http://x52.xanga.com/8bcf26f308530253585451/z201517451.jpg
  6:19am
Chuck:

And where's Elwyn? This was his theme wasn't it?
  6:20am
Meghan:

I got it, but I was already at the concert already!
  6:21am
Chuck:

See I am a Geek, Dave!
How was the show, Meg?
  6:22am
Nick the Bard:

If I was REALLY awake this morning, I would've brought a gallon of Battery Acid, but I didn't have a gallon jug available :/
  6:23am
Meghan:

It is Elwyn's theme.... where is he?! The concerts were great! Two in a row!
  6:23am
Nick the Bard:

Then again, Rusty Armor would've been better, but, gah, that stuff's kind of expensive to make.
  6:24am
Dave B:

I'm off to the Pogues tonight!

And Elwyn better be out getting fruitcups, dammit!
  6:26am
Meghan:

The Pogues are amazing. You'll have a blast! If you bring a crutch, you can get special seating!
  6:27am
Trixie:

A fine show to wake up to.
  6:28am
Chuck:

Never mind the special seating. Do they have BEER!
  6:29am
Meghan:

Chuck.... that is just silly talk. They have a guy walking around selling Guinness
  6:29am
Dave B:

I wonder if a shillelagh would do?

and considering the week you had, I gotta give ya props for pulling this theme off.

You have my blessing to give Elwyn a good ribbing.
  6:29am
Rob from Maryland:

I saw the Pogues in the mid 80s. It was at a new wave club and it wasn't sold out. I stood near the back with the two brave middle-aged folkies who attended. Sort of keeping them company.
  6:31am
Dave B:

Hey Nick the Bard!
  6:34am
Trixie:

A fine choice of co-host.
  6:34am
Chuck:

Jeez, I remember playing D&D back in 1976...
  6:35am
Dave B:

Lemme check, today was payday.....

nope. sorry
  6:38am
Chuck:

This song is too funny! Whistling in a song is geeky....
  6:40am
Meghan:

Dave I had less than a week! I had literally 2.5 days!
  6:40am
Dave B:

I'm bummed that "Shoot the Freak" got shutdown.
  6:42am
Meghan:

It did? Man. I hate that Coney Island is getting a face lift.
  6:44am
pierre:

Bonjour Meghan !
Great idea for a theme.
Did Bosco wear glasses today to fit the theme?
  6:45am
Anthony:

Man, I make a call for fifteen minutes and miss Weezer, Weird Al and Danger Doom.
  6:46am
Meghan:

He left his glasses strap at home..... he forgot!

Ha! Sorry Anthony! this is why you can't make phone calls during show!
  6:48am
Dave B:

@Anthony - there's always the archives....

and for your listeners in Japan, here's the near equivalent:

http://preview.tinyurl.com/Otaku-Image
  6:51am
Dave B:

HAHAHAHAHA!

Thanks for this one Megan (Crumbsuckers)
  6:52am
Meghan:

It worked well with the Descendents.....
  6:53am
Dave B:

I need to remaster that cassette before it disintegrates... was recorded in 1983...
  6:58am
Chuck:

Oh, Pinchy! Num-num!
  6:59am
Dave B:

YAY!
  7:00am
Dan B From Upstate:

Starting to listen just as Doctorin' The Tardis starts? Today will be a good day.
  7:00am
Chuck:

Rush is always listenable! They're the band for music geeks....
  7:01am
Trixie:

Just hook it to my veins!!!
  7:01am
hank:

wow..
  7:03am
Chuck:

And the new season of "Doctor Who" starts the middle of next month...
  7:03am
Nick the Bard:

Dr. Who, one of the things I still havn't started on and have no idea when it'll happen
  7:04am
Dave B:

I wasn't upset at losing the bidding war. In fact it was more of a shill to get people to pledge...

Still...

\m/_RU(BBI)SH!_\m/
  7:05am
Dave B:

and where the HELLWYN is Elwyn?!?!?!?!
  7:06am

Good question!
  7:08am
Anthony:

Oh man Doctorin' The Tardis ruled.
  7:10am
Dave B:

That image above is for the RotN Talent Show...
  7:13am
Chuck:

Stan Lee!
  7:14am
Dan B From Upstate:

I'm sure this Stan Lee narrated bit is a million times better than the Spider Man broadway show.
  7:15am
eric:

Morning! Getting to the nerd party late today!
  7:15am
Anthony:

Like you weren't killing it already with this show, you throw in some Stan Lee/Peter Parker narration to, what, prove a point? You win, don't worry.
  7:16am
Meghan:

The images on the back of the CD are amazing.....

Morning Eric!
  7:16am
Anthony:

Dave B:

@Dan B - it was. A friend had a spare ticket and I will admit that I went. What a pile of poop...
  7:17am
eric:

Sometimes I'm a geek, a lot of the time I'm a nerd, but I'm never a dork.
  7:17am
Dan B From Upstate:

Dave - At least it was a spare ticket. I couldn't imagine paying for it.
  7:20am
Dave B:

@ Meghan - one for the chamber

  7:21am
Dave B:

  7:23am
Trixie:

  7:41am
Elwyn:

Dang! Bus is still late and iPhone is almost out of battery! I'm looking forward to looking up all the crazy links from Brady.

