Listener comments!

  9:13am Durwood:

Bob - this is so great - I love the Zappa version on 'Burnt Weeny Sandwich' - I had no idea 'WPLJ' was a cover!
  9:16am Chris:

Hi from the UK. I've just switched on the laptop and straightway there's Wynonie Harris - resuilt. Will continue listening whilst packing for my holiday.
  9:19am Jay/ London:

  9:31am Dead Corporate Eyes:

happy Saturday FMUers!
  9:38am postmanpaul:

Hey Bob! Hey listeners! Rather special opening set Bob - my 18 yo son has been turning me on to Nick Drake recently. Because Tom is into the stuff I listened to way back, his mates call him 'retro'! Raining cats and dogs here under a nation wide slab of slate-grey cloud.
  9:40am Chris:

Good tracks Bob!
  9:41am Chris:

Its surprising how many teenagers and people in the 20's in the uk love 1960's and 70's music.
  9:44am SmokinJ:

That IS the best Grass Roots tune bb! Thanks!
  9:47am postmanpaul:

Enjoy the show folks, bye Bob, gotta get going somewhere. Looking forward to catching up with this one in the archives. Love wfmu.
  9:49am Kent T.:

I agree with Smokin' - fantastic Grass Roots choice - and the young lady singing now - very far out - great show BB!!
  10:00am Listener Bill:

Garnet Mimms - Cry Baby, one of the greatest songs ever.
  10:02am tomB:

Listener Bill is correct. One of the best songs ever produced.
  10:05am RHenderson:

Mott producer Guy Stevens, of whom the Rolling Stones waxed sarcastic in the fine print of 'Sticky Fingers,' probably owing to Stevens' attempt to create a Stones-like atmosphere of depravity in the studio during Mott's 'Brain Capers' sessions.
  10:14am Peter K.:

FYI, the title "Viva Seatac" refers to the Seattle-Tacoma area. I think "Seatac" is the official abbreviation for the airport there. (In fact, I think the chorus to that song begins "Viva Seattle-Tacoma, viva viva Seatac.") Robyn Hitchcock's lyrics and titles are not always as mysterious as they seem.
  10:22am Peter K.:

Todd -- wow!
  10:23am Chris:

Cheers for the music Bob. i've got to go out now and pick up a jacket from the dry cleaners.
  10:37am Peter K.:

Larry Coryell did a very nice recording of "Jade Visions" too. Great tune!
  10:47am seang:

oh yeah
  10:59am Robert:

Some people have even started using "Seatac" in addresses.
  2:26am Tom Finn:

Hi Bob, Love you man, you're the best. Thank you as always for supporting The Left Banke - Tom Finn
