  9:56am
Van:

hello Liz and listeners. Dallas, TX checking in
  9:57am
Paul:

Listening at work on a hot afternoon with no-one else in the office - my first time with this show. Interesting so far!

Paul, Canterbury, UK
  10:01am
Liz B.:

Thanks for checking in, everybody, and glad to have you here. I was eaten alive by mosquitoes over the weekend, so I'm an itchy mess!
  10:02am
Cecile:

Gotta run, Liz, but I have to say how blown away I am by the swag I got this weekend. Especially the messenger bag and the flash drive! the USB drive is like having FMU around w/o having to go online!
  10:05am
Cecile:

People, there are 300 tracks on this thing, some of them an hour long!
  10:07am
Cheri Pi:

I want Swag!!! Thank you for the beachball Liz! It's helping me hold out until my big-swag arrives.
  10:09am
Cecile:

should be soon, Cheri. Mine came Saturday.
  10:10am
Cecile:

Aw, hate to miss the Fungus Brains (the great lost Aussie groups of the 80s after Tactics), but gotta go.
  10:12am
Richard from Venezuela:

A good idea for the next marathon is pledge via text message. I have dollar problems in my country but, i can play some international pc games using http://www.zong.com/ . I want a swag for the next marathon :(
  10:18am
Liz B.:

Hey Richard, we looked into the text message donation thing, and unfortunately they'll only accept pledges of up to $10 and the phone companies keep 30-50% of the money. Evil.
  10:20am
Richard from Venezuela:

Really evil. :(
  10:21am
Mike East:

Good morning, all. Liz B - I can empathize with the itchiness. I got bit more than I have all summer at our local lake yesterday.
  10:23am
Liz B.:

The phone companies got a lot of flack for keeping a huge chunk of the donations for earthquake relief in Haiti, so they eventually were pressured into giving it all to the cause, but that is certainly not the norm, unfortunately.
  10:30am
still b/p:

The tally from a not-exactly-leisure trip yesterday: a few good blueberries, a few minor black fly bites, one black bear running across the busy road. One of the best bear sightings I've ever had.
  10:32am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

you live up in the mountains, s b/p?
  10:33am
Richard from Venezuela:

Thanks for the information Liz.
  10:35am
still b/p:

It was outside North Conway, NH, about 90 min. from where I live in Maine.
  10:37am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

I haven't seen a bear in about 20 years. But of course the last 20 years I've rarely left Ohio. Last one I saw was walking through a campground, causing quite a stir.
  10:40am
Vicki - DO or DIY:

Acapocalypse :)
  10:41am
Liz B.:

Ha ha, sorry Vicki, thought maybe it was a typo!
  10:46am
Van:

I only discovered WFMU recently so missed out on whatever it was that people are getting swag for. I did however order my own t-shirt :) As for mosquitoes, supposedly if you put a dryer sheet (like Bounce) in your pocket they will leave you alone. Don't know if that is true or not.
  10:47am
Liz B.:

Hi Van, welcome to our demented little radio family! Thanks for the mosquito tip -- I'm gonna try the dryer sheet!
  10:48am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

put one in your bitchin' baja (aka drug rug). This track is building to something great, I feel.
  10:52am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

great DJ move Liz!!
  10:53am
Paul:

Current track sounds like more 'Krautrock' (terrible term, but you know what I mean)
  10:55am
hubba:

Good morning everyone! Coming into work earlier... drinking raw eggs out of my hat that holds two canned beverages... "slurp the yoke" <consider it coined!>
  10:56am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

yuck, hubba, just yuck
  10:57am
hubba:

sorry.
  10:57am
T-Zero:

@DCE: What part of Ohio? I'm in Ohio as well.
  10:58am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

the big CLE, T-Zero
  11:01am
T-Zero:

@DCE: Ah! Col here.
  11:04am
Mike East:

Is it me or is anyone else having trouble figuring out where these tracks begin/end? I don't mean that in a bad way, at all...Really excellent set, Liz
  11:05am
Mike East:

oh, there it is
  11:06am
T-Zero:

