Speaking of Dave Edmunds. Michael, have you been able to get him for an interview?
  11:49am

Is Marshall's Beayles' tribute band (w/ Glen Burtnick & Liberty Devto) and ongoing project? They put on a terrific show in Rahway a few weeks ago.

That should be BEATLES tribute band...

Speaking of Detroit, Eminem is from St. Joseph, Missouri.
Which is about as far from Detroit as you can get.

At the Beatles tribute, Marshall said he wanted to do a Sam The Sham tribute next but I think he was kidding...

I stole a bunch of my grandfathers silver dollars to buy the first Knack album - do it again in a heartbeat.

Chris:

Michael, thank you for yet another great interview and another show worthy of the Broadcast Hall of Fame.

Just as you put on the awesome "Cynical Girl" I cranked up my thirty year old Sanyo receiver in homage to a song and album that the old girl played oh-so-many times before.

The right channel of the old Sanyo petered out a while back and sometimes she just gives up the ghost until I do a "Fonzie" and smack her back into shape.

Towards the end of the song she petered out. As I started hitting her harder and harder (to no avail) the strangest thing happened:

First the front light magically reappeared (after being dark over 13 years) and Mother of Mercy! BOTH CHANNELS CAME ON!

Now that is another miracle provided via You, Marshall Crenshaw, and WFMU, The Greatest Station in the Nation, the Fun 91!

Thank you Michael.... I was almost resigned to the old Sanyo finally giving it up... at least you and Marshall would have been her swan song.

Thanks for getting her second wind back!
  12:34pm
Chris:

Oh, and yes, I have tried to fix her in more traditional manners in the past.
