Listener comments!

  3:23am
Brian in UK:

Good morning sir, you are not alone!!
  3:24am
Brian in UK:

Have you heard anything by Mose Allison's daughter, Amy?
  3:26am
Bill Mac:

Hey Brian! I had no doubts that someone would show up! Amy Allison does not ring a bell. Do you recommend anything?
  3:30am
Brian in UK:

'No Frills Friend' was recorded at East Kilbride Arts Centre in Scotland. Strange connection. Some good stuff on it.
  3:31am
Bill Mac:

I'll have a look for it. I really need to get into Mose's catalog a bit further.
  3:34am
Brian in UK:

Here's a link to Doug Schulkind's show when she played live.

You are going prehistoric with these toons!!
  3:36am
Bill Mac:

I know..... I've been hitting the iPod of late. Sometimes it's good to lance the boil and get the old stuff out of my system
  3:57am
david in denver:

so great to hear phil! good jay oh be!
  3:59am
Bill Mac:

Yo David! Yeah, a drive through the country is ohrighty by me!
  4:07am
M I S T E R G A R C I A:

good tunes this morning - checking in from London
hello Bill Mac
  4:10am
Bill Mac:

Hey Mr Garcia, howsitgoin?
  4:29am
Looms:

Hello there!
  4:29am
Brian in UK:

Bill, had to walk the dog and you go and play Phil Ochs whilst I'm out. Priceless.
Much frustration over here as the new There But For Fortune DVD is not available in Region 2.
  4:30am
Brian in UK:

Hey Looms.
  4:31am
Bill Mac:

What's up Loominous...
  4:33am
Bill Mac:

There but the Fortune NOT in region 2... how can this be? What does all that mean anyway, aside from it being the reason for your agitated state?
  4:36am
Looms:

I'm up, that's a good start.
  4:39am
Bill Mac:

Good that you're here...
  4:39am
Brian in UK:

It baffles me to buggery. I heard tell that it might be shown on TV. I need some breakfast too lazy to be agitated.
There's a smell in the air of changing seasons over here.
What tune did The Kills nick the chorus from. It's buzzing round my head now.
  4:43am
Bill Mac:

Got a whiff of that myself this week... it smelled a little bit like Fall, then it disappeared. I give it a couple more weeks. I'll hafta review that Kills tune though.... it did have that familiar anthemic feel to it didn't it?
  4:47am
Looms:

Feels like hot summer here. How about your Irene experience, Bill?
  4:48am
M:

The DVD world is divided into six major geographical regions. This means that DVD players and DVDs are labeled for operation within a specific geographical region in the world. For example, the U.S. is in region 1. This means that all DVD players sold in the U.S. are made to region 1 specifications. As a result, region 1 players can only play region 1 discs.

Just another way to fuck the consumer!!!!
  4:55am
pierre:

bonjour BillMac !
Bonjour Listeners
  4:57am
pierre:

simply great.
  5:05am
Bill Mac:

Now that sounds like a good time
  5:09am
Looms:

Really liked the Dave Cloud; does the rest of the album sound like this?
  5:10am
pierre:

already having a great ime here.
  5:15am
Bill Mac:

I've liked everything from Dave Cloud. I don't know how accurate it is but someone commented that it sounds informed by Beefheart among other warp-minded musings
  5:19am
Looms:

Okay... I'll keep that in mind :)
  5:20am
pierre:

this will be the o.s.t. of my week end
  5:23am
Bill Mac:

I'll make sure to keep it edgy but mellow, if that's possible
  5:39am
Brian in UK:

OH Barrence. you've made my day, Bill.
  5:40am
Bill Mac:

Awesome kutt!
  5:46am
Stanley:

Hi Bill. Hi everyone. Enjoying the show as per. Thanks for the Gary Lucas. Nice to be surprised once again and set up nicely for Saturday.
  5:49am
Bill Mac:

Yep.... gonna be going to the deeper end of the library more often instead of picking through the new bin... Lucas is under-represented on the show.... thanks Stan!
  5:49am
Looms:

I'll take a manga/banana ice cream, please.
  5:58am
Bill Mac:

OK folks, hope you enjoy your weekends... US folks celebrating Labor Day (those that are working anyway)... hang tight, we'll be seeing you next week!
  5:59am
Looms:

You've always had a great sense for program endings, Bill. Thx, have a nice week.
  9:31am
Parq:

Bill, no email, so have to leave a note here and hope you see it. Got to listen to most of the show on the archives. Loved hearing "Theme from an Imaginary Western" -- it had been decades. A listener mentioned Amy Allison; I saw her open for Laura Cantrell a couple of years ago. She has a really memorable voice. Best regards.
