The Marble Index is to me one of the most beautiful records ever. Thanks!
  3:38pm
BSI:

I'm gonna have to dig out my copy of PSYCH-OUT to pay Hopper proper homage.
  3:40pm
dc pat:

dunnunt, dunt, dunt......dunnunt, dunt, dunt

what song is that? hint: has to do with Hopper.
  3:44pm
WinstonSmith:

Wow, it's 2010 and we still cannot even freely express the language on the radio in the USA. I'm just so pleased to be living in a nation that has succumbed to the demands of religious fanatics and other assorted fascists. Still another reason why the enlightened world holds us in contempt.
  3:45pm
Bad Ronald:

Jimi, hell yeah!
  3:46pm
dc pat:

FABIO GOT IT!!!
  3:48pm
dc pat:

one of the greatest rock tunes EVER.
  3:51pm
Cecile:

wave your freak flag high, even if it's only for the duration of the song...
  3:53pm
Bad Ronald:

Yeah, Mitch Mitchell kills it!!!
  3:53pm

  3:59pm
dc pat:

We're on the same page (can't believe I said that) when it comes to drummers. I saw that video earlier today--raises the bar for all drummers. I dig Ginger Baker too.
  3:59pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

Bad Ronald, I'd give my left ball to have 1/10th of that guy's rhythm
  4:00pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

and my right one to have 1/100th of his confidence.
  4:00pm
Looms:

Talking of D. Hopper, i'm surprised that The American Friend by Wim Wenders is so rarely quoted. It's an excellent movie.
  4:00pm
Cecile:

The late Dominick Dunne had some great memories and photos of Dennis Hopper and his wife and some other young artistic celebrity couples in the mid 60s. He spoke fondly of him, and I think some of either Hopper's or Dunne's snapshots of that time appeared a while back in Vanity Fair.
  4:03pm
still b/p:

Speakin' of censoring -- some constrained station showed Easy Rider recently, and in the brief portion I saw, they blurred the naughty bits in the cemetery trip scene. Always odd, like in Erykah Badu's recent Dealey Plaza strip 'n stroll video.
  4:04pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

well, tits are the devil's work, aren't they?
  4:06pm
Cecile:

Idle "handles" are the Devil's playthings.
  4:07pm
still b/p:

Mom to nightgown-wearing Carrie: "I can see your dirty pillows."
  4:08pm

This music is swingin'. I bet these guys are hepcats.
  4:08pm

  4:11pm

  4:52pm

The whole set was trippy!
  4:58pm
Cecile:

maybe a chain-mail shirt?
  4:59pm
Brian:

It's the railroad. "Path of steel."
  4:59pm

  5:02pm

Lubricated Goat! I remember seeing an LP of theirs at Bill's records in Dallas (Richardson actually) back in the mid 80s. Used to make us laugh like loons, thanks Fabio for the memory I needed that
