  7:12pm
listener james from westwood:

loved this program, betsy! enjoy the summer! hope to hear you again in the fall!
  7:12pm
Listener John:

Well, I hope you have a good summer and that you come back in the fall! I've learned a lot from your show -- I think that I've read or heard the names of 50% of the artists you've played, but on your show I've heard music by the other 50% for the first time. And it's all been great fun, too!
  7:12pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

Betsy! I love the Porter/Dolly combo. Sad to see you're taking a break, but heck, you deserve it, woman! You work hard to bring us such wonderful C&W nuggets, and I'm looking forward to hearing you again in the fall, or maybe for a summer fill-in?...
  7:13pm
Matt from Springfield:

I'm a gittin' the hell out of work now, but just wanted to say "Thank You!" to you Betsy, along with everyone else already here!

I've enjoyed your show and hope you're back on in the Fall! You really do play a wide variety of stuff, particularly tracks like this (Dolly & Porter) where I know the performers but am new to the song, to introducing me to new stuff--like the Hazel Dickens song you played in tribute to her--that was beautiful. Thank you much Betsy!
  7:14pm
david:

Please come back in the fall Betsy! Actually, please come back next week!
  7:14pm
Michele:

Thanks Betsy! You're rad, I hope you are back on in the fall.

  7:20pm
Listener John:

Sorry to post so much, but up above I was trying to say that I had HEARD the names of many of the artists you play, Besty, but had heard their music for the first time here. And that there are a whole lot I've never heard of that I've heard for the first time here. So besides playing great music, which is fun to hear, you've also taught some of us folks a lot about country & western music.
  7:23pm
Betsy:

So nice to hear, thanks John!
  7:24pm

Betsy, I'll miss terribly your great sepia-toned selections and exceptional radio voice this summer. Tears and beers for sure. I really hope WFMU gives you an alternate stream of your very own. You're a charmer.

Pre-Betsey, I hadn't really listened to any of the artists played here since I was a kid and my mom used to play it... mostly on old 78 rpm 12-inch records. So Toothpick Rhythm has both exposed me to music that's new to me, and brought back some very old memories. So, thanks much Betsym and have a great summer!
