  6:03am
annie:

  6:03am
annie:

had a choice this am of two radio shows, yours won!!
  6:03am
Meghan:

wow, everyone checking in!

Good morning all!
  6:04am
Elwyn:

@Churck: Last week was a shocker. I thought it was going to be a fantastic night out of dinner with a lovely lady but she told me she felt no chemester.
At least the meal was nice.

How's everyone else? My country has a new leader!
  6:04am
Meghan:

woohoo! Glad I won! I shall not disappoint!
  6:05am
Meghan:

A feisty faker too!
  6:05am
Chuck:

Alas, Elwyn, what can you do? Hopefully your new top kick does things right!
  6:06am
zengomi:

Honey, I'm loving this!
  6:06am
Elwyn:

This is so unlike the one Air album I own!

For those who don't know, "feisty faker" = lady with dyed red hair. :-)
  6:07am
Dave B:

I'm curious on the etymology of that phrase... I know a few that fall in that categorey.
  6:07am
annie:

it'll beee a great show, i can tell
  6:08am
Dave B:

Have a honey of a time, annie!
  6:08am
Chuck:

Careful, you may hit a nerve with Meghan!
  6:09am
Meghan:

Are you kidding me? I am totally a feisty faker! ha!
  6:09am
Elwyn:

So effectively, Katie sent me the "Let's BEE friends" card. I much prefer :I choo choo choose you" with the picture of a train.
  6:10am
annie:

sweeet
  6:11am
Chuck:

Dave.... Been having problems getting things up in the cloud space. After 45 minutes of upload time I get errors and the file doesn't get there. A bit frustrating...
  6:12am
Dave B:

Yeah - apple ain't the greatest. Might move things over to dropbox...
  6:13am
zengomi:

Eardrum Buzz?
  6:13am
Dave B:

A World Cup Fan Comparison:

http://www.wobshite.co.uk/b3ta/vuvu-real-ale-a.jpg
  6:14am
Chuck:

Tried it 4 times. Same result.... Ugh!
  6:15am
Elwyn:

Technology is still not our friend... but I do love iOS4.

Arg! I just remembered a bee song that Meghan can reject... Extreme's "Flight of the Wounded Bumblebee".
  6:15am
Meghan:

hehe.... I choo choo choose YOU!
  6:16am
Chuck:

What was the name of the guy that played the Green Hornet? It was Van something.....
  6:17am
Meghan:

Elwyn, what is with your love of Extreme?
  6:17am
Chuck:

Yeah, Baby! Robyn!!! Love this song (and album)!
  6:17am
Dave B:

@Chuck - Seth Rogen
  6:19am
Chuck:

Of course we all know Kato was Bruce Lee. So funny...
  6:20am
Dave B:

Rogen plays him in the new movie (Jan 2011) Van Williams from the 60 serieries
  6:20am
s.i.s:

Walt Kelly with Norman Monath - Willow the Wasp
  6:22am
Chuck:

Ah! Knew it his first name was Van. Blanked on the rest. MORE COFFEE PLEASE!
  6:22am
Elwyn:

@Dave: Speaking of Seth Rogan, I bought "Zac and Miri Make a Porno" the other day - it was from that store where I got subjected to some live Rush in Full-HD. Presumably, in that case, the H stands for "horror". It was Tom Sawyer.

@Meghan: It was weird to say the least. When I was younger, I listened to lots of hard rock. Around the time of Van Halen 3, I got tickets to VH front row centre and also started listening to Extreme just in case Gary Cherone would play any of his own songs. (They wouldn't let him... and gee, Cherone is a strange one.) I also met Nuno when he came to Australia last time.
  6:24am
Dave B:

Guilty pleasures Elwyn...

Guilty pleasures.
  6:25am
Dave B:

@Chuck - I had the Corgi car of the Black Beauty when I was a kid... Wish I still did, that thing'd be worth some money...
  6:27am
Chuck:

Yeah, my Grandmother got me a plastic build yourself model of the BatMobile.... Loved it. Got it by sending in box tops from Mr. Chips cookies....
  6:29am
Dave B:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUuv_fEJMpI

Such pleasantries!
  6:30am
Chuck:

Probably that's what got me started making things. Go figure...
  6:33am
Chuck:

How are they dragging it out for so long? Still surprising that the US keeps in it....
  6:34am
Elwyn:

I had a die-cast Batmobile (60s series) and it had a button that made a metal thing come out the front that was presumably for when the Batmobile drives through a forest and is meant to mow down every single tree.

Can I take this opportunity to slag off the Italian team for diving at every world cup?
  6:34am
zengomi:

Thanks!
  6:34am
Dave B:

I'm still burning off last night's buzz!
  6:35am
Meghan:

but of course! It was stuck in my head when I came up with the theme!!
  6:36am
Chuck:

Superfly - Curtis Mayfield. Or is that too obvious?
  6:40am
Chuck:

Fly On A Wall - Sir Bald Diddley & His Wig-Outs
  6:41am
Dave B:

Tse Tse Fly - Wall of Voodoo
...and because "Tse Tse Fly" is fun to say. and you can check sibilance with is just like saying "wasps" (which always sounds like "waspspsps" to me...)
  6:43am
Chuck:

Yuppers, Meg! Swingin' Neckbreakers!
  6:43am
Dave B:

@Meghan - how'd the father's day gig go? I would have head over, but got fairly wrecked at Bohemia Hall Beer Garden for the Brazil match?
  6:44am
Dave B:

and I can't type this AM....

MORE COFFEE - STAT! (and a fruit cup please)
  6:45am
Meghan:

Oh it went great! It was amazingly packed there too! but not from the games...
  6:46am
Meghan:

doing it again in 2 weeks....
  6:48am
Elwyn:

I forgot that Jonathan Richman covered this song even though I gave as a present a JR compilation with it on it.

Now for the Huey Lewis cover. :-D
  6:48am
Dave B:

Cool. Hope to make it. Sunday's are tough for me... but I'll try.
  6:49am
Chuck:

Wow, Meghan, nice transition!
  6:50am
zengomi:

Two Pollard possibilites:

Bee Thousand on The Grand Hour EP

Beekeeper Seeks Ruth on Sunfish Holy Breakfast EP
  6:52am
Elwyn:

@zengomi: and next week, the entire album "The Fly Got Smashed"
  6:54am
Dave B:

<--- hoping The Bears track makes the cut...
  6:54am
zengomi:

@Elwyn: totally
  6:55am
zengomi:

Nice one for Flight of the Bumblebee!
  7:01am
Dave B:

GOOD GOD! YouTube now has a "vuvuzela button"

http://thedailywh.at/post/730029728/dear-god-no-of-the-day-a-vuvuzela-button-has

We have officially jumped the shark.
  7:04am
Chuck:

It's okay, DB. All fads pass.....
  7:06am
Chuck:

Remember "Pet Rocks"?
  7:06am
kath:

buzz, buzz...
  7:07am
Chuck:

Or "Pyramid Power"? Hey, morning, Kath!
  7:07am
Dave B:

While at the Beer Garden last week the guy sitting at the table behind us kept at it with one of those things. I wanted to turn it into a butt trumpet for him...
  7:08am
Jack:

"Ant Man Bee" by Captain Beefheart from Trout Mask Replica
  7:08am
Meghan:

Morning Kath!
  7:08am
Meghan:

It's coming Jack.... in a later set!
  7:09am
Dave B:

<-- tips hat @ Kath
  7:09am
Elwyn:

Morning Kath.

I remember Pet Rocks. Didn't they go feral after being released back into the wild, subsequently causing significant damage to native flora and fauna.
  7:11am
Meghan:

*giggles at Elwyn*
  7:11am
Dave B:

@MEGHAN - YAY!

