Bill Kelly:

Klaatu was a Toronto-based combo whose music was compared to the Beatles in the 1970's. Their record company did nothing to dispel the persistent rumors that they were actually the Beatles, effectively torpedoing their career when the truth became known. The word klaatu is also part of the phrase "Klaatu barada nikto" that is widely acknowledged as having saved mankind from the wrath of the uber-robot Gort in 1951.
