Sounds from the archive of the future, sonic drilling into the past, dissonant rumbling, lyrical melodies, noises (human, animal, mechanical, digital) inscrutable yet honest, desultory but consistent.

  3:15pm
bryce:

Hi folks. Welcome to the green screen detour
  3:16pm
Loren:

But, but, but... you were just on the other show? Now you're behind the green screen...
  3:19pm
Inner Ear Detour:

Hey, that wasn't really Bryce by the way. That was deviant computer malfunction.
  3:22pm
Ike:

That combination of faces either adds up to create the illusion of Suisman's face in my addled brain, or MN Jeff has tricked me and snuck Suisman's face in there very briefly, but I can't quite isolate it, yet I feel like I have to try, and now my brain hurts. Bravo, MN Jeff, bravo!
  3:22pm
John Connor:

What! A deviant computer?! Slash the bastard!!!
  3:23pm
Inanimate Objects:

  3:38pm
Marmalade Kitty:

Good afternoon/evening, David! Which film was the extract from? I've seen this, but can't remember..! "..you think you're a bit of alright..don't you"
  3:39pm
Carmichael:

Hi David. Jeff, this gif is whack.
  3:42pm
David:

There can only be ONE DAVID -

well, apart from the DJ... apart from him, in which case

THERE CAN ONLY BE TWO DAVIDS! NO OTHERS!
  3:43pm
Parq:

Kitty, I happen to know this one, because I've asked David in the past. It's from the Brit 60s sex comedy, "The Knack, And How To Get It".
  3:44pm
Looms:

Gosh! Our good friend David L. just died on us here! HEEEEELP!
  3:45pm
Inner Ear Detour:

Parq tells it like it is
  3:45pm
Marmalade Kitty:

Thanks Parq. have you seen it?
  3:48pm
Parq:

Yeah, I have -- the scene from which that snippet is extracted is actually very bizarre in a fun-to-watch kind of way. There's a lot of other funny bits of business in it too. It's one of those black-and-white "swinging London" numbers, sort of like "Hard Day's Night" without the music.
  3:48pm
Minnesota Jeff:

Hows the weather where you are?
  3:49pm
Looms:

@MF: my god, it's full of stars!
  3:52pm
Minnesota Jeff:

Thurston "Thirsty" Moore was on Letterman the other night.
  3:54pm
Loren:

TM is playing the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Fest in Golden Gate Park in a month or so... it is free to the public, and features a ton of performers, and now I can hear why he is making an appearance. Cool!
  3:57pm
G:

"Thurston Moore's here, AND HE'S NOT GOING TO LEAVE".

Don't you just hate when that happens???
  3:59pm
Minnesota Jeff:

I've heard that Thirsty does that though.
  4:19pm
Parq:

"Mark Bolan - Great Jewish Music" is now on my list of phrases it never would have occurred to me to expect to see.
  4:21pm
Cecile:

That sounds like Alec Bathgate singing, actually.
  4:22pm
BT:

Bill Orcutt's gonna freak a few minds out at that SF fest.
  4:23pm
Cecile:

I hope this is just a tribute tribute and not a memorial. :/

Yes, the Tall Dwarfs, the only group that did a theme record for a head cold.
  4:23pm
Inner Ear Detour:

I'm including Alec on equal terms here.
  4:23pm
Cecile:

oh, OK. Alec's solo album is amazing. The one with all the Elvises on it.
  4:26pm
Cecile:

Oh, good! It's a birthday!!!!!!!!!
  4:33pm
Carmichael:

Hey Cecile, where have you been? Figured you were on vaycay.
  4:35pm
Cecile:

I was. Also trying to focus a little more at work. Ugh. Even skipped Bryce today.
  4:39pm
Carmichael:

It's almost over, Ce. 3 day weekend ....
  4:41pm
Cecile:

yea. A real vacation - we went up North for four days, got home and were sick in bed for four days.
  4:49pm
Carmichael:

Yikes. You need a real vacation, alright.
  4:58pm
Cecile:

You know it.

Wow! Chris Knox looks pretty decent on that clip. The music behind sounds very Dead-Cish in a way.
  5:05pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

Hooray! No offense to Kurt, but I'm happy to hear David on the air! Loving the show today.
  5:07pm
Cecile:

Great clip, David. I really like that NZOnscreen site, been trolling it for FOTC and Taika Waititi stuff, never thought to look up TD or Flying Nun clips.
  5:07pm
Carmichael:

Sorry David, but I can only peek occasionally at eh playlist. The shift to white screen (to actually work) is a real eye-buster. Great music, though!
  5:13pm
Cecile:

Ah, Abba and OZ/NZ. They were literally bigger than the Beatles down there. I experienced it 1st hand. Nutso.
  5:16pm
Inner Ear Detour:

Carm., is the green screen a factor--or is the fact that you have actual responsibilities to perform?
  5:17pm
T-Zero:

This Chris Knox salute has been great, David. Thanks for doing this.
  5:27pm
Mike East:

Yes, absolutely brilliant!
  5:37pm
Marshall Stacks:

Excellent.
  5:40pm
Carmichael:

Hi David, yes, the color is too brilliant for me. Maybe not for others, though. I DO welcome the impediment to responsibility, however.
  5:41pm
Carmichael:

Hey Marshall, how is Napa/Sonoma? Are the grapes frying in the heat?
  5:44pm
Marshall Stacks:

Hey Carm, I'm down on the Central Coast. It hit 43 degrees this morning.... but the grapes are doing OK so far.
  5:45pm
Cecile:

oh, hey, Carm, I found a real gem of an eatin' place in the UP. Kinda remote but great.
  5:46pm
Carmichael:

Am I off by a few towns? For some reason, I thought you were in Sonoma. The brain is the 1st thing to go ...
  5:47pm
Carmichael:

Food?? Mmmmm, tell me more!
  5:48pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

Cool! The Bandana Splits will be on Gaylord's show this Sunday, and their set will be engineered by my sweetheart, Glenn L. Make sure you tune in.
  5:50pm
Cecile:

We learned of a place called Fitzgerald's - it's right on the beach in Eagle River (one of the few little UP town that is truly quaint.) Guess it had been there for 30 years, but for the last 5, these 20 somethings have taken it over and done great things. My sister who hates eating out in the UP goes there every chance she gets. They have a hefty selection of high-alcohol microbrews and over 100 scotches. They don't do anything 1/2 way. They just got a BBQ smoker and have some super ribs, chicken and brisket. Really fresh feeling place.
  5:51pm
Cecile:

Giant windows right on the water, and knotty pine everywhere. I can't help it, if I could my house would be all knotty pine.
  5:52pm
Cecile:

Negra Paco? Frank Black?
  5:54pm
seang:

Cecile, you're a knotty girl :)
  5:59pm
Carmichael:

You had me at "high-alcohol microbrews". It sounds amazing. I will investigate, though a trip is not in my future. Thanks for the 411.
  6:01pm
Cecile:

they put them in the right glasses, Carm. The right glasses!
  6:03pm
joe:

what was the name of the last track that played? i don't think it's listed?
