Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

Suicide Authors
Apologies for the light-hearted vibe as we discuss suicide. I am being the smarmiest of all. The Dusty Show does not condone suicide. I suppose humor is often a way of dealing with super sad stuff like this. In light of the death of the young Rutger's students death, this seems in poor taste to me now.

Fabio's Fault
I am pausing in the midst of doing this playlst. It is Friday night and the windows are open. Out on the street I can hear a couple argue. I worry that it might grow heated. They seem to have toned it down. Thank goodness. It's that alcohol. People drink it on the weekends and they get all wrung out and emotional sometimes. Tired at the end of a long day. Next thing you know, they're arguing, down on the street in October ... 2010 ... quiet now ... save the distant lumbering of a garbage truck, singing its blues to the buildings and the bums.
Up the street it rumbles now. Doppler. It is past. I wanted to cover my ears. It's almost frightening sometimes, the garbage trucks are so loud. Heavy metal thunder, Kaye called it. The mad mashing of the machines, hard and bending, screaching and moaning. In love with the city. I think they are. But they are sad. They are garbage trucks. And cities love people.

  Farewell To Fab and Julie

Another show, and a strange one, filled with funny moments and interesting callers. Fabio and Julie were, as always, bright and helpful. As for me, I had an edge in this episode. One might even say a chip nearing my shoulder, if not perched directly upon it. I didn't realize it at the time. It really is a frenetic rush doing the show "live." You hear us yammering away and you imagine us to be having the time of our lives, but what you don't see are the wild hand signals, the body english, the eye-contact that only The Triumvirate shares. I can't speak for Fabio or Julie, but the show winds me up like a fake mouse. In the end I'm spent. We're all spent. We head for the showers and stand there under the warm water as it cascades in calming torrents over our stiff muscles and nerve-jangled skins. Me and Fabio in the Mens Shower Area, and Julie in the Women's. After, we meet in the lounge to compare notes, share candies and small cakes, and talk a bit about what we might do better next time. You know, glistener, it's only later, when I listen back in the comfort home's charming spoils, that I realize how things "actually" sounded. I was a little harsh in this episode. I feel a sense of embarrassment and regret. I was a little un-Pidgelike. I'll reflect further and try to learn so that I might be more sensitive in the future. More mature. For you. And for me. And as for you, glistener ... please keep returning. Write if you find a sliver of time.

Nothing cheers me more than a easygoing email from Edison, or a nice note from New Milford. I'll be logging on continuously over the next eight-months. I'll always be on that thing just staring straight ahead.

That's it, I guess. I can't think of anything else. Go Jets! Gobama! Gomer! Gomez! Gonad! Gorilla! Goat! Gone! Take care and ...

always remember.
