Listener comments!

  11:04am
paul:

Was James Taylor once in the Flying Machine that did "Smile a little Smile..." or were there two bands with that name? I've wondered this for years.
  11:05am
google:

uhhhhh, paul........
  11:06am
(Mr) Bill:

I gotta believe that was a different Flying Machine. JT couldn't have done anything that execrable in '69. I think his group was named James Taylor & the Flying Machine.
  11:06am
paul:

Too much work.
  11:08am
paul:

So, that was the non-JT Flying Machine we just heard?
  11:09am
(Mr) Bill:

I can't swear to it, but I believe so.
  11:11am
(Mr) Bill:

I think it's the B side of "Smile a Little Smile for Me (Rosemarie)."
  11:15am
paul:

Hmmm. Never had that 45.
  11:17am
paul:

This is the only show where you can hear Will Rigby and Amy Rigby.
Pretty cool.
  11:21am
(Mr) Bill:

My first time listening, and already I'm a fan. Enough with the Eleanor Rigby and more Will and Amy!
  11:29am
Mike:

The Television song is "O Mi Amore". They never cut a vocal for this version, but it was one of their best early songs..
It's on several live bootlegs from the time.
  11:31am
paul:

I searched for "make way for a better man" on Amazon and a bunch of books on male "enhancement" appeared. No joke.
  11:34am
M:

On the "Marquee Moon" cd it is titled "Untitled Instrumental" - that is the name of the cut I played
  11:40am
paul:

=-k8muj7xzxwscednhy? I gotta hear that one!
  11:42am
M:

Was cleaning the keyboard with a Clorox Wipe!
  11:43am
paul:

Kind of disappointed. But I figured it was something like that.
  11:44am
M:

Things can get a bit germ-y around here!
  11:46am
paul:

And you have to follow Bob B. :)
  11:48am
Loren DaSilva:

What are the chances...I'm driving to work this morning thinking, hmm, I'd like to hear Todd Rundgen's "We Gotta Get You a Woman". You've done it again - great show!
  11:52am
BigJay:

Los Angeles thanks you!!!!!!!!!!!
  11:55am
pp:

All these juicy in-between-song tidbits and no backstory! Oh well.
  11:58am
Chad:

pp - backstory of what?
  12:00pm
pp:

What she was doing at Rundgren's house.
  12:00pm
dale:

yay roy clark! now i need to hear glen campbells 'everyday housewife' roy was on the odd couple and did some fine classical guitar work as well....
  12:02pm
scott williams:

Michael - you made my day! My Dad (Charlie Williams)wrote that song - 'Do You Believe this Town?'! Not one I hear on the radio often - nor his other songs....
  12:03pm
Michael:

DOE!

Wow - did he write any other #1 hits!?
  12:08pm
drr:

"And what this song needs is....more tambourine!"
  12:09pm
drr:

This is like the only song where the vowel they hold on is "eeee".
  12:15pm
scott williams:

I'm not THAT Scott Williams! (though I've played on FMU a couple of times) - my Dad did co write "I Got Stripes" w/ Johnny Cash - also 'I Never Picked Cotton' - both Roy AND Johnny did that one...
  12:17pm
paul:

My favorite scene from Walk the Line was were Johnny was loaded on pills and started singing "Stripes" about 3 times the normal speed.
Hope you got a nice little check for that.
  12:19pm
scott williams:

well - my Dad's last wife does...
  12:21pm
paul:

That's cool. Or maybe not (for you). Your dad wrote some great ones.
  12:31pm
paul:

"He smokes Gold Label"
  12:32pm
Sean:

John Barrylicious
  12:33pm
Bob:

I'm sure the FMU library has the Raybeats' "Guitar Beat" album somewhere. I'd love to hear one or two of its number one hits one of these Saturday mornings.
  12:42pm
paul:

And the Dutch!
  12:44pm
paul:

This is very Nesbitt-esque.
  12:46pm
drr:

Now that was amazing.
  12:56pm
paul:

Poke roe?
