told me to pick up "Tin Drum" as well, so maybe I'll check out both. Adios! Thanks guys
  2:17pm
BSI:

Big Blood can do no wrong! I have spoken!
  2:21pm
J-Mar:

My book recommendation, D.S.S.: Haruki Murakami's "The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle." So amazingly great.
  2:25pm
mysterio:

you've saved another Thursday, SW.
  2:36pm
Ike:

I've been reading the Merchant Princes series by Charles Stross, which is great parallel-world SF, MUCH better than the dreadful cover art would suggest. But really, anything by Stross is excellent. Also Craig Ferguson's "American on Purpose."
  2:42pm
dc santa:

I've heard of books. Ho do they work?
  2:43pm
santa:

dammit, gave myself away there...
  2:43pm
BSI:

Thanks for playing the Jack Rose -
Saw him just once here in DC (opening for Grails & OM), he was being drowned out by all the chatter at the bar (dag nabbit), but his playing was unbelievable.
  2:46pm
Ike:

DC Punk, they're made of wood sliced rreeeeeal thin, and they're heavy, but they smell good. It's like being on the Internet, but without a screen to wear out your eyes, and often a much better narrative.

Jack Rose, oh, so sad. Love him.
  2:49pm
Chris:

There are some wonderful tributes to Jack over at www.terrascope.co.uk
  2:55pm
dc santa:

Hey thanks sp'Ike, I'll have to try some book some day...
  5:09pm
hate love:

whats is this format of music in here?
