Listener comments!

  12:09pm joe:

'ello folks
  12:11pm jdelz:

Inquisition is so good. Isnt the story with his vocal style that he is transmitting messages from an alien god or something?
  12:13pm joe:

Although I do like sometime it reminds me of Popeye
  12:15pm Eric:

the rainbow's rockin' and the boys are ready to go!
  12:20pm Maria T:

  12:21pm A-Lou:

  12:23pm slugluv1313:

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DEATH VALLEY '69!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH, DIANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12:26pm bill:

brain... melting...
  12:29pm dez:

YES! bauhaus!!! Thank you Diane!!!
  12:30pm joe:

Wow we are all over the place today this rocks
  12:30pm Van in Dallas:

Bela Lugosi is still dead. :) LOOOOOOOOVE this song...greatest Halloween song ever :)
  12:31pm InBrkly:

What did people think of the last Bauhaus album? I liked it but I was amused because to me it sounded like Love and Rockets, with guest singer Peter Murphy.
  12:32pm slugluv1313:

omg YES!!!!!!! AGAIN!!!!! AGAIN!!!!!!!!! BAUHAUS!!!!!!!!!!! Diane your show ALWAYS rocks!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!! (ahhhhhhh BELA my Hungarian *soul brother*!!!!!)
  12:32pm dez:

Not familiar with Love & Rockets so I can't comment on that aspect of it. But I liked the album very much.
  12:35pm kamikaze:

Hi everyone! Ivan Julian is my guest today at 1pm! He will be the first guest DJ I have had on who is LIVE! Brave enough to be in the room with me ;) Also, please, if you can, please support WFMU - pledge box is up on the playlist. It's a silent fundraiser and I"m not supposed to SAY anything, but I can certainly type it! THANKEEE!
  12:35pm dez:

I wish they'd at least keep touring and not make themselves into such a novelty. They're one of the BEST BANDS I ever saw live. I saw them Nov 2005. Unbelievably fantastic!!!
  12:36pm dez:

I pledged last week. I'm totally poor right now :( and am struggling to make my rent for November :(
  12:39pm dez:

Pledging is good karma though!!!! :)
  12:40pm joe:

Diane sound like you have bit of a cold there
  12:41pm Van in Dallas:

The Sky's Gone Out...wow did I love that album by Bauhaus
  12:41pm InBrkly:

There was also a 12" picture disc that had an alternate take of Bela.
  12:42pm blacktooth:

Great show today, Diane! You're all over the place & I'm loving it!
  12:45pm joe:

Wow I'm sold
  12:48pm Can Dialectics Break Bricks?:

Talk about going back to the Reagan era... images of faux-goth Bay Area richkids (who were very much into Bauhaus) dancing through my head, back when black was still "black" and even vaguely scary...
  12:50pm dez:

Black is still pretty scary. I get stares and comments at the laundry-mat all the time.
  12:50pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

digging the hard/psych/prog of Monument.
  12:50pm Can Dialectics Break Bricks?:

...so thanks for playing that (BLD), Diane. It's definitely a very '86-'88-ish song -- that's probably the last time I specifically played it, and my vinyl copy was stolen long ago, of course. But it does stand the test of time, I think we can say at this juncture.
  12:51pm Can Dialectics Break Bricks?:

dez: yeah but it's a different kind of "scary" now, isn't it? more like a "you can't be serious" scary
  12:52pm Can Dialectics Break Bricks?:

depends on the audience, I guess
  12:52pm dez:

with a little bit of "thank god MY kid won't turn out like you" sprinkled in there as well!
  12:53pm Can Dialectics Break Bricks?:

little do they know!
  12:54pm andymorphic:

lovin the gun club....such a great band
  12:54pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

I've told my kid that if his hair isn't dyed purple or black by the time he's 16 I will e disappointed in him.
  12:59pm andymorphic:

digging this 80's you are into today!!!
  1:01pm Can Dialectics Break Bricks?:

they weren't so bad, weren't so bad at all (the 80s) 'cept for that "we've got an obviously senile president who could get us blown to bits at any moment" part.
  1:02pm andymorphic:

end of the analog age
  1:03pm Can Dialectics Break Bricks?:

and/or get us get us drafted to El Salvador, Nicaragua, or wherever at the drop of a hat.
  1:06pm InBrkly:

Are you kidding? No self respecting teenager today would leave without some hair color or body mod. If your kid is a true rebel, he will wear a white collar and a tie.
  1:07pm miggs:

ello folks san diego checkin in!!
  1:09pm miggs:

love comes in spurts!!!!!
  1:12pm miggs:

  1:19pm 65% dc pat:

Hey! Sediment Club, alright!
  1:22pm Can Dialectics Break Bricks?:

a true rebel dresses exactly as he/she wants, without feeling any need to "buck", or even respond to society's, or any peer group's expectation of them
  1:23pm A-Lou:

Sediment Club rocks!
  1:24pm joe:

Sediment Club-Time Decay Now
  1:25pm miggs:

wow sediment club sounded great now i wanna find the record
wonder if they still play out? are they new or old band?
  1:26pm 65% dc pat:

they're pretty new and pretty young.
  1:26pm InBrkly:

CDs should be packaged the way EA used to package games that came on 5" floppy disks: in 10" cardboard sleeves that allowed for greater appreciation of the artwork.
  1:28pm glenn:

and for the love of god, could we please just stop with the feckin' jewel cases? i can't think of worse packaging.
  1:28pm miggs:

thanx 65%... definately will check them out if they come out to west coast sometime soon...
  1:30pm joe:

No Problem
  1:30pm InBrkly:

ohhh yeah! say it loud!
  1:37pm joe:

The Habit this I like very much
  1:41pm Lou:

  1:43pm miggs:

wow just read he produced the last two FLESHTONES albums..i didnt even know they were still recording
  1:44pm joe:

Ivan's memories of working on my all time favorite Clash album Sandinista
  1:44pm A-Lou:

  1:46pm joe:

  1:47pm miggs:

thanx a-lou!..man hope they make it out to west coast...
  1:47pm 65% dc pat:

Sandinista is amazing. I go through periods where I listen to nothing but that album. Not really in order just jumping around. There's a lot there.
  1:51pm joe:

I really don't think some people get how great that album really is cause they are so fixated on the whole "Punk" thing.
  1:51pm miggs:

hahahaha!! yes hunx n his punx rock!!!!!
  1:52pm 65% dc pat:

joe - you got that right, I pre-ordered that album but was so disappointed when I finally got it in my hands cuz it "wasn't punk."
  1:54pm joe:

Ivan any plans to do anything with M. Sweet for the 20th anniversary of Girlfriend.
  1:57pm miggs:

  2:01pm miggs:

  2:02pm miggs:

  2:04pm josh:
