Listener comments!

BSI:

.... it is time.
  3:06pm
Scott:

Glad you think so!
  3:11pm
marq:

I trimmed my beard a couple of days ago. my beard gets really wirey and crazy. need to groom it once in awhile. how is Scott's beard doing?
  3:20pm
BSI:

Working on a potentially fatal magazine deadline right now... Definitely in the grips of a "calgon, take me away" psychic need. Good stuff here on radio thing. It's like being nestled in the womb of some terrible lizard. ..... and yes, it is time..... to tame thee beard, which is Out Ov Control.
  3:24pm
Scott:

I don't wanna be a beard
  3:32pm
Joe D:

the Williamsbeard, though mighty, is merely a microcosm of the man behind it
  3:32pm
Griff Muttlegg:

I trimmed my beard the other day. Its never the same after, but it needs to be done yo.
  3:32pm
marq:

three guys I know opened up a tap room a couple of years ago. two of them decided to have a beard growing contest or something. they got really long. then I saw one of them on saturday at a roller derby. shaved. there was another guy there we both knew. he was coaching one of the teams. his beard is huge and red. someone said his type of beard was called the pizza paddle. because it fans out like the wooden pizza paddles to get pizzas out of ovens. didn't realize there are types of beards.
  3:33pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

I don't recall Bryan Ferry ever having a beard.
  3:34pm
Joe D:

little known fact: Bryan Ferry actually invented No-Shave November

Wendy del Formaggio:

eew, I like Bryan Ferry better clean-shaven.
  3:43pm
?:

This is SAVAGELY funky.
  3:43pm
still b/p:

Phil Manzanera was on well-suited whisker duty for the band back in the day. Beatles all did beards, but not sure there was a four-for-four/simultaneous timing. Unlikeliest visual ref of the day:

  3:43pm
BSI:

Thanks unto Calgon.
  3:45pm
marq:

makes me think of beard rock
  3:46pm
BSI:

These beards remain steadfastly untrimmed.
  3:46pm
postmanpaul:

Enjoying the show Scott. Have got a beard in my underpants, very retro', I believe.
  3:49pm
still b/p:

ZZ Top in your bottoms?
  3:52pm
Looms:

For the record, what Jean-Hervé Peron's words on this track is really something dirty.
  3:53pm
postmanpaul:

...untrimmed still b/p, hot-curl manicured and platted with silk ribbons.
  3:54pm
Looms:

Well, nevermind the broken English, you get the picture.
  3:54pm
Scott:

Thanks Looms - I'm guessing the vague gauzy CD cover is as well.
  3:54pm
Jeffersonic DSK:

Aw-right! This Joe Maphis tune is such a great one! Been practicing it for years....can't make it sound this good yet!
  3:55pm
BSI:

jeezus! I've only heard the very earliest Add N to (X), so this sounds positively "musical" ....
  3:55pm
Scott:

Jeffersonic DSK, I'm going home to smash another guitar, just like I do every time I listen to Maphis.
  3:57pm
postmanpaul:

The Add N to (X) ?! Caught miss Gold frapp last September, was heavenly.
  3:57pm
Looms:

Yes Scott. Faust is still kicking asses after all these hard working decades.
  3:58pm
still b/p:

Good luck in the competition at the county fair, pmp.
  3:59pm
BSI:

I was a huge fan of Goldfrapp's first, thought Black Cherry had its moments, but she lost it for me after that. But Felt Mountain is a thing of beauty.
  4:00pm
Jeffersonic DSK:

Have you heard the electric guitar version of Maphis' "Fire On The Strings?". It's insanely, breathtakingly good, I think.
  4:00pm
Scott:

"YOU'RE WORTHLESS WILLIAMS!!" - Joe Maphis
  4:02pm
Jeffersonic DSK:

Wow. Joe sounds kinda' like R. Lee Ermey.
  4:03pm
postmanpaul:

Black Mountain, for sure. Danced all the way home from their gig, BSI.
No one their under 40!
  4:03pm
marq:

what kind of beard would R. Lee Ermey have? a big taliban beard?
  4:04pm
Mechanical Man:

I cry a mechanical tear because I can not grow a mechanical beard.
  4:05pm
Plexipixel:

Mechanical hugz
  4:06pm

  4:07pm
marq:

when i worked in a restaurants years ago I used to grab one of those steel wool scrubbies and say it was robot pubes. guess it could be a beard as well.
  4:07pm
Billy Jam:

Just tuning in now Scott.. Greetings from San Francisco - the land of (former WFMU guests) the Conspiracy of Beards - the all bearded acapella choir who do Leonard Cohen songs. In fact one member, also a KUSFer, stopped by the WFMU remote with me and Gaylord the other day
