nice start Bob....quick query...tried listening in UK a couple of hours ago....no connection online or through my internet radio....and yet, checking the archives there is no sign of any interruption...am I going mad or what????
  9:18am karen:

  9:27am dale:

morning mr. deejay. i just heard a recent cover of expecting to fly and was horrified. it had a techno-y thing going on and the lyrics were incomprehendable. a travesty.
  9:47am karen:

Sometimes the time spent preparing for things creates anxiousness when the big moment arrives. This is wonderful--thanks for your effort! You've blown my mind by reaching into Todd's archives.
  9:48am Dave:

9:49am Tom ( The Bactrian Support Network ):

WOW ! not heard this Cream gem in a while ! my fave part still when they finally did that REunion few years back was when Ginger was doing "Pressed Rat and Warthog" !!!
  9:50am Scott:

Always good Bob, check out 'Birthday Carole' on Runt, 'Rock On' -David Essex, and 'Ballad of Danny Bailey'- EJ for more string candy
  9:52am dale:

i was a moody blues freak, and bought all the solo work. picked up greame edge band with adrian gurvitz. that lead to baker gurvitz army. that was really my only exposure to ginger baker and i didn't care for it. wasn't later til i heard some cream that i started to appreciate him
  9:53am Dave:

@ Tom
I got "Fresh Cream" for Christmas 1969. I was 15. Cream was a pure Blues band on that album.
  10:01am Rick:

As always another great show
  10:02am dale:

Todd recently did a concert in Amsterdam with Het Metropool Orkest, organised by Dutch public radio (Radio 6: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YtfnRj-zA0E). Alas for me, it was sold out. Dutch radio will broadcast the whole concert . Meanwhile, clips of semi-private recordings are getting out on YouTube.

  10:56am paul:

I would bet that's the first time The Syncopated Clock has been played on the radio in its entirety in 50 years. Cool.
  10:56am Scott:

"There Goes My Baby" changed the face of modern R&B by adding strings, but it famously almost didn't come out. As the story goes, Jerry Wexler hated it and said that the arrangement sounded like two different radios playing in two different rooms, or something like that. Thankfully, cooler heads prevailed.
  10:57am Hugh:

Bob,
I can't remember how many Leroy Anderson melodies I played, during my school band years! I'll never get them out of my head!
  10:58am Kees:
