  9:17am fred:

Good morning Scott
Work will soon prevent me from listening for a while, but I should be back in time for the live set
  9:20am Scott:

Hey Fred, sounds good!
  9:20am jamesie:

Bought this Crosby when it came out. No one liked it but I wore it out!
  9:20am wildneil:

Very very very cool...reminds me of 1986 Syracuse hippy music phase....
  9:21am PKNY:

I've heard good things about this DC record on a music nerd site I inhabit, good to actually hear something from it. Thanks!
  9:22am jamesie:

also strummed it out forcibly on my acoustic
  9:22am pierre:

Bonjour Scott !
Morning listeners !
  9:24am seang:

  9:31am Dead Corporate Eyes:

If I could only remember a jellyroll
  9:32am Scott:

  9:36am Dead Corporate Eyes:

crap, now I'm hungry again. I don't even know what a jellyroll is.
  9:36am jamesie:

actually it was Daves finest before the drugs got him. He didnt imitate anyone, he was being his good self.
  9:39am Cecile:

I know, jamesie, was just being a smartass.

DCE it's a lovely sponge cake covered in jam and then rolled up and sliced.
  9:40am Dead Corporate Eyes:

crap, now I'm really hungry!
  9:41am Scott:

Not to be obvious or anything but also: double entendre. It is the blues.
  9:42am Dead Corporate Eyes:

I thought the double entendre was more of a sex thing
  9:43am dc pat:

I'm having a vegetable sandwich with tapenade and shriracha on multi-grain bread
  9:44am Cecile:

I had some string cheese and a depth charge. Fighting a cold, so no appetite.
  9:44am Dead Corporate Eyes:

little early for hot sauce, doncha think?
  9:44am Cecile:

never too early!
  9:45am dc pat:

don't think there's a double entendre involved..

DCE: no.
  9:46am dc pat:

some would argue it's too early for sandwich too...wine in the morning, breakfast at night...
  9:46am Dead Corporate Eyes:

yeah, I put hot sauce on omelletes on the rare occasions that I eat omelletes. but sriracha...that's strictly after noon for me
  9:46am dc pat:

this Liberez piece is fantastic!!
  9:47am Dead Corporate Eyes:

sure is--just kind of creeps in the background
  9:49am Cecile:

I have a love/hate affair with breakfast food, but I can eat a sandwich anytime.
  9:49am threelobed:

stoked for the upcoming chew performance - totally digging the crosby, MV and zaika in the meanwhile.
  9:52am Scott:

  9:59am blackgreen13:

  9:59am blackgreen13:

Coffee and a protein shake
  9:59am Dead Corporate Eyes:

I feel like I woke up from a peyote trip in a tiny desert town
  9:59am Dead Corporate Eyes:

I guess that peyote's not quite done with us yet!
  10:00am blackgreen13:

Dang, why is this happening?
  10:00am hamburger:

kit kat
  10:01am postmanpaul:

Salutations Scott, City Slackers and Officionados.
  10:01am Dead Corporate Eyes:

blackgreen13, maybe your server is hanging up and you're pressing "submit" twice.
  10:02am trolly mctrollster:

i THOUGHT that lead guitar sounded a tad nasal-y
  10:09am jamesie:

I opend this on my listener hour in 2007 after 11,000 miles on a police bike ...
  10:10am fred:

And I'm back. Good morning everyone!
Hey postmanpaul, are you already busy preparing for the wedding?
  10:13am dc pat:

hey, can you play something by Sandwich next? (just kidding, one of my groups...)
  10:13am T-Zero:

Morning, Scott. Jelly Roll Morton seems to be following me wherever I go today. lol Woke up early, early this morning with a local college station tuned to country and playing Jelly Roll Morton. (This is *not* a bad thing, by the way.)
  10:15am Cecile:

wow the mastering on this is amazing.
  10:24am pierre:

this is so nice.
  10:24am postmanpaul:

Hey fred! Everything is in hand for the 1st of October, thanks : )
  10:25am Cecile:

you know, the more I learn about the history of jazz and blues, the more I understand why many musicians resented rock. I see what John Coltrane was doing in '61, and then I see the pop music of the time.

Not that I don't love both to death, but now I get it.

What's on Oct 1, PMP?
  10:26am trouble:

gorgeous show scott! hope i see you next saturday at roland p young performance at the paterson public library. bring the kids! good morning jamesie, hellos to your family from all of us.
  10:26am T-Zero:

Did I miss an explanation on a mic break as to the reason for this Jelly Roll set? A tribute to his birth on 20 Sept? (Not complaining, mind you. Just wondering.)
  10:27am Cecile:

hola, trouble! I bought a Roland P. Young CD after his appearance on your show, love it.
  10:28am Cecile:

T-Zero, Hans Chew is a pianist in the style of Jelly Roll.
  10:28am threelobed:

t-zero - i'm presuming it's a lead in to today's live hans chew set.
  10:30am T-Zero:

Ahhhhhh. Well, slap me silly. Thanks. I didn't know who Hans Chew was. Now, I'm *really* looking forward.

I loved this era and style of music since before I could walk.
  10:32am Cecile:

mr ree, mr ra!
  10:38am jamesie:

Hi there Trouble! and from ours as well, Shiona is engaged to be married! Lots of love to you guys
  10:45am trouble:

  10:48am Cecile:

I wish we could get him out here in the Midwest!
  10:51am T-Zero:

Ok, when I said I loved this style of music, this wasn't exactly what I was thinking of lol

All this time, I've thought you were on the east coast, Cecile.
  10:54am Cecile:

Nope, I'm in Minneapolis.
  10:54am Rodney:

Acid Birds just gained a new fan . . . me.
  10:59am Shiona:

  11:04am jamesie:

  11:10am Cecile:

"Americana" is not my favorite music, but I like this very much.
  11:12am threelobed:

hans is such a soulful performer. it's hard to not get pulled in when he's going at it.
  11:13am Cecile:

I really feel it. No "playing" here.
  11:26am Swami:

The ghost of James Booker!

  11:45am tony:
