  9:57pm
Matt From Berwyn or just Matt:

What type of book you would read to this type of song? Or what I am reading? If it is the latter im reading a book called Theft Is Vison by art curator bob nickas.
  9:58pm
G:

I was guessing that Matt was proofreading a script for a numbers station and needed to concentrate.
  9:58pm
Matt From Berwyn or just Matt:

This song is definitely for reading frankenstein but quite honestly its giving me chest stress right now hahah!
  10:00pm
Matt From Berwyn or just Matt:

I want to be soothed by sprinkles falling from the heavens right now. Can I make a request on here? Do yal have the song Beserker by JANE? Scott Mou and Noah Lennox?
  10:01pm
Matt From Berwyn or just Matt:

I need healing music, catharsis.
  10:03pm
RobotBoy:

Hmm, looks like another weird night at WFMU. Weird, but good, I'm sure.
  10:06pm
G:

Unfortunately, WPAT (Paterson, NJ) ("the music of your life", if you were born about 1920) changed format from muzak to Spanish contemporary some years ago now.
  10:06pm

Ha! Cheers for the Iowa shout out! I'm 12 blocks from a big BSNF switchyard, so I'll try tapping the rails for my FMU fix. 2nite I'm redrawing/reworking vintage tattoo flash, & the sounds are driving me along.
  10:23pm
12539:

I am listening so attentively, so quietly, that you do not even suspect my presence.
  10:23pm
D. Blumin:

Matt, hope this soothes yous ok.
Hola Robotboy & Slab!
  10:25pm
D. Blumin:

That is exactly right, 12539 - I had no idea you were out there!
Tapping those rails might get you in a bit of trubble but the result of the experiment would be worth any prison time you'll incur for sure, Blacktooth!
  10:26pm
Matt From Berwyn or just Matt:

yes this song is amazing. thanks daniel!!
  10:26pm
T-Zero:

Evening, DB.

Is that some sort of instrument in Fur Karin or was that an actual goose honking in the background?
  10:27pm
D. Blumin:

T-Zero, that was a doublebass trombone!
  10:27pm
T-Zero:

Oh! Wait! Scratch that. It wasn't Fur Karin. Heh, my playlist hadn't updated. I'm not sure what track was playing when I asked that.
  10:28pm
Richard from Venezuela:

Hello Daniel and all the listeners.
  10:29pm
RobotBoy:

Not too much, Mr. Blumin, just spending another Saturday night with some WFMU and some drinks. That Tor Lundvall track was pretty nice, more details...
  10:29pm
T-Zero:

It must have been Yellow-Green.
  10:30pm
D. Blumin:

Yes, there were field recordings throughout that one...
  10:31pm
D. Blumin:

Some FMU, some drinks, and the last castrato, you mean...

fleep:

@Richard from Venezuela Sorry about Miss Universe, your entry was very pretty.
  10:35pm
Richard from Venezuela:

it was.
  10:36pm
RobotBoy:

Castratos have an interesting history. They're mentioned some in The Lives of the Great Composers. If memory serves, they were pretty "hip" back in the day. May have even been popular with the ladies, somehow. They also retained the vocal pitch into old age, I believe.
  10:37pm
The Ladies:

No chance of getting up the pole.
  10:42pm
slab:

Do you like burns!!!
  10:43pm

  10:53pm
RobotBoy:

Arkansas Garage Psych Rock 63-71... where else would you hear it.
  10:57pm
G:

Did someone's mention of Klaus Nomi get us to this tune?
  10:58pm
blackgreen13:

hey Matt, just quit 3 weeks ago... I tried tapering several times but only cold turkey really worked for me. I had quit once before, same story. Just expect to be effectively psycho for a few days. Block out time. What kind of worked for me was the whole "the farther I get away from that last cigarette (temporally) the more I have invested in this whole quitting thing." That worked. Haven't even thought about it in the past couple days, and you saying that was a jolt. A pack or more of filterless daily to nothing. I feel great. Kind of aggressive, though. Lots and lots of energy. Good luck, I'm rooting for you.
  11:00pm
slab:

Matt. I was just thinking i should have a smoke. And I am not a smoker. I think I will go out and smoke. Then come back and think some more about this kitchen. See you at the record fair
  11:00pm
G:

Sounds like this is one of those washing machines that doubles as an intergalactic craft.
  11:02pm
12539:

I want one of those washing machines with tailfins.
  11:08pm
PB:

Very trippy and not even the word acid in the artist's name.
  11:10pm
Tony Orlando:

So *this* is where she went.
  11:12pm
Matt From Berwyn or just Matt:

Thankyou blackgreen, yeah i quit for 5 months straight. :( its so hard. I need to save money and my health. Got to quit!!!
  11:13pm
Matt From Berwyn or just Matt:

Lol daniel. I'll just put on 100 more pounds in the mean time!
  11:14pm
blackgreen13:

yeah, I'm a healthcare professional, I should know better. Ever seen someone trying to live their life on constant 4 liters of O2? Sucks doesn't even come close.
  11:15pm
slab:

Heweehh!! That smoke was good. Nice smoke outside in the early fall air.
  11:17pm
Matt From Berwyn or just Matt:

yeah it's really awful and i feel guilty about it, i know my family would not be pleased I think they think i've still quit. Perhaps suspect that I've started up again in my senior year of college. Still it's no excuse, If I truly believe in my own power as an individual i should be able to do it! I need to become a monk temporarily.
  11:18pm
Matt From Berwyn or just Matt:

slab don't smoke!!!! eeeeee
  11:18pm

  11:42pm
blackgreen13:

the cigarette delusions:
1. You don't feel good, and in fact you will *never* feel good again. This will last for eternity. Only a cigarette can change it. Fact: 5 minutes later, you might totally forget that you ever felt that way.
2. A cigarette will make you feel wonderful. In fact, a cigarette, which you need so bad right now, will be ambrosia, an experience beyond compare. Fact: It's like a baby dragon crapped in your mouth. The relief you feel is so intense it's sickening, and makes you feel this kind of weird psychic sickness that's a little like being raped.
  11:42pm
D. Blumin:

Thanks, SV! Also thanks to Klaus Nomi since he must always be thanked upon mention! RIP
  11:43pm
Matt From Berwyn or just Matt:

zhahahha black couldnt have said it better myself. There is a total psychological bout that goes on.. giving in and guilt that comes with continuing to smoke for me.

  11:54pm
B. LaBonte:

Sinus-clearing!
  11:55pm
blackgreen13:

It's not nice to feel tricked, is it? Be angry about it. In fact, give yourself permission to be a raging dickhead for a few weeks. The world will survive.
  11:56pm
