  3:03pm
postmanpaul:

  3:11pm
Scott Muni:

Tasty!
  3:12pm
Laura L:

It takes even *more* time to be bored than it does for a clever post. We'll never be able to complete your assignment to be bored today!
  3:13pm
Marmalade Kitty:

I love Halloween Psychedelia!
  3:15pm
Matt from Springfield:

Hooray, Sexton Ming again!
@MKitty: How about Arthur Brown? Good for year-round dark psychedelia.
  3:18pm
Marmalade Kitty:

seasonal psycedelia! good stuff
  3:19pm
Hmm Whatcha Think:

A band named...for a jet airplane, maybe? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_L-1011
  3:22pm
Looms:

Ass kicking set, Irwin!
  3:24pm
Matt from Springfield:

Really--Tom Paxton? Interesting take on his material, almost as much as Jimi "upgrading" All Along The Watchtower, I bet.
  3:25pm
gregindc:

The bass player of Clear Light was Doug Lubahn, session bass player for the Doors. Essential info I'm sure
  3:26pm
[irwin's band]:

That's right, we are imaginary...you will never know our name, but we will never leave......
  3:26pm
Irwin:

Drummer in CL was Dallas Taylor, later of CSN(&Y). Lead singer Cliff DeYoung became a TV actor. Keyboardist Ralph Shuckett married Carole King. Etc.
  3:27pm
Irwin:

Or maybe I imagined the personnel.
  3:28pm
Matt from Springfield:

@greg: So that's what gave Doors tracks their bass!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douglass_Lubahn
This article mentions the Clear Light too.
  3:31pm
[irwin's band's personnel]:

So we are, but it's not your imagination that is real, so in the ether we remain....
Unless someone creates a work of fiction featuring us--but that will lead to a movie, and that will lead to Toby Maguire playing us, so let's remain in the ether...
  3:32pm
Matt from Springfield:

Ray's brother? Kinks guitarist? When was this from?
  3:33pm
?:

Jimmy Mitchell is my new favorite artist.

Wow, like a less refined Moody Blues! I like these people!
  3:39pm
Dave B:

Got here just in time for AMANDA!!!!!!!!

CHAAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSS!!!!!!!!
  3:39pm
Matt from Springfield:

YES!! The Lady returns, and it's all Floppy today!
  3:41pm
AnAnonymousParty:

Does that mean Amanda is like a less refined Lady Gaga?
  3:42pm
Ergo:

No. Amanda is a less refined Carole King.
  3:43pm
Matt from Springfield:

@AnAnonParty: OMG, I think that's actually a great metaphor! But "less refined" doesn't do Amanda justice. Perhaps "a splitting nightmare Lady Gaga"?
  3:44pm
The Chair:

The Table ripped off that bass line from me.
  3:44pm
don:

jimmy mitchell.. amanda.. do the standing still.. shit yes..
  3:44pm
AnAnonymousParty:

How about 'slightly' less refined?
  3:45pm
Matt from Springfield:

If Amanda ever puts out a new album with new songs, "Poker Face" or "Paparazzi" would be ideal, btw.

@Chair: Sit on it! Eyy!
  3:45pm
Pedant:

The Table single came out in '77 actually
  3:49pm
Irwin:

I bought it in '79. It couldn't have existed before then. SO NYAH-NYAH!
  3:51pm
Marmalade Kitty:

Irwin, Maybe.. when you wake up you will resume your everyday famous band activities. WFMU is just a dream you are having right now. Do you want to wake up.. ?
  3:52pm
ScottC:

I used to see these guys in SF when they were the Dils. Then everybody moved to Austin. The Gay Community Center on Grove used have Punk shows. It's a parking garage now.
  3:52pm
AnAnonymousParty:

Maybe it's just me but I find Lady Gag to already be a splitting nightmare.
  3:53pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

I've held my tongue so far...but I've got to say that BLACK MOUNTAIN ROCKS!!
  3:55pm
Looms:

Gotta go, thanks for these great tunes!
  3:56pm
another old man:

So not bored, so there Irwin!
  3:57pm
don:

POP QUIZ: can anyone name the skate video that this is in...... or the rider who skates to it......?
  3:58pm
Outcaste:

All right! Finally some recognition!
  3:58pm
Lee Morgan:

Recognized. Every week. On the hour.
  3:59pm
Irwin:

Can someone confirm that Tame Impala will be playing around NYC soon?
  4:00pm
Matt from Springfield:

@DCE: Welcome! I'm glad it was you holding your tongue, and not the Cat who got it.
  4:00pm
Rob W:

Tame Impala @ Bowery Ballroom Nov 17 - as per their myspace...
  4:03pm
don:

guess i'm the only skate nerd.. fair.. it was in the video menikmati.. koston..
  4:04pm
Matt from Springfield:

THE George Martin? Loving the name "Ray Cathode"!

Don't forget, George M. also did all the instrumentals for Beatle movies, Brit-orchestra versions of Beatle songs.
  4:06pm
Lizardner Dave:

One of Facebook's greatest hits!
  4:11pm
postmanpaul:

Pump Up the Jam was rather special. Fantasmagorical show Irwin.
  4:14pm
Matt from Springfield:

Unkorrect Musik!
Ich glaube--weiß man das Wort?
  4:15pm
AnAnonymousParty:

I'm not convinced that it's getting better.
  4:15pm
still b/p:

  4:16pm
don:

  4:16pm
?:

We need--NEED--Mark Turns sometime in the near future.
  4:17pm
Scott S.:

This reminds me of an "I love BUNS" t-shirt I saw today
  4:18pm
r/mz:

music is correct

es wird schon besser
  4:18pm
Matt from Springfield:

Sounds like the backing track is from the "Acela Everywhere" collection!

Unkorrekt, Inkorrekt, Unrichtig, probably Unrichtig--my fav German>English Wörterbuch was taken offline long ago, I'll have to check my books at home for it.
  4:20pm
Matt from Springfield:

Exzentrischmusik!
Thanks Irwin, "eccentric" made it a bit easier!
  4:21pm
Matt from Springfield:

Only if they're dirty hippies...
  4:23pm
r/mz:

aha...
  4:30pm
AnAnonymousParty:

"Dancing dad has Bieber fever" -title of video link just appeared on my Messenger widow. Yikes, I hope there's a cure.
  4:31pm
still b/p:

Ferrara sounds like Garrison Keillor uncharacteristically wound up.
  4:31pm
Matt from Springfield:

Go Paul! He's practically a commercial for his vocal coach, Tiny Tim!
  4:33pm
Marshall Stacks:

What ? said. Mark Turns, Turns, Turns!
  4:36pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

Simon Bath, leave ISB alone.
  4:37pm
postmanpaul:

They were really quite Incredible weren't they?
  4:38pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

they were something! I've been pulling out old cassettes I recorded in the late 80s of their vinyl sides lately.
  4:41pm
postmanpaul:

You knew were you were with ISB. Have you seen their 'Pirate' short film DCE?
  4:42pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

I have not...will have to look into that.
  4:46pm
Matt from Springfield:

DCE, postmanpaul: I like the ISB. Which of their songs do you particularly like?
  4:50pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

I love the whole Liquid Acrobat as Regards the Air album, which is where that outtake was from. I also found a vinyl compilation (Relics) back in the 80s for $2.
  4:53pm
Ike:

I heard this School of Seven Bells song playing at ShopRite recently.
  4:53pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

double-gatefold LP, never opened...languishing in a head shop...$2!!
  4:55pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

these bearded reverb guys these days
  4:58pm
Matt from Springfield:

@DCE: I know and love mainly 5000 Spirits and Hangman's Beautiful Daughter. I see Liquid Acrobat is a bit later, from '71, I'll have to look into that one.
  5:00pm
Matt from Springfield:

Also, you don't like the "baroque harmonic pop jams"? Or just the reverb? I think they're cool in any case.
  5:09pm
Parq:

Thanks for the Uncle Shelby cover. Still miss the ol' degenerate.
  5:09pm
Matt from Springfield:

Shel Silverstein!! He's also very cool--Bobby has a good voice for that song.
  5:20pm
Matt from Springfield:

Just FOUR unique posters, eh? So who's who? I'll tell which ones are mine if you three tell me which ones are yours.
  5:22pm
Ergo:

I'm unique. I'm just like me.
  5:23pm
Matt from Springfield:

Give up? Irwin, Lee Morgan, and yes, Ergo are unique. I'm everyone else!
  5:23pm
marq (aka 10 year old Zoe's dad):

Hi, Irwin-
I got my plane tickets for the record fair. Zoe is not coming but perhaps next year.
  5:24pm
everyone else:

You don't type for us. Just shut up. Btw, this is the same IP as M from S. Interesting...
  5:24pm
PMD:

Hi Irwin! Just getting in.
  5:25pm
Julie:

EmmyLou Harris also did a verson of this
  5:26pm
Matt from Springfield:

@PMD: D'oh! There's the fifth! (see above)
@Irwin: I thought this was Wing at first, but Claudine is always pleasant when you play her.
  5:27pm
G:

Glad I'm not posting here today...

DOHHH!!!!
  5:27pm
Marmalade Kitty:

@Julie, I love that version!
  5:27pm
Parq:

If there's a Wing version of "Here, There", I am in favor of it being played,
  5:31pm
still b/p:

Is it already obvious and noted that connection of Longet and something called Revolver...is either funny or grimace-worthy?
  5:32pm
Julie:

I can picture Irwin dancing to this one
  5:34pm
PMD:

I'm the only listener who's unique? Isn't every human being unique in some way?
  5:43pm
Matt from Springfield:

@PMD: Actually the joke is that you're one of 5, but that image you've created implies a bunch of faceless listeners' voices are bothering you like in some Twilight Zone. I dunno, just me!
  5:44pm
Parq:

I'm not unique. It's well known that you can buy me in crates of 12 at Costco, at a substantial per-me saving over major retail store prices.
  5:47pm
Matt from Springfield:

I rather like "It's not 100% my fault", everyone who's listened multiple times knows it--but I admit it's a bit "clunky" to say. If a catchphrase delivers that same message, but shorter and sharper, I rec it.
  5:48pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Parq: but how soon do you spoil? I gotta make sure you're finished before buying more of you.
@Irwin: this BST outtake is fantastic!
  5:51pm
PMD:

@ Parq, when someone is finished with you, did they per-me-ate you? Har.
  5:54pm
Julie:

It's not butter it's Parq-ay
  5:55pm
Matt from Springfield:

Classic Amanda! INSANE! INSANE!
@Julie: LOL! What about Parq-ay flooring?
  5:55pm
em:

Amanda/Duran Duran -- awesome. No other words to describe.
  5:56pm
Matt from Springfield:

@em: Duran Duran? Which song is in the mix?
