  3:04pm PMD:

Legal saliva? Can't use the illegal type - don't want to go to jail.
  3:04pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

but the near future looks bright...
  3:05pm Arf:

As long as it's a consenting beagle, it's fine.

  3:08pm Ψ-Ns:

  3:39pm stuart:

whatever happened to Buzzy Linhart? my sister told me that he tried to pick up one of her college friends on the railroad, maybe in the early 1980s
  3:43pm Not Buzzy:

RE Buzzy:
(The bio at the latter covers 60s & 70s only)
  3:44pm Duke of Earl Grey:

The FMU front page says that *Bronwyn* is filling in for 7SD today! Yay!

Curmudgeon, Dan B. was baiting Irwin. Irwin earlier said he hated that cover. I'm with ya there.
  3:52pm ginger tim:

Buzzy comix featuring David Thomas as Crocus Behemouth:
  3:53pm Curmudgeon:

Well, that's better.
  3:54pm stuart:

Assuming that Buzzy Linhart is still alive, why wouldn't he update his bio to show what (if anything) happened from the 1980s thru the present (besides trying to pick up my sister's college roommate on the railroad)...
  4:12pm balint:

this is sweet!
i wonder what other programs would you recommend at WFMU?
  4:19pm JKMDNY:

I used to listen to these guys at the Electric Circus in the 60's. Two drummers. They were great!
  4:26pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

damn, this sounds like daily life at my house...
  4:28pm A:

And now the part of the radio program where Irwin tests his listeners. NOT GRADED ON A CURVE.

  4:30pm chris:

I sure am glad the cartoons came on... damn.
  4:31pm coelacanth:

Amazing! i remember this from Dr. Dimento show,when i was a kid...Thanx,Irwin.
  4:31pm annie:

  4:33pm Duke of Earl Grey:

Hey Balint, if you're still there, try pretty much everything on the Monday schedule, and Scott W., Ken, Stan, and Daniel B. just for a start.
  4:44pm balint:

thanks duke!
There's so much beauty over here! Than i'll move on towards Mondays :)
  4:47pm Duke of Earl Grey:

I think you'll find the awesome pop-up archives very useful for that, Balint.

On another note, I really liked that "I Said I Wanna Watch Cartoons" track. Cleared out my sinuses.
  4:57pm closetspace:

  5:01pm big roller:

  5:04pm Laura L:

"Left Behind" from Happy Flowers is awful good too--awful and good, that is.
  5:09pm AnAnonymousParty:

Thanks for the Miles.
  5:13pm Peter K.:

Always a pleasure (and a surprise) to hear Miles Davis on WFMU. I love "In a Silent Way." But for the record (no pun intended), Side 2 of the original LP did not consist of a single song. It began (and ended) with the piece that gave the album its title, which was written by Joe Zawinul; the long jam called "It's About That Time," credited to Davis, was a separate performance (and almost certainly recorded at a separate session).
  5:17pm Irwin:

I defer to Peter, but the CD has only two tracks , each with bi-partite titles. Each side consists of multiple edits by producer Teo Macero. They're almost suite-like.
  5:19pm PMD:

Very nice Miles Davis peace.
  5:22pm blue woogy:

luvn this miles
  5:30pm Peter K.:

Both sides of "In a Silent Way" were the product of multiple edits by Macero (some of them pretty easy to spot), but Side 2 definitely consisted of two separate pieces, albeit melded together. The title "Shhh/Peaceful" definitely implies that Side 1 consisted of two separate pieces as well, but it doesn't sound that way to my admittedly unsophisticated ear.

I loved the David Friedman piece, by the way.
  10:47am Michael C. Anton anton:

Buzzy Linhart is living in Berkeley CA.
He is busy re-issuing some recordings, and is involved in the medical marijuana movement. Buzzy Rocks !
