Just heard Trish from Broadcast passed away. So sad.: http://warp.net/records/broadcast/a-statement
  9:26am
pierre:

Hi good morning everybody ! lookingforward to see where this show's going. By the way thaks you for making me discover Douglas Quin
  9:26am
Kate:

The Voigt is just perfect.
  9:38am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

oh, man that breaks my heart...I loved Trish...
  9:43am
Vicki:

really really sad
  9:50am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

her voice always choked me up a bit...now I'm sitting at my desk close to tears...
  9:58am
Cheri Pi:

Where can I find a copy of Broadcast & The Focus Group Investigate Witch Cults Of The Radio Age ? My record shop couldn't locate it.
  9:59am
schizflow:

you mean a physical copy?
  10:00am
Cheri Pi:

Yes..
  10:05am
schizflow:

do you have $107.75? http://www.gemm.com/item/BROADCAST--AND--THE--FOCUS--GROUP--BROADCAST--AND--THE--FOCUS--GROUP-q--q--q--q-/BROADCAST--AND--THE--FOCUS--GROUP--BROADCAST--AND--THE--FOCUS--GROUP/GML320968717/
  10:06am
schizflow:

my bad that's not it
  10:09am
Cheri Pi:

Thanks for trying!
  10:11am
Julien DUPONT:

I'm feeling sick about this news
  10:14am
schizflow:

cheri, this might help http://www.popsike.com/php/quicksearch.php?searchtext=broadcast&x=0&y=0
  10:16am
Cecile:

oh, MAN. This is sad. it's been hard.
Cheri, with a lot of rarities I was looking for, it also helps to just send your record geek friends a list. That's how I got my copy of Naked Raygun's Basement Screams for $4, yeah yup!
  10:17am
mike:

This is terrible news - thanks for the tribute Scott. Condolences to Trish’s family and friends. I saw Broadcast play live in Cardiff in 2009 and they were the best thing I had seen in years. Trish was on great form that night. This will remain my abiding memory of her. Music has lost an individual and rare talent.
  10:19am
Cecile:

And PEOPLE! Do not screw around with pneumonia. I lost two family members to it, and one is dealing with the aftermath right now.

One of my husband's co-workers has been in intensive care for two months because of it.
  10:20am
Cheri Pi:

That's it Schizflow-thanks, Amen Cecile, Amen.
  10:29am
Mike East:

@Cecile - me too. It'll be ten years on Jan. 27. Before that, I always that parents just used the threat of pneumonia to get their kids to wear a hat and scarf in the winter, but its no joke.
  10:40am
Cecile:

DUDE. Who let Jethro Tull in here?
  10:43am
Cheri Pi:

This is no time for flute.
  10:46am
Cecile:

not if Yusuf Lateef or Rahsaan aren't playing it.
  10:48am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

aw, don't harsh on the flute. I like the flute.
  10:52am
Cecile:

I like the flute. In small doses.
  10:53am
coelacanth:

(well it WAS a jethro tull riff...)
  10:55am
mike tp:

was listening in the car home now. eager to know of trish from broadcast. will play the archive later tonite as i usually do great show with really cool listeners
  10:57am
mike tp:

did you ever see the scene from a will ferrell movie where he was playing flute was funny as hell
  10:58am
Scott:

More flutes.
  10:59am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

yeah, that was Anchorman, where he got up onstage (reluctantly) and then turned into a showman's showman
  11:00am
Cecile:

I love that movie and that scene. He steps up and starts barking arrangements at the band...
  11:00am
Archibald Wanker:

This is the first time in 5 years I've listened to the show live. Friday afternoon's are usually not as easy as this.
  11:01am
Cecile:

And he ends with a snippet of Aqualung!

the circle is complete...
  11:13am
Gregor T. Shepard:

What's the name of the song that plays when you talk, good sir?
  11:15am
Scott:

"Beginner's Wattz" by Bhutan Tiger Rescue from Pop Ambient 2011
  11:20am
coelacanth:

ah- Aqualung. one of the greatest albums of all time...but the flute we heard before was borrowed from "songs from the wood",i think (also great, albeit more cheezy)
  11:20am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

well this will kick out the sleepies
  11:21am
Gregor T. Shepard:

Ah, I haven't picked one of those up in a couple years. I might have to check this one out. Thank you
  11:28am
coelacanth:

Thank you i think that drove my sister's house cleaner out of the kitchen ...no no no! play more! play more!
  11:41am
Darlene Kostka:

Who is the artist or the song title from 3or4 songs ago where U spoke of Dupa Duo? I did not quite catch the title or correct Location to download the song. Thank you in advance for yr reply. Helping me to muddle through my House chores!
  11:41am
Scott:

  11:42am
Darlene Kostka:

Great. Thanks! Wild stuff on now!
  11:42am
Scott:

  11:43am
Darlene Kostka:

Wonderful! Thanks again!
  11:46am
Cecile:

Well, gotta dig into some piles. I must leave you and retreat into my favorite "get 'er done" station - the AOL nature sounds channel. Happy Friday.
  11:46am