@Brady: I challenge you to find a picture of the most obese stormtrooper.
  7:41am
Trixie:

  7:43am
Meghan:

  7:44am
Chuck:

Well, you asked for it Elwyn! LOL!
  7:45am
Trixie:

@Meghan: Yup. Did the whole thing solo. I prefer the Brian Dewan version.
  7:48am
Dave B:

wow.... this set is insane...
  7:52am
Chuck:

Scary. I've been to a Star Trek Convention. In 1975!
  7:53am
Dan B From Upstate:

I know it's not the point of the sketch, but hearing this makes me miss Phil Hartman.
  7:54am
Meghan:

Dan I said the SAME thing when I first listened to this.....
  7:57am
Dave B:

  7:58am
DF:

I have never seen Star Wars either
  8:01am
Dan B From Upstate:

Nerdy week, actually. Monday was pi day (3/14). I celebrated by... eating some pie.
  8:02am
Elwyn:

OK. I'm finally home.

I like the idea of Wookie porn!
  8:03am
TH:

Elwyn: Then seek out the Star Wars Holiday Special. I think google video has it
  8:04am
Dave B:

@TH - you should add the copyright symbol to the end of your screen name...
:-)
  8:05am
Elwyn:

@TH: It's funny you mention the SWHS.
I had a friend who tape recorded the original/only time it was played on Australian TV. With his brother, we digitized a copy. :-)
Now that guy, Curtis Saxton, is in/famous within fandom for his notorious Star Wars Technical Commentaries website (and proposing the Endor Holocaust theory and overturning the original believe that super star destroyers are only 5 times larger than normal ones) and he wrote some of the Star Wars Incredible Cross Section books.

  8:08am

Still remember the original release of "Blinded Me" near the end of 1982. Damn, that was a good time for music! Hi, Miss Meg; hi, Bard.
  8:08am
Dave B:

and I recently downloaded the entire MST3K collection...
  8:10am
Elwyn:

@Dave: There's copies on BitTorrent! What we really need is for Lucas to authorize the Special Edition of the Holiday Special.
  8:10am
annie:

tom!!!!
  8:10am
catpatz:

fantastic show meghan
  8:10am
Dan B From Upstate:

There were some great songs on MST3K that could fit a science/nerd theme. One that jumps out at me is the Sodium song.
  8:11am
Meghan:

Thanks Catpatz!
  8:12am
Dave B:

@Dan B Yeah, I just realized that collection has all those songs too! Hooray for my library. Boo for not getting them to Meghan in time...
  8:12am
Trixie:

@Dave B: Where did you download the MST episodes?
  8:13am
Meghan:

Boo Dave.... boo!
  8:14am
Dan B From Upstate:

Trixie is asking the question I was afraid to!
  8:15am
annie:

winamp has been buffering like crazy these last few days.. bummer... and thanks for tom lehrer!
  8:15am
Dave B:

@ Trixie - from the torrents.

The quality of some of the early ones aren't the greatest. If anyone is in the NYC area, and wants copies lemme know.

Sorry Meghan.
  8:17am
Cheri Pi:

Meghan you are KILLING IT this morning.
  8:17am
Parq:

Everything I know about the elements I learned from reading "Element Man" comic books in sixth grade.
  8:18am
Trixie:

That link and this show just made my goddamn day.
  8:18am
Elwyn:

I'm going to ask the question that needs to be asked:
Floods and cyclones in Queensland, Earthquakes in Christchurch and near Japan, Meghan doing a Rush theme - is the Apocalypse coming?
  8:19am
Dan B From Upstate:

Thanks, Dave B!
  8:21am
Dave B:

@Parq - a good portion of what I learned about cultivating weed was learned from Dr. Atomic in the 9th grade.

  8:21am

Thanks Cheri! Ahhh, that is kinda perfect Parq. And very nerdy....
  8:21am
Chuck:

If you mean the end of the world, yes, Elwyn. In about 5 billion years....
  8:25am
Dave B:

and @Dan B & Trixie - That torrent is pretty healthy too. I can't recall how many days it took to download, but it was well worth it...
  8:26am
Anthony:

I'm just going to go out there and mention the Mike Allred periodic table of the elements pages from his and Neil Gaiman's Metamorpho strip in Wednesday Comics. This is a show for geeks, surely someone else here appreciates this.
  8:27am
Chuck:

Wish I had the time, Dave! UTP is my major allotment of computer time for the week. The rest of the week I've only got time to check emails...
  8:29am
Elwyn:

My hard drive is too full of stuff taken from the share drive at work!

That's how I've gotten so much Top Gear for Meghan!
  8:30am
Meghan:

Woohoo Top Gear!
  8:32am
jeff p:

I used to think i was only kind of a geek. But after seeing the kirk/leia making out pic and saying to myself, "Hot!" I know I'm a bigger friggin' geek than I could possibly imagine.
  8:32am
Dave B:

If you like Top Gear, British humor and Media in general, seek out Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe. He skewers television in a way that I find hilarious. My co-workers don't get it though....
  8:33am
Dave B:

HOLY CRAP this Pac Man song is AWESOME!
  8:34am
jeff p:

It reminds me of Happy Flowers
  8:34am
Chuck:

Damn! And I was just watching "War Games" last night. Oh, those old video games....
  8:36am
Dave B:

My best friend used to rule Asteroids and Pac Man. He'd skip classes after lunch because he'd be on a roll, and play for hours on a single quarter
  8:36am
Elwyn:

MC Hawking was such an angry nerd!

The sad thing is that I remember all that Quake stuff like quad damage...
  8:37am
Dan B From Upstate:

The neverending theme from Burgertime just entered my head. Thanks a lot, Meghan. :P
  8:38am
Marmalade Kitty:

Great set Meghan.. And the comedy sketch was hilarious!! :)
