i went on a sound walk this evening, starting at the water in dumbo. the leader said that when the train passed above, he lost his perception of how deep the waves were, as they became flat...

the walk guide also said that dumbo has a unique relationship to sound because although the massive neighborhood development has changed the visual landscape, the audio remains industrial, post-industrial, if you close your eyes
