Listener comments!

  12:10am PMD:

HI there - first time listener! Great so far...
  12:11am APMike:

Call in if you're unemployed or angry tonight. Let's commiserate. Or you can just call in anyway: 201-209-9368
  12:12am Therese:

Hey, thanks PMD!
  12:12am Erlend:

Wait, did you beat Scharpling to debut the new Ettes? Sounds great!
  12:12am APMike:

I think she did!
  12:15am Therese:

I may have beaten Scharpling to the Ettes, but Terre T and Evan have been all over it!
  12:18am PMD:

APMike, what if I'm half employed and only annoyed?
  12:23am G:

@PMD: Then only dial half the number.
  12:30am Danne D:

Hiya Therese :)
Hi Everyone :)
  12:31am Danne D:

@Therese - did you like my suggested title for tonight's show with Mike: Safe Word Radio?

Anyhow, enjoying the set list. High quality as always :)
  12:31am Therese:

Hi Danne!
12:31am Tom ( The Bactrian Support Network ):

  12:34am Danne D:

According to the playlist archives, Therese is the first to have played that song by The Ettes )

Dang, Tom - with all those lined up what do you think this is, Bayonne?
  12:36am Danne D:

Btw, I'm afraid I won't call in tonight as whenever Therese and Mike are on together I only seem to have the most pathetic stories to call in with, unfortunately.

Btw, like the new Twitter avatar, Therese - very artistic.
12:39am Tom ( The Bactrian Support Network ):

... just in dancing mood being i'm on Holiday too hope yours was great too Therese .. !!! :)
  12:42am Danne D:

Hmm, so if Mike is on the air, who is screening the calls? :)

Btw, I'm kicking back from the comments now, but will be tuned on in. Have a great show guys! Two of FMU's biggest rising stars together on the air!
  12:48am Nat the Parker:

you're right, its a pretty dumb movie :)
  12:48am Julie:

  12:49am Danne D:

actually hopping back on to say that this show once again how good the on-air chemistry is between you two :)

Night all :)
  12:49am Roger:

That was quite an "ughh" there
  12:50am Julie:

Blue Valentine= naked michelle williams
  12:50am PMD:

Someone tell me when I can listen again. I may actually want to watch the movie someday. Please. Thank you.
  12:50am Julie:

like MOST of the time
  12:56am Julie:

tell us how you really feel, Therese
  1:02am dave:

get a job at that bar?
  1:03am Therese:

dave- that's what I told him!
  1:03am coelacanth:

If you're fired it's cuz you failed-or they suck...You are human...but if you're "terminated",you are an expendable slave who's no longer of use. ...i'd rather be "fired".
  1:06am Job Seeker:

The old "Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" recommendation. Works every time.
  1:09am jules:

mike and therese...thanks for the discussion. feeling similarly rant-y about the job search process.
  1:10am Employers:

Big time anger, exactly what we most prize!
  1:11am Therese:

We are not afraid to be service-y
  1:14am coelacanth:

DO IT! Commit insurance fraud! They deserve it!
  1:15am coelacanth:

You must mean "funny mammal."
  1:17am coelacanth:

(but that's "speciesist"... "funny ANIMAL".
  1:18am coelacanth:

  1:21am Chris's Date:

  1:23am coelacanth:

sounds like i've done well to've not seen any new movies for about 10 years now.
  1:27am Career Counselor:

You are currently pre-blessed, and your character is "under construction".
  1:28am Jon Solomon:

Stupid hotel room wireless is buffering like crazy. All I got to hear was Mike discussing "Bound" and then things got choppy (on my end - sounds like things were already choppy in your side of this nation).
  1:32am HR Terminator:

Hasta la vista. BABY.
  1:37am Therese:

Jon Solomon! Where are you?
  1:40am efd:

OOh!! I know the answer! I know the answer!
  1:41am Ayn Rand:

Who is Jon Solomon?
  1:44am Therese:

Evan, I'm hearing that in an Arnold Horshack voice.
  1:46am efd:

That's good, because I don't think I could say it in an Arnold Horshack voice.
  2:02am coelacanth:

Thank you,and good night.
  2:12am stucco toast:

Kroch's & Brentano's ? that's the big book store I remember (but ended in 1995).

Our library (Carnegie Library in Pittsburgh) has a large collection of 'zines in the reading area.
  2:20am redwing:

Where's all the Stones tunes?
  2:21am greggulator:

I'm pretty interesting.
  2:23am redwing:

You guys ever hear the Rolling Stones record "Exile on Main St"? You should play it.
  2:26am redwing:

Hey Therese this ain't the Stones.
  2:27am Therese:

Nope, not the Rolling Stones
  2:28am redwing:

Why isnt this the Rolling Stones? I think it should be.
  2:39am redwing:

Attn: Mike...play some Stones
  2:45am redwing:

You know who Josh Hamilton's favorite band is?
  2:45am redwing:

You know who Josh Hamilton's favorite band is?
  3:01am Alicia Renee:

NEVER a better, more reliably TASTY grilled cheese than in a parking lot. cheaper than at a grilled cheese invitational at least.
  1:42pm Joe's Taco Truck:

I’m with APMike on Jonathan Franzen – I’ve held him at arm’s length because I get a sort of bougie a-hole vibe from him. Haven’t been sure if I wanted to take the dive with his work yet or not.

I’ll be the dissenting voice on Blue Valentine – I liked it. Your criticisms about the gutted narrative are valid, though whether or not that bothers a viewer is a matter of personal preference. With certain films, a strong negative reaction can be an effective result. Blue Valentine may simply be one of those movies. I didn’t feel that it was an insightful story at all, but it did function at a sort of gut level. The value of that is debatable, but it's better than being forgettable entirely.
  1:42pm Joe's Taco Truck:

I enjoy Depravity's Rainbow, btw. :)
