9:10am : re: Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep. Wow! I was just this very second reading about this song on Nat Roe's blog post; I'd never heard of it.9:20am : BB in da hizouse!9:23am : Mornin' folks!9:31am : Re.: "Mira Mira" I've known this song forever, as it appeared on an aircheck tape of Mad Daddy Meyers from the early '60s, but never knew who it was. Thanks, Bob!9:33am : When's the 'great first albums' show scheduled?9:52am : Looking at You=19689:54am : Saw the MC5 in '69; "Looking at You" was a highlight I'll never forget;simply amazing!9:56am : That they were Jack..10:00am : They really were, SmokinJ! And also "This Is A Man's World". And that was all after Iggy & The Stooges. My first concert - I was 16.10:03am : I saw them and met them in 69 at a rock festival I was working at. I was 17. Nothing like Purple Owsley to enhance a memory :)10:03am : Bob Brainen has some cool 45s! I always thought the MC5's version of "Looking at You" cut in the '60s sounded more like a '70s track, while their 1970 version sounded much more '60s-ish... if any of that makes any sense.10:08am : Mike: that 1970 studio version of "Looking at You" is goosebumpy stuff, although overall the album (unfortunately) sound funny? flat? A lot of great songs though...10:13am : I always thought "Come On-a My House," not "This Ole House," was the song Rosemary Clooney didn't want to record. That's the way the story is usually told, anyway. Or do I have it wrong? (P.S.: Great show, as always.)10:35am : Reading the playlist while listening to Music for Reading.11:32pm : Hey Bob, did you know there's a video of Norma Tanega doing "Walkin' My Cat Named Dog"?
