Listener comments!

  11:07am
Seminal:

Hawking.. cool
  11:07am
Peter:

First, happy New Year!

Second, it occurred to me, that this is what people think Stephen Hawking sounds like. I wonder, if in his dreams, he hears himself speak that way.
  11:09am
paul:

Todd or MS today?
  11:13am
David:

Welcome back, Michael Shelley!
  11:21am
seang:

euro-trash girl!
  11:26am
David:

I may have jumped the gun.
  11:27am
Parq:

Happy New Year, Michael. The Veskelka people tell me it's National Bloody Mary Day. Me, I'm gonna make do with a nice cup of coffee.
  11:27am
paul:

I'm thinking we're DJ-less today.
  11:27am
seang:

the volume is turned way up!
  11:28am
Michael:

Here too - very loud
  11:30am
Michael:

I used to enjoy the cabbage soup at Veskelka
  11:31am
David:

Ok dj, show your face (voice) now!
  11:32am
Jay:

They are right about Bloody Mary Day.
  11:36am
Bad Ronald:

Sweet EC track Michael, thanks. Happy New year everyone! Parq: get the cold borscht or some pierogis!
  11:37am
paul:

wfmu on autopilot?
  11:40am
David:

This will most definitely be the fewest songs ever played on a Michael Shelley show.
  11:42am
paul:

I would think there would be more shows, since there is no talking. Or are you referring to the length of the songs?
  11:43am
evan:

Happy New Year, Michael! Tokyo Storm Warning certainly a #1 hit!
  11:43am
paul:

meant "songs", not shows
  11:44am
Peter:

A lot of years ago, I was a temp word-processor, and worked with P.E.'s "media assassin", Harry Allen.
  11:44am
David:

I bet Brainen stole all the mics.
  11:45am
paul:

Captain & Tennille and Public Enemy. Interesting mix today. And not one country nugget.
  11:45am
Jim:

Don't believe the Type
  11:46am
paul:

Brainen stole the Mikes, too.
  11:48am
David:

That was a good one!
  11:48am
Peter:

The Captain & Tennille later joined Public Enemy.
  11:48am
paul:

Thank you, sir.
  11:50am
paul:

Back in the day, the Captain and Tennille were public enemy #1.
Remember Muskrat Love?
  11:51am
Peter:

Michael Jackson and Elvis are both textbook cases of why you shouldn't drop out of school after your first record goes to #1.
  11:52am
Parq:

Ah yes, a reminder that we have just begun the second full calendar year of a world without Michael Jackson.
  11:52am
paul:

Bigfoot vs the Commissioner. MS must be in the house.
  11:52am
Peter:

What would prime-time tv have been without Captain & Tennille, Shields & Yarnell, Pink Lady & Jeff? All of them had their own shows.
  11:53am
paul:

You left off the Starland Vocal Band.
  11:55am
Parq:

It all comes back to Sonny and Cher.
  11:55am
paul:

True, Parq.
  11:56am
Bad Ronald:

Tony Orlando and Dawn?
  11:56am
Peter:

Sonny and Cher had real talent, as musicians, and weren't bad as a comedy team.

I think Starland was on John Denver's label, or something like that. FWIW, a few years ago, at the Woody Guthrie tribute at Banjo Jim's, the son of someone from Starland (I can't remember his name), sang a song, and he was really, really good.
  11:56am
Dino:

Can I buy this? Wow!
  11:56am
paul:

Peter, Paul & Parq. Coming to TBS in 2011.
  11:57am
Peter:

Bigfoot versus the Commissioner is like something from "The Uncle Floyd Show."
  11:59am
paul:

Used to love S&C and Cher's skimpy outfits.
  12:01pm
Peter:

Yes, those were the days, when Chastity Bono was a girl, and Michael Jackson, still recognizably human.
  12:01pm
paul:

lol
  12:03pm
paul:

Longest song intro in recording history.
  12:05pm
paul:

It's a tough call. But I think I'm switching to college football.
Happy New Year, all.
  12:09pm
Richard from Venezuela:

Happy new year my friends.
  12:09pm
Parq:

Wait, Chastity Bono had a sex change? Whoa, gotta look this up.
  12:10pm
Paul the Feeder:

Great intro, though. Makes me want to break out her Out of Different Bags album.
  12:13pm
Bad Ronald:

Per Wikipedia: "A documentary about this sex change was made by Bono. Negotiations as to who will get the movie are still ongoing"
  12:17pm
Jeezy:

Wow... Best Michael Shelley show ever?!
  12:31pm
smarthillbilly:

where be the country classics?
  12:33pm
Pete:

awesome... ACE!!!
  12:34pm
Nancy:

nice....
  12:35pm
frenchee:

Hi Michael! Hi Michael! MICHAEL?
  12:35pm
Peter:

I'm happy for her. I believe she's happily married now. As for Michael Jackson, he clearly was never happy with who he became.
  12:37pm
smarthillbilly:

I'm also wait'n fur GLEE to do a SWEET or PAPERLACE epesode
  12:38pm
Michael:

I have never seen Glee - would I like it?
  12:39pm
Burgess:

There's a thematic undercurrent here. And beyond the two songs referencing Barcelona. And beyond the NYC references & musical similarity of NY Groove & Fox on the Run. Btw the segue from Eurotrash to Rolling Stone was brilliant, not only musically, but contentwise, viz Maria L.'s critique of gutterpunks on Pseu's show.
Meanwhile back to the theme, but..?
  12:42pm
smarthillbilly:

not if yur over 17 and male
  12:44pm
Peter:

if > 17 AND (male) , AND (heterosexual) = NO.
  12:49pm
smarthillbilly:

THANK YOU
  12:52pm
paul:

Was 1971 really 40 years ago?
  12:54pm
frenchee:

"may your next diy project NOT look like you made it yourself"--classic
  12:57pm
David:

Thanks for playing great music in 2010. Looking forward to hearing more #1 hits in 2011.
  1:03pm
david in denver:

  4:39am
