  3:21pm bennett4senate:

@DCE I hope you're live translating
  3:25pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

I'm not sure what that would be. But I'm sure we're not doing it.
  3:26pm steev:

Holy smoke! I haven't heard this since I was 13 or something. Really great, sounds so cool--but I still have no idea what it's about
  3:26pm alex g:

  3:27pm jeremy:

DCE, you going through rage in the cage right now?
  3:31pm Mary Wing:

  3:51pm Mike:

Your show rules
  3:54pm Mike East:

Amazing how all the fates line up. On this, record fair week, I inherited 2 cases of vinyl LP's from a friend who moved West. Can't make it to the record fair, but I'm having my own at home. Enjoying the show so far, Scott.
  3:55pm Wimpy:

I'd love a Wendy's Single.
  3:58pm Cheri Pi:

Yess, is this the first backwards play of the day?
  3:58pm BSI:

Holy jeezus, that Exile tune puts me back in the disco roller rink, six million years ago.....
  3:59pm Parq:

Joining the fun just shy of 4 PM after wondering what Scott would be doing for his SGS show. I might have known.
  4:00pm Macca:

Say, Say, Say!
  4:06pm BSI:

no potty-breaks for YOU!
  4:12pm Scott:

Thanks for checking in everyone! I do believe Irene was getting plenty of backwards on this afternoon.
  4:13pm marq:

Brawny man here will be at the fair and lifting things. not like lift steal. but lift boxes.
  4:21pm ?:

  4:21pm lupica:

Missed the Sexual Milkshake, but I hope you wore the mask that comes packaged with the record while you played it.
  4:24pm Scott:

you mean boat-hat, right Mike? Don't worry, I'm wearing it
  4:26pm paul b:

A polite rant-ette
After Irene played a Kendra Smith song I had a notion to ask someone to play that Clay Allison song "Fell from the Sun." Clay Allison being an idea of a band Dave Robacks later brought to final fruition with Hope Sandoval. I figured WFMU would have that as a single. I used the Firefox add-on that searches through the WFMU db to see if a song has been played and saw that it has already been played earlier this VERY day by someone named Frank O'Toole and I missed it. I will now have to go to the archive at some point to listen to this.
  4:26pm lupica:

Good, good. Glad we are all on the same page here.
4:28pm Tom ( The Bactrian Support Network ):

this is a first for me a cover of Genesis from the Lamb !
  4:29pm Mary Wing:

Paul B, no searching needed, it's right here:

Ain't technology grand?
  4:30pm Scott:

Tom, yeah, nuts, huh?
  4:31pm Sven Inchon:

What happens to all the "holes" from those singles?
  4:32pm Dominick:

Necco Wafers
  4:34pm marq:

nonbrawny people can volunteer to lift the holes.
  4:35pm Montreal:

occasional detroit: amongst the cream of the MI weirdos.
  4:37pm Answerbag Sez::

45's had a bigger hole so you could hold them with your thumb or finger without touching the grooves. 10 and 12 inch records were too big for that .
  4:37pm Cecile:

THE Idris Muhammed?!??! Wow.
  4:38pm BSI:

I just did something pretty dreadful in my booger boots.
  4:38pm paul b:

Thank you Mary Wing! (I just got back from listening to it)
  4:38pm 1mckrs:

Boogie Boots, indeed.
  4:39pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

I feel like this is the theme show to a sitcom that is being filmed right now
  4:39pm Puncola:

My Boogie Boots Randolph and left me.
  4:42pm TNUC:

  4:54pm pet peevington:

das racist is pronounced like a young black teenager saying yo, das racist!
  4:56pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

I kind of figured that but I've never heard anybody pronounce it before.
  4:58pm Scott:

Yeah, I'm with DCE. Also, don't have the balls of the late great Barbara Billingsley when there's live mics
  4:59pm BSI:

...you will never meet another grizzly bear...
  5:30pm Cecile:

this is really a horrifying song.
  5:32pm Scott:

I dunno, seems pretty typical. Or do you mean "bad"? Then I just plain disagree; great song great version!
  5:34pm Cecile:

No, the Hermit song. It was a good song, but the subject matter was very upsetting to me.
  5:35pm Scott:

Ohhhhh.... yeah, I can see that.
  5:38pm Cecile:

Very chilling.
  5:39pm dale:

a fine program mr. dj. and as it's time for my cocktail i'm getting tears in my beers with this old c&w
  5:40pm Salt The Earth:

It's sort of a catch-22, really. If your first instinct is to pronounce the 'das' auf Deutsch, you're a racist. If your first instinct is to pronounce it "correctly" by imitating "yessuh massa" pronunciation, you're also a racist. The lesson of this story is something which Adult Swim intuited a while ago: There Are No People, Only Stereotypical Racists/Racist Stereotypes.
  5:41pm Scott:

werd up salt
  5:42pm Scott:

here's to you Dale, next up
  5:43pm Salt The Earth:

So... the trick is to recognize the 'trick question' and just call 'em The Racist? :D
  5:45pm dale:

ooh schotth, thish ish whats i'm - i'm- i'm talllking abouth
  5:46pm Salt The Earth:

Is this like the 0))))))) in Sunn0)))))? :D
  5:47pm SF Spike:

A roommate I had a few years back owned the 10 Little Bottles album on 8-track!
  5:48pm dale:

and i special shout out for lulu, who i would marry if she knew me and liked me and didn't care that i was broke and my present wife didn't care.
  5:49pm dale:

i recently picked up a sealed copy of bo donaldson and the haywoods. i was ecstatic for some reason.
5:52pm One parrot to the other two:

Knock of the beads, fellas, our prayers have been answered.
  5:57pm Sandy in Houston:

nice show today mr williams
  5:57pm dale:

scott's chart sweeps are always delightful.
  5:58pm rosh:
