Parq:

Happy 4th weekend, gang. "Shine" is a terrific song, as long as you don't take the lyrics too seriously.
  11:18am
Peter:

Wow, is this the original that Rockpile covered? Cool!
  11:20am
Michael:

It's a cover of the Nick Lowe song.... GREAT!
  11:26am
Peter:

So Nick Lowe wrote it? Did not know that. Thanks, Michael!
  11:36am
Michael:

Nick wrote it - and cut it twice - the earliest version has a sort of REGGAE vibe. I think Billy Bremner (Rockpile guitarist - who sings Rockpile's version) came up with the arrangement idea - stealing the piano riff from "One Fine Day"

Annette covering "California Sun" -- the wonder of it all.
  12:02pm
drr:

Or the wonder why of it all.
  12:04pm
drr:

Coolest song on this show so far -- and this is coming from a giant Lou Rawls fan-- is the Thundermug one.
  12:15pm
drr:

This song sounds better than I remember. Drums aren't too "eighties." Kind of reminiscent of the Go-Betweens.
  12:35pm
John W:

Well Willie is no Emmtt, but yeesh! "A lady wanting to get out?" "Fond of each other"? It's a step in the right direction but there's a way to go yet.

Dannywithpants:

It's Over -- damn good!!