(Adrian Belew is one of my guitar heros...)
  7:11am
Chuck:

Had a guy in high school that cashed in on the idea, Elwyn. Except he came up with "Pet Spikes". Railroad spikes that he picked up on the tracks and painted various colors...
  7:12am
Chuck:

They, of course, never go feral.... hehe....
  7:15am
Dave B:

@chuck - the just get forgotten and resort to a life of drugs...
  7:16am
Chuck:

Sure, DB... You can still find them along the tracks looking to get hammered!
  7:17am
Dave B:

Spike — heroin cut with scopolamine or strychnine; to inject a drug; IV/hypodermic needle
  7:18am
Dave B:

ha!

Hammered.
  7:19am
Dave B:

Like peas and carrots!
  7:21am
Chuck:

The Bard would kill me, but think of it that way. Just for fun....
  7:25am
Meghan:

speaking of fun.....www.MoreCowbell.dj
  7:26am
Chuck:

HA! Walken makes this work!
  7:27am
Elwyn:

@Dave: I always wondered what the exact alternative meaning of "spike" was ever since that Low song "(That's How You Sing) Amazing Grace"
  7:29am
Chuck:

It's also clearly in Lou Reed's "Heroine", Elwyn...
  7:30am
Chuck:

"When I put a spike into my vein..."
  7:32am
kath:

When I was a kid I would get this song in my head a lot, but for some reason I had it as a mash up with In Bedrock, twist, twist (Rock Roll from the Flintstones)
  7:33am
Dave B:

completely off topic:

http://s1.b3ta.com/host/creative/66433/1276965697/johnhurt.jpg
  7:33am
Chuck:

Probably just the same beat, Kath....
  7:35am
Chuck:

Completely on topic: Seems you're sort of doing the bug theme previously suggested, Meghan. This week and next....
  7:37am
Dave B:

I'm waiting for a cicada theme....

http://www.gardenersnet.com/atoz/cicada.htm
  7:38am
Dave B:

and related to the John Hurt link above:

http://classicfun.ws/wp-content/uploads/kim-jong-il-kim-jong-ok.jpg
  7:39am
Chuck:

And I've got BIG mother molds to build today.... All pores open for business....
  7:42am
Elwyn:

I knew that it had something to do with heroin but didn't know about the mixing of heroin with other things.

@Dave: For you: http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Chestburster/133775094444?ref=ts

Funny enough, my friend Laura Imbruglia has a song about cicadas too! The opening song of her debut EP "It Makes a Crunchy Noise".

@Chuck: What sort of moulds? I want to buy Jesus moulds so I can make chocolate Jesus next Easter.

@Everyone else: I've got to go home (still at work). I've been starting at this computer all day and my stupid program still isn't working. Hopefully I'll make it back before the end of the show.
  7:42am
Jeff P:

Bring back the vuvuzela!
  7:43am
Meghan:

Chuck, I want BIG Splashes.... Big big splashes.... Can you do it bigger?
  7:44am
annie:

ok... now i'm going to see how the bee music goes with proof-reading..
  7:44am
Meghan:

Awwww, fine Elwyn..... see you next week!

Ha! Let us know how that goes Annie!
  7:45am
Chuck:

I think I can put something together for you, Elwyn. Food grade silicon rubber will do the trick! HA!
Not this time, Meg! Resin shells... It's gonna take a while....
  7:52am
Chuck:

I still want to create Jesus with flashing laser eyes.... I already know how, just haven't gotten to it!
  7:55am
Dave B:

pew pew pew!!!
  7:55am
Jeff P:

YAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!
  7:59am
Dave B:

OK - I've heard someone compare the vuvuzela to bagpipes in terms of annoyance factor.
Any opinions here?

