Live performance and chat with Ethel |
||||||||||
The adventurous post-classical string quartet Ethel has been breaking the boundaries between tradition and technology since 1998. They've collaborated with the likes of John Zorn, Steve Reich, Todd Rundgren, David Byrne, Andrew Bird, Iva Bittová, Thomas Dolby, Steve Coleman, and many others. Recently, founding member Mary Rowell left the ensemble, but they carry on capably with their new violinist Jennifer Choi. Ethel kicks off a tour with a new collaboration with flutist Robert Mirabal called "Music of the Sun," inspired by the sun mythology of Native America, and a new work called "Dream House" by Mary Ellen Childs. |
