($cientology is a perfect example of this.) Also the pandering to magical thinking ("Truthiness", Jesus, Birtherism, Climate Change Denial, etc.) Your thoughts?

Why challenge yourself when you can eat a convenient fast food dinner, watch television, and converse about sports? Questioning yourself and critically thinking about the world around you is the key to progress.