I actually like a good pipe and drum number from time to time..
  8:00am
annie:

poor start so far .... i'm easily distracted this am.. it should improve
  8:01am
Chuck:

In limited quantity the pipes are okay, Dave. Don't want to hear it all day though....
  8:01am
Meghan:

http://www.veoh.com/browse/videos/category/comedy/watch/v15996307NYFGxZeY
  8:04am
Chuck:

Ah, so many versions, Meg. So many....
  8:06am
Chuck:

Interesting.... Haven't done a two or threefer in a long while, Meghan.
  8:07am
Dave B:

@chuck - I have a few good P&D numbers that bode well when walking to work.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fB5aT7tKRkY

@Meghan - I think that skit predates the "Blues Brothers" and was what kinda launched 'em
  8:07am
Meghan:

You're right... it has been a while eh?
  8:09am
Meghan:

I think it might as well.... Love the bee costumes though...
  8:09am
Chuck:

Yup, I've got this Slim number. Good call....
  8:15am
Chuck:

Why did I just remember "Buzzing off your stinger" from those SNL skits!
  8:20am
annie:

ick
  8:20am
BastienDK:

The Bee theme : pretty amazing, as I'm starting beekeeping and went to get my first bee swarn this morning. Thanks Meghan !
  8:21am
Meghan:

ahhh No worries Bastien!
  8:22am
Jeff P:

Did Jeff F request any songs by Wasp?
  8:23am
Meghan:

he didn't! he just wanted that John Belushi King Bee song....
  8:23am
Chuck:

There is an apiary minutes from my front door. Good luck, BastienDK!
  8:23am
annie:

bastien, are you using the top-bar hive or the standard style?
  8:25am
Chuck:

Speaking of eating bugs and such.....
  8:26am
Jeff P:

"son of a bee" was great!
  8:26am
BastienDK:

one named Dadant here in France. I suppose it's the standard style !
  8:27am
Chuck:

"I need a license for my pet fish Eric...."
  8:27am
Jeff P:

YAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!! ROLLERSAKING BEES!
  8:28am
Mike R:

Ivor Cutler. Divine choice!
  8:28am
annie:

must be the box type... the top-bar style allows the bees to create their own combs, which actually enables them to survive better
  8:28am
Dave B:

Cyril Connolly?

No,
semi-carnally!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyril_Connolly
  8:30am
Meghan:

I got your last minute request too late Jeff! sorry! Hope Rollerskating bee's made up for it!
  8:32am
Jeff P:

The band didn't send me the recording until late last night. You should look up the video they did on youtube
  8:34am
BastienDK:

I am currently checking online and it seems to make life much easier... are you familiar with it ?
  8:37am
Jeff P:

it sounded like you said "Captain Bee Fart"
  8:38am
Meghan:

It would have been appropriate then huh?
  8:38am
Chuck:

And what kind of sound is that, Jeff? Ha! You're too funny, man!
  8:38am
annie:

not personally, bastien, but i know a lady who has had three built for her. the book and pattern are free on-line..
  8:40am
annie:

shall i find you a decent link?
  8:41am
Chuck:

Is it "buzzzzffffffuuth"?
  8:42am
Elwyn:

I'm back!!

It's too late for next week but you should do something special to celebrate the New (financial) year's eve.
  8:43am
Chuck:

Yay, Elwyn!
  8:44am
BastienDK:

sure !

Jeff P:

  8:45am
Meghan:

Ugh financial and the US are two things that I find evil.... I am over financial stuff. *grumbles about the corrupt financial companies in the US.....*
  8:49am
Chuck:

Greed is always a form of corruption, Meg.... How much do you really NEED?
  8:50am
Meghan:

I could use a little more actually.....
  8:50am
Chuck:

Me too.
  8:50am
Jeff P:

Get in line.
  8:51am
Meghan:

Jeff.... people keep cutting in line!
  8:52am
Meghan:

*giggles and giggles and giggles at this song*
  8:53am
Chuck:

I could turn this into an anti-corporate tirade, but the show is almost over. I'll refrain....
  8:53am
annie:

ok, bastien http://outdoorplace.org/beekeeping/kenya.htm
  8:53am
Magda:

Makes me think of greasy kids stuff.
  8:54am
Meghan:

It totally does.... I miss Greasy Kids Stuff.....
  8:56am
Chuck:

At least you never had to use the greasy kids stuff! Any guys still got Brillcream out there?
  8:57am
