“Rue the Day”
This late, lamented Irish guitar god was such an avowed meat-and-potatoes rocker, that the addition of keyboards and sax to his usual lineup led him to ditch an entire album's worth of what would be considered gloriously unadorned rock 'n' roll to pretty much anybody else. Recorded in 1978, that album has finally surfaced, 16 years after Gallagher's death. And if you've ever heard yourself bemoaning the dearth of music that not only rocks but rolls, this ripping opener should put an end to that complaint right quick.
