@brian - this is probably it. album version is on mckendree spring 3. irene - there's a montreal band from the 70s called CANO (stood for canadian arts something or other.) worth owning if you can find it. don't think it was ever reissued.

Brian in UK:

Postmanpaul You weren't at the Zigzag 5th anniversary concert 1974 by any chance. John Stewart, Chili Willy, Man, Michael Nesmith very pissed.
My daughter & I went to Sri Lanka last year. Quite wonderful. There is a sign as you go through customs to the effect,'Anyone caught with drugs will be banged up & the key will be thrown away'. I believe them after the dealings with the Tamil Tigers.

Brian, i was studying graphics under an amazing polish dean of faculty called jersey caro up in leicester then! bands did the de montfort hall. ...caught stones black&blue tour (buckets of water thrown at audience all night by mick) billy preston was there too!
just been thinking of catching bands at the tunnel by blackwell tunnel s.e. london, I guess its been gobbled up by semi-chic development by now. in particular, a female punk band who's name prob escaped me 5mins after leaving the place. they sang 'band of gold', breathtakingly mesmerisingly sexy!