@DCE: You ever listen to WRUW? I have problems connecting to WCSB or I'd listen to them sometimes too.
  11:07am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

oh yeah, all the time; between those three stations I'm putting in 50 hours a week. Insane and obsessed.
  11:08am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

@ Mike East--the mark of a killer DJ set! no beginning, no end, seamless.
  11:08am
hamburger:

sour buddy. sour buddy buddy
  11:10am
T-Zero:

@DCE: Know what you mean. But I don't listen to them often. I'm more obsessed with WFMU (most of the time, a couple New Zealand stations, and a few other in the US. I like the music at WRUW but the djs annoy me.
  11:10am
hubba:

I got one of those out of a grocery store candy dispenser!
  11:12am
hubba:

@T-Zero, have you checked out KDVS?
  11:14am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

hey, is there anything in COL worth listening to? Whenever I drive through I try to find something at the low end of the dial but fail.
  11:14am
T-Zero:

@hubba: Nope. KEXP, KUSF in exile and KPFA is on my list to check out so I'll add KDVS.
  11:18am
T-Zero:

If I listen in Columbus it's usually only to WCBE: Ante Meridiem with Mike Taylor, Roots 'n Offshoots or Wolrd Café with Maggie Brennan. Once in a while All Mixed Up late at night.
  11:18am
bw:

THIS IS THE BEST SONG EVER
  11:23am
T-Zero:

@DCE: WCBE is mostly NPR syndicated programs but the ones I mentioned are produced locally,
  11:28am
T-Zero:

Errr not World Cafe, that's David Dye in PA. I meant The GLobal Village.
  11:29am
hubba:

Fungi Girls were to play last night, here, but the show got cancelled... miffed as to why, but this track is making me sad that I was not able to experience it live.
  11:30am
Liz B.:

Bummer, Hubba, sorry to unintentionally rub it in.
  11:31am
hubba:

hey, no complaints here... keep the hits coming!
  11:31am
rocky:

i am trying to find that vacuum, shade song, but i can't anywhere, please help!
  11:32am
Liz B.:

Check out siltbreeze.com, Rocky.
  11:33am
rocky:

thank you liz! it's an awesome track
  11:33am
T-Zero:

@DCE: Honestly, though, I hardly ever listen to Col stations any longer. But if all you have is vehicle radio in the area, then that'd be better than nothing.
  11:34am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

yeah, I really don't believe in satellite radio. it's like the tooth fairy to me.
  11:36am
hubba:

Better hurry... that Vacuum 7" is endangered...discogs already has it at an inflated price.
  11:38am
rocky:

am i blind? i can't find it...
  11:40am
if you want to buy:

http://www.midheaven.com/item/st-by-vacuum-7
  11:40am
T-Zero:

@DCE: Seems most of the stations in Col are now owned by Clear Channel. Dayton Univ WUDR 99.5 or Otterbein WOBN 97.5 might work for you.
  11:42am
rocky:

cheers!
  11:42am
T-Zero:

Nothing can beat WFMU though.
  11:44am
if you want to buy:

when you're right you're right, t-zero
  11:44am
hubba:

Picked up that Googoosh disc on Finder's Keepers yesterday, but had to forfeit it... last minute birthday gift... surprised the store had it... it was either that or Ebo Taylor... I used a gift certificate I got for my birthday... is that like re-gifting?
  11:48am
Ike:

Hey all! Hot show, Liz.
  11:50am
Liz B.:

Thanks Ike! I'm catching up on the convo about other good radio stations... KDVS was my old stomping ground, so I have to give a shout out!
  11:53am
T-Zero:

Boulder's KVCU isn't bad either except it's an AM station (mono on the web) which sucks. Chicago's WNUR is pretty good too.
  11:54am
T-Zero:

It all depends on when you listen in and what music you like I guess.
  11:56am
hubba:

Monday huddle-up... See everyone in a bit... Thanks for das jams Liz!
  12:01pm
Van:

Thanks for a nice show Liz!
  7:20pm
Lucas:
