Listener comments!

  12:06pm
Dale from North Dakota:

Good afternoon Tamar, hope that all is well with you today! Looking forward to some great music in the next three hours.
  12:08pm
north guinea hills:

This is the only Patti Smith song I like.
  12:09pm
Parq:

Patti's "Dancing Barefoot" always knocks me flat. The whole "Wave" album is way-underrated.
  12:33pm
Mike East:

you've got me mindlessly singing simon and garfunkel at my desk. Great set Tamar.
  12:34pm
PMD:

Hi there - really enjoying!
  12:35pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

Happy Thursday, Tamar.
  12:37pm
Carmichael:

Hiya Tamar!
  12:38pm
Tamar:

Hi peoples, thanks for listening!
  12:39pm
fat bastard:

good stuff
  12:46pm
PMD:

I haven't heard Kate Bush in so long...
  12:46pm
dale:

hello miss tamar. shout out for early kate bush
  12:46pm
Carmichael:

Rollin' the ball, rollin' the ball ....
  12:47pm
postmanpaul:

Hi Tamar. Ah, Kate Bush. She is a Goddess.
  12:48pm
Mike East:

I was in a Kate Bush cover band for a brief time...never played any shows
  12:49pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

somehow I missed the Kate Bush Express when it rolled through...I think back then I only listened to music produced before 1972.
  12:52pm
zoot:

Brings to mind Kate's first appearance on SNL. Introduced by Eric Idle, if I'm not mistaken. And I'm certain she was singing and miming Rollin' the ball. Pretty amusing, as I recall.
  12:52pm
postmanpaul:

And so too is Joanna.
@ DCEyes - give Aerial a go.
  12:53pm
Daniel:

On these very comments pages, I once compared Joanna Newsom to Kate Bush, which attracted some angry responses. But now, hearing that Newsom song, I think of Laura Nyro.
  12:58pm
dale:

I heard Wuthering Heights on a Toronto radio station (US stations were way behind) and found her in an import bin. I stared at her inthose red legwarmers every time i put the rekkid on the zenith console. lionheart and the dreaming are my faves though.
  1:01pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

@Postmanpaul--thanks, will investigate
@Daniel--I heard the similarites instantly--your comments were justified regardless
  1:03pm
Ike:

I just drifted back. This Diabate is lovely. Reminds me of Salieu Suso, who plays a gorgeous kora at various subway stations sometimes.
  1:16pm
Mike East:

That DEVO just made my day I think.
  1:19pm
fat bastard:

devo made me barf a little
  1:22pm
postmanpaul:

Was that not Devo?
  1:24pm
dale:

my wife and i just discussed a cinnabon commercial using autonahn, and their hats are cinnamon buns.
  1:26pm
Alex:

gotta love that Sucker DJs - I have this on an old radio tape of Mr. Jive (WFMU DJ in late 80's early 90's)
  1:29pm
fat bastard:

yay dan deacon
  1:30pm
D:

Love the DD.
  1:41pm
Detroit Mac:

Just heard ARROW has died. Any chance you can play any of his stuff (and NOT Hot-Hot-Hot)?
  1:45pm
BruceF:

"Please baby, please."

from She's Gotta' Have It.
  1:46pm
slugluv1313:

oh no! no more ARROW???
  1:49pm
Dale from North Dakota:

This is very reminiscent of Annie Haslam. Very soothing.
  1:55pm
postmanpaul:

Nice show Tamar - love the way you're mixing 'em.
  1:59pm
David:

The Loud Family -- Chris Stamey's kids? Nice.

  2:08pm

  2:16pm

  2:27pm
DG:

The Nilsson movie is very good, even if you know a lot about him. Great clips, interviews, insight into his life. Check out my review at the L Magazine site (sorry to plug).
  2:30pm
Bad Ronald:

Cool PMP and DG, thanks. I plan on checking it out...
  2:31pm
Parq:

I wanted to see the Nillson pic, but it was one-night-only and I figured the line would be down the block. DG, I will have a look at your no-doubt-excellent review.

  2:42pm

  2:50pm
postmanpaul:

  2:51pm
postmanpaul:

Safari keeps crashing, pissing me off a tad...
  2:51pm
Bad Ronald:

Ah yes, I was just curious if your paths crossed within the Stiff circle. Thanks.
  2:54pm
postmanpaul:

In a way my path has crossed Bad Ronald, my partner's sister was married to Ian. His two sons are special lads.
  2:55pm
